Best Handicraft museums in Mexico

El museo regional zoque es una pequeña pero interesante muestra de la cultura zoque coiteca. En la primera sala usted encontrará piezas arqueológicas y fósiles del devenir de la humanidad en el municipio de Ocozocoautla; en la segunda sala, usted observará una creativa colección de maquetas a modo de etnografía que cuentan las danzas y principales festividades de los zoques del municipio de Ocozocoautla. Tanto las maquetas como los maniquís, están bellamente adornados y decorados para transmitir el colorido y simbolismo de las tradiciones coitecas. En el recinto hay también una modesta biblioteca, un taller artesanal para elaborar las maquetas y maniquís y un patio central muy bonito. Si a usted le interesa la etnografía zoque, es un lugar muy digno de visitar.

A pesar de su tamaño es uno de los mejores museos que hemos visitado. Muchísimas gracias al profesor que se tomó el tiempo para darnos tan amplia explicación acerca de los usos y costumbres en Ocozocoautla y area Zoque.

La bienvenida muy buena y muy cálida, pequeño pero con demasiada historia, me encantó el lugar.

Very small museum that took about 30 min to walk through. The staff were amazing and so kind. Some very beautiful pieces on display of traditional Jalisco art. Worth a visit! It’s also within a very short walking distance of a couple other museums so worth making a stop to support it! Entry was free when I visited.

Es pequeño y le falta quiza un poco de atencion y vista a los letreros pero es buen lugar para conocer un poco mas de Ocozocuautla

This is probably the only thing worth seeing in the down and out town of Creel. Exhibits are very well done and there are explanations in English.

Se está renovando este espacio cultural, ojalá tengan éxito, la cultura zoque es muy interesante y este es un buen lugar para exponer la cultura de esta región.

En el museo zoque regional de Ocozocoautla podrás conocer acerca del asentamiento del lugar, sus costumbres, vestimenta típica, tradiciones, y su famoso carnaval coiteco. No tiene costo, el lugar es hermoso, algo pequeño pero eso no le quita lo lindo. me encantó ir, está precioso y acogedor, con vegetación y un jardín central con un árbol en medio, perfecto para la foto del recuerdo.

It's very small but nice

English name of the museum is not exactly what you would expect - this is the museum of folk arts and crafts native to Jalisco. It's several rooms across two floors with everything from textiles to pottery to traditional clothing and wax art. Admission is free.
