This Art Nouveau/Deco pearl of artistic brilliance, houses a truly magnificent collection of a vide variety Mexican art, from murals to sculptures, there is something for everyone. The palacio features both permanent and visiting exhibitions, as well as concerts, presentations, and performances. The gift shop is also definitely worth a visit.

The only setback is that admission is cash only 🤷‍♂️

This is one of the most accesible and curious museums I have ever experienced! It has an amazing collection worthy of any large European collection. Entry is free to all!
Muy limpia, bien organizada.
La exposición Arte en Papel de China está muy interesante!

Excellent art museum located in the heart of Polanco. The entire collection is free to view, so it’s a perfect stop for any tourist or denizen of CDMX. There’s five floors of art, complete with works by Matisse, Chagall, Rodin, Van Gogh, Picasso, and Rivera (to name but a few). The museum is similar to the Guggenheim, as visitors can walk upstairs in a giant spiral, visiting each floor as they go. You’ll want more than an hour to make sure you see everything!
Very intetesting - mix of contemporary, historical and lots from thev20s 30s and 40s. The building is spectacular
Buen lugar, está limpio, amolio y ordenado. Se imparten varios talleres y cursos relacionados con las bellas artes para niños, adolescentes, jóvenes y adultos.

So fantastic! This is a must-visit if you're in Mexico City! We had a long layover in Mexico City and went here and it absolutely did not disappoint.
Beautiful art deco interior. It's free to go in and look around and take photos. The museum was a great experience. They also have a box office inside to purchase tickets for up coming events/ shows.

Their collection is as impressive as the building! Lots of classic art and historic objects. Apparently it's one of the best private collections and that's obvious given the breadth, diversity and notoriety of many artists featured in it.

For non-Spanish speakers be aware didactics and information is not also displayed in English so have the Google Translate app ready.

Also, you will have to cloak larger bags.

Beautiful museum in a historic and impressive building. We happened to visit on a Sunday, so admission was free. I'm not sure what they normally charge, but the museum is worth a visit one way or another. I really enjoyed seeing a few more Diego Rivera pieces.
You have to see the National Mexican Folkloric Show. It's a blast. The show is about 2 hrs long. But it worth every second of it. The stage is very deep, with the great sound and lights. The maximum quantity of artists on the stage is about 50 people at a time. It's really very impressive. The costumes are gorgeous.
It's guaranteed that you'll have long lasting memories about your trip to the CDMX.
Definitely a must go.. such a majestic place full of story and colors... I can't tell if the shows are good as I didn't quite actually paid for one but art galleries and murals were amazing
Another incredible museum in Mexico City. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the City. Adds a wonderful cultural/historica context to this amazing city.
I really wasn't all that impressed with this place. As someone else said, the building is huge (and has nice staircases) but not enough art to fill it. This is especially true on the top floor (2 floors of art). Lots of space and largely empty rooms, and the art is mostly of the same theme (religious) and of a similar style and time period.

The lower floor (2nd piso) has a wider range of art to see in styles across the 19th and 20th century as well as some sculpture. Themes vary. I wasn't struck by anything but perhaps an art history person will readily identify the different movements that differentiate the styles (even I could clearly tell the differences) and enjoy the works.

I did like a couple of pieces here and there, but I just was underwhelmed overall and had higher expectations especially when seeing the line around to the back of the building on Sunday (free entry day I think). I went on Wednesday with no line. If you go, don't wait in a long line. It isn't worth it.
The Francis Alÿs exhibition is interesting. Children around the world playing with whatever they find to hand. No adults or mobile phones. They have to determine the rules and sort out disagreements without grown-up interference. This promotes autonomy, self-confidence and resilience. Excellent choice of exhibition.
Beautiful place. Its definitely worth seeing the shows. They always seem to have very good presentation. We have the pleasure of seeing El Ballet Folkrolico de Amalia Hernandez and it was incredible. Paid Garage parking easily accessible. Get your tickets ahead of time.

We visited Mexico City between 3rd May to 6th May 2023 and visited so many places and saw this place but from a distance and had a aerial view of this place as visiting hour was over. Looks beautiful. Wonderful historical place. Sharing Photo/video taken from a nearby high-rise building. Aerial view of nearby places are visible in the video.

I’m not gonna put all the pictures from my trip here, but if you’re in Mexico City, you need to go to this museum, it is free, it is amazing, and you can experience art and statues and artifacts that I do not know how it was even possible to keep in the conditions that they were found in. It all looks immaculate and priceless and they let you get up very close to everything.

Loved all the floors and exhibits and the history. Do it! If you’re reading this in English, you’re likely here on vacation anyway.
I highly recommend the free tour of the theater on the inside. There are 2 slots, 13 and 13.30, not sure though on what days.

The tour gives a complete and very nice explanation of the theater (in Spanish).
Marvelous museum! Logical interior gallery spaces and architecturally lovely. Provocative exhibitions! Extensive book store. A museum worth the drive to.

I highly recommend attending the performance of Ballet Folklorico in Palacio de Bella Artes. It is really amazing - music, dance, costumes, choreography - everything was wonderful, a great experience!
The building itself is a work of art and it is decorated with the murals by the great Mexican artists, including Diego Rivera, which you can see by visiting the venue.

The most interesting aspect of this museum is perhaps it’s exterior design.

While also the interior design is interesting, it’s execution is below par. Lots of executional defects when it comes to construction.

The exhibition itself is so, so. Feels like lots of random stuff randomly arranged.
Really cool architecture. Tickets are reasonably priced. Murals by known Mexican artists, including Diego Rivera, are giant and cool to see. Unfortunately when we went a lot of exhibits were closed.

Can't miss the iconic grandeur of this architectural world class beauty. We saw Amalia Hernandez' Ballet Folklorico. Pictures cannot do this performance justice. Incomparable. The costumes, beauty, choreography, music, and dance evoke cultural emotion like no other. I've seen many performances all over the world. I would come back to CDMX just to see this show again. Thank you Amalia.

A Must see Museum!! The architecture and art are mind blowing! Be sure to take your time and have some patience as this place can get crowded quick!

This place should be placed on your top 3 things to do/see while in Mexico City!

Beautiful venue, but small collection. For the size of the building, I was expecting more artwork. However, the collection was pretty limited. There are two levels of artwork, but on each level, I’d say only about 50-60% of that real estate goes towards showcasing art. The rest of the rooms/floors were closed off. In addition, there was an additional fee to take pictures in the museum. Note that this includes phone pictures and that staff will frequently go up to you to verify your photo taking eligibility.
Beautiful museum. The bus takes you to the place right in front of it
The Palacio de Bellas Artes is definitely one of the most breathtaking buildings I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of amazing architecture in Mexico City. It's truly a masterpiece and a testament to the beauty and grandeur of this incredible city.
Loved seeing all the murals and art here. Mexico truly is very beautiful. The lighting and architecture are simply amazing and breathtaking. You could spend hours here! My senses were going wild 😍 This is very close to home and I’m very happy I got to see this place. Growing up I always heard of it ❤️
It's an amazing place, is so quite all around, incredibles outsides!!!

This museum has free entry to the public. The architecture of the building itself is a must see. The white interior adds so much character. The walls and ceiling are white from floor to floor. As we came in, we were directed to a section where we were to check in our bags and water bottles. This first floor is a large open space area with a few large exhibits that caught the attention of the visitors. There is also a souvenir shop in this same floor. We walked up from floor to floor through a spiraled walkway ramp situated around the perimeter of the structure. In the center, at each floor, we found so many collections ranging from coins to artwork to sculptures.
Elegant from the outside, this is also an architectural gem inside, with a beautiful art deco interior. You can wander around and appreciate this for free on the first level, but it’s worth paying the admission fee to go upstairs and appreciate it from above as well. The upper level is home to some famous murals, including ones by Diego Rivera and José Clemente Orozco.
Gorgeous building, great theater experience
Great museum, not as crowded as others and well worth it. The entrance is smooth and the architecture is gorgeous. You can enjoy it in a fast visit to centro. They have a permanent collection of mexican artist and a temporary hall with artwork that is very interesting.

It's worth it just to see the building! But staff was friendly and its a decent reminder some form of this city has been here for 500 years.
This place was grand yet welcoming. The location is very easily accessed and staff were incredibly helpful (even though we required someone to speak to us in English).

At the time of visiting they had two main displays ongoing which were projections in a dark room telling the tale of the establishment of Mexico City and then multiple murals all over the walls inside the building.

The location was clean and accessible and on the day of visiting it was free to do so. We were able to join onto an English tour which walked us through the whole building and explained all the murals as well as giving us time to just sit and appreciate the art before us.

I’d highly recommend a visit here, it could be as quick as 20 minutes or you could sit and stare for hours. It might be a little lacking in excitement for kids though.

You can not take any drinks into the facility and we were made to finish ours and dispose of our bottles upon entering.

Excellent museum with astonishing art Installations dating hundreds of years inspired by the region and beyond.

Very will organized with unique layout flow..the museum is next door to a large shopping mall with tons of food options.

Entry to the museum is free on the day I visited.
A great museum for up and coming artists with unconventional and unique styles and personalities. A bit of a drive from the heart of CDMX but worth every bit. The architecture of the museum itself is amazing especially with how they've built it together with its surroundings.

Wonderful collection: Rivera, Siqueiros, Orozco. Too bad the security guards outnumber the patrons by a count of 10:1 on a Sunday afternoon.
What's beautiful building! Even if you are not a huge art fan this is a great building to explore. Local and well known artists exhibit here. There is a grand gallery area as well as smaller galleries off to the side. I would like to see a performance in the grand hall next time. Worth the stop!
Beautiful place with amazing art. The ballet was also an amazing show!
Beautiful and tranquil grounds and an amazing collection of watercolor art. All my favorite pieces there are by the maestro himself Alfredo Guati Rojo. Extra points because there's an adorable cat who lives in the garden here. Would love to come back and take a class some time!
This is an excellent example of Art Deco design. On the top level there is about 10 murals with at least two by Diego Rivera. There is also an exhibit by an important Mexico artist. Some paintings but mainly sculpture. Tourists will pay 90 pesos at the time of this writing, but Mexican citizens and residents will be free on Sundays.

The performance hall is also supposed to be gorgeous, but you will need to arrange to buy tickets to see a performance.

This venue can be done in one to two hours
Inside tour is impressive !!!!!!!! Must visit must see ...ITS A MUST. Only times for visit 13:00 & 13:30 ... must be 30 min before tour
An excellent example of Art Deco design. Oh yeah they have like 10 giant murals all over the third floor that are spectacular. Two of them by Diego Rivera.
A must visit while in CDMX, the architecture is incredible.
This is an amazing museum for contemporary art. The price is really cheap. And there are many different exhibitions going on. Although some rooms was closed. They where setting new exhibitions. The current exhibitions where very good. Specially the one about protests and the people who “disappeared “ during this period. There is an installation in the shape of a hut or a house. But with inclination, it is really awesome. The museum is very well designed and has various spaces that daylight comes in.
The museum shop has a good selection of items and the restaurant is very nice. Specially the patio side.
This in of the museums in the city that one should really visit.
Metro 3 stop University. (Last stop). And in university city the buses are for free. So you can hop on.

Two of the four floors were closed for exhibition changes. Security told me off for starting to walk in the 'wrong' direction - I was the only visitor apart from a small group with a guide. Plan your visit well as it's not worth going out of your way for but interesting if you are in the area already.
No card, only cash.
You will have to be a Mexican student to get free entry.
If you are close to university city I totally recommended you to visit this museum and appreciate modern contemporary art exhibitions enjoy a great coffee at the restaurant with the company of nature around
Beautiful museum. The prehistoric exhibit was my favorite, really interesting to see them recreate these paintings with ancient methods! Information is also available in English. Free entry but you need to pay 50 pesos to take pictures. I recommend grabbing a coffee at the cafeteria next to the ticket booth and enjoying the garden views!
Interesting museum, not very big and with godo art pieces. Overall, I felt that all the art pieces were a bit too overcrowded and hard to focus on a single piece. Suggestion is to place fewer pieces but with a better exposition. Overall a museum to be seen kn Mexico city.
Lovely space. I would definitely go back there to take a class.

It’s such a beautiful museum to stop by if you are visiting Coyoacán. They have a very nice collection of water colors. Their gardens are gorgeous too!!

Little hidden gem.
It's a beautiful complex. Entrance by donation. Nice and friendly and helpful staff. Although I didn't know the painter
I wouldn't recommend going here unless you have lots of time and money to get rid of. We went after exploring another nearby museum because of the great reviews, and were shocked. The entry is NOT CHEAP--at least not by Mexican standards--as it cost about $6 usd/person. It's also really small, and one of the three floors was basically completely empty. There were probably 5 or more guards per every visitor, and we got scolded for taking "too many" photos (even though I saw fewer than 10 visitors throughout the entire building). As someone who's been to Mexico City multiple times and whose fiancé is from there, there are far better things to do in the area for that cost.

Tinha um senhor que cuida do lugar super simpático, me auxiliou no local e até tirou fotos minhas na piramide externa.
No mais... O lugar é parada obrigatória no México.
Great museum, easy to get around.
This place is amazing for anyone who’s a watercolor enthusiast. The collection features different techniques and styles from mexican artists as well as international, that are a great inspiration and helps you discover more of what you can do with watercolors. The gardens are gorgeous too, and great for spending a little time sitting outside.
Cute, small museum in San Angel. They have various expositions at the same time. Staff is friendly. The venue has an elevator but also ramps which makes it accesible. No parking available but there are options around. Cheap entrance. They currently have a very interesting exposition of Rivera, Orozco, and Siqueiros. A must!
Great place to join a tournament of Chess.
Cool for learn a little
There is something going on almost everyday and you get to see local people's life here. Also you can take lots of lessons like arts, dance, music for incredibly cheap price.

The museum is small with only 3 halls. It is quiet and the layout is neat. You will enjoy yourself in here. It offers a display of different artist's pieces every month.
Watercolor isn't as popular and this museum is simply a gem among other collections not only for the large size of the collection but varied artists that you will find. The exterior of the main galleries is also very peaceful and there is a small auditorium for showings too.
Modern space in one of the most traditional colonies in México City. Located near Ciudad Universitaria, this museum contains collection from now and old times.Cost of entrance: 35 pesos. No park zone, near Metrobus Altavista.
