So glad we ventured off 5th Ave onto 10th Ave and found this place I got the street tacos my wife got the chorizo with queso and they were amazing I’m not sure about others who said they got ripped off but my bill was spot on with amazing food definitely will return to this gem
This place gets 10 out of 10 on everything. The house itself is beautiful, old and well maintained. Staff very courteous and professional. The food is one of the best we had in the city with local products and excellent quality. We definitely recommend to try Mexican wine which ended up to be the nicest discover of the country. The menu is simply, few dishes and all made with heart. I think everyone should try this place and obviously make a reservation before because it gets busy.

This is the best taco place I’ve been to in PDC. The lengua, tripa durado, and many others are incredible. The service is fast and efficient and servers speak English if you need it, but it has lots of locals so you know it’s good.
They have various drinks but no beer or agua mineral so if you want fizzy water you just need to bring it with you.

Yum. A must go for cheap and delicious street food. Staff are lovely too. 18 pesos for two huge tortas. Will definitely be going back.

Food is fantastic, the meat is so flavourful and delicious. We had to come back every day after our first trip. Have always loved El Fogon but now Taqueria Gomez is my new favorite place to eat in Playa del Carmen.

Very inconsistent experience. Some food was very good; peanut shrimp tacos, tuna tostada. Others were very lacking: the sea bass was great but it didn't pair at all with the olives covering them. The berries palavra was very good but it had way too much wafers and a poor shape.
Service was also inconsistent. They gave hors d'oeuvres between drinks and appetizers but service was inattentive after the middle of the meal. Also they do small plates but bring everything at the same time? The waiter counted our cash at the table when he took our check.
They very obviously want to be fine dining but can't do it consistently enough to be an above average restaurant.

Great Mexican Tacos. Tip - always was mexican tacos with cilantro and Onion. And remember an order of 5 tacos isn't that much.
The Guacamole was awesome - not some silly blended up contraption. Just mashed Avocado, onions, tomato and cilantro, salt and some lime.

A fabulous and very special dining experience. We were personally welcomed by the chef and given a tour of the restaurant. We were so attended to the entire time and the food was beyond incredible. Every bite was so delicious and savory, I wish I could come here for dinner every night!
La verdad no había ido a una taqueria que tuvieras que pedir y recoger, servir salaas y a parte tener que dejar tus platos, ni que fuera comunitario. Antes lo encontrabas repleto, ahora está triste y te atienden sin ganas. Solo doy 3 estrellas porque esta rico, pero por el precio otros lugares sí te dan el servicio completo.
Taco stand with delicious tacos! The best street tacos we had on this trip. Paid under 200 pesos for 5 tacos and two aqua frescas. They also have tortas (sandwiches), quesadillas, burritos, etc.
Local street joint with big hearted Mexican serving you Mexican cuisine at its best. We had tripe and barbocoa n it was d best taco I've had in all my 5 days stay in Riviera Maya. A bit of a walk from Ado terminal. 1000 times recommend.

This place is so good and cheap! Me and my boyfriend went here twice already on our vacation and they were so kind to us. I would recommend. The meat is also fresh of the stick like shawarma. It is amazing!
I had the best tacos in Playa del Carmen here. The prices are incredibly low – just 15 pesos each. They offer a variety of pork organ meats. As the service is primarily in Spanish, I suggest English speakers do some research beforehand to place orders more easily. I highly recommend trying the lengua (pork tongue), buche (pork stomach), tripa dorada (fried pork intestine), and maciza (pork white meat). The sauces provided at the table are super fresh. By the way, the food stands at the corner of 15th Avenue & Calle 2 Norte are also very good.
All of the tacos we had were amazing and the service was unmatched! Luis talked us through each taco on the menu, which were the most popular and what to put on each one! We truly enjoyed our dinner here and would highly recommend it if you’re looking for yummy street tacos for a very affordable price! Also, it’s cash only!
Le pongo 5 estrellas de servicio porque sus dueños son muy amables con todos los clientes, sin embargo ya no cuenta con meseros y comer en el lugar puede ser un poco molesto. Anteriormente era 10 de 10 en todo, actualmente pues no hay servicio y no hay cerveza (mucha gente no come tacos sin cerveza) pero los tacos y la comida (lo más importante) sigue siendo los mejores a la redonda

I ordered carne asada and it was more like "skin asada " chunks of fat. When I paid with my card they were charging me 10 % of comisions just because using my card I believe this is illegal

Fuimos porque siempre nos gusta ahí, pero sorpresa. Ya no venden cerveza,no hay mesera, tienes que pedir en la caja, recojer tu pedido y además ya no hay pago con tarjeta. Que mal que descuiden su servicio,si no van a vender cerveza,ok. Pero no le bajen a la calidad del servicio. Espero que regresen a como antes.
Great value for just a good taco. Nothing I'd cross the city for, but it's good place to stop in after a night of drinking. Service was nice and fast.

Ambience and service were 5 star. My server was extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. The ambience/decor/vibe was fabulous. The food on the other hand, left something to be desired. I ordered the steak, which was a generous portion, but doused in a syrupy reduction that was sweet and spicy, and IMO overpowered the meat. The meat was cooked rare, though I had asked for medium rare. The plate had nothing to complement the meat - a smidge of mashed potatoes or vegetable would have balanced out the plate. My appetizer - tuna tostado - and dessert - chocolate tart - were good.
FRESH LOCAL TACOS, TORTAS AND QUESADILLAS AT AN AMAZING PRICE!! Upon arriving to Mexico our mission was to try as much street food as we could, and this spot did not disappoint. Very friendly service and they all work as a team to get your food served. Most of the food was priced $1-$5 depending on the order and the portion are great!! They are open during the weekday late and on Saturdays there are many other vendors who pop up as well and they get busy!! I will definitely recommend this gem to anyone in the Playa de Carmen Area !!
We found this gem once we arrived to PDC since its located next to the bus station. And we returned like 5 times there...and we simply had tacos al pastor con queso and guacamole on side. We just loved it so we had to take it with us also as a takeaway to the airport the last day 😁. Sure its not a michelin restaurant but you dont expect anything like that. the seating area was with AC and had a sink to was your hands which was enough for us.

This restaurant is filled with local people which is always a good sign. The margaritas here are out of this world and very strong! Food is delicious and portions are huge. I think the waiter who served us was probably the best waiter in Playa del Carmen. Good value for money at this restaurant too so highly recommended.
Wonderful Mexican and European food in a beautiful, Scandinavian retro style interior. The sea bass to share for me was the highlight with drinks to match. I met Monica the owner and chef who was delightful so a recommendation to visit. Thank you all!
Han venido para menos. Hasta hace 4 años atrás, la sazón y el aroma eran bastante buenos. A partir de la pandemia su calidad fue disminuyendo (lo opuesto al precio y a la cantidad servida en cada taco) y ya se sienten bastante condimentados y grasosos al punto de generar reflujo y/o agruras. Últimamente el aroma que despide el local no es agradable ni estimula el apetito. Era cliente fiel, pero poco a poco me fueron perdiendo.

Great lunch spot we came to a few times during our stay. Always fresh, each day we got whatever was on the grill. Chicken tacos, Al pastor, mixed tacos, quesadilla, torta. Everything was great, the guys manning the grill were super friendly and gave good suggestions each day! Loads of sauce options to have for their or to pack away.
Looking for different options for meat? Lengua, tripa, surtido, suadero, and maciza are here. Very tasty meat. Only 2 salsas and both picante as it caters more to locals. Very inexpensive. Highly recommend 👌
Minus the lack of Spanish languages (my fault), this is where the locals eat in my view. Locals grab it on the way to ADO bus. Very tasty!
You can do much better than going to this place. I only ended up here because I was tired of walking and my favorite places were closed. There is nothing special at all about the food and it is not even cheap.

This is one heck of a taco shop. I think they are good enough to open their own restaurant. The gringas they make are as big as pizzas and having a great selection of toppings is awesome.
A true gem of a restaurant that aims to be impeccable instead of trendy. The second floor space is elegant and the natural light is especially beautiful in the late afternoon and early evening. Service is warm and polished, and the menu full of stellar selections. The chile en nogada special in September is not to be missed!

Los tacos son económicos y bien servidos de carnes, lo es. Que el consomé sabe a pura agua, no sabe ni a jugo de carne y de tanta agua que la carne también pierde el sabor. No recomendados
La birria es buena, pero los tacos de cochinita y los de mixiote son lo mejor del lugar. Recomendable para ir a comer. El negocio es pequeño pero la atención es buena..
We have good tacos in Florida, but here across the ocean in playa del Carmen are the best I’ve had. One order was not enough for me. I went for 2nds.

This place has tripa taco! But it is not been cut into small piece. Price is cheap about 20 peso per taco. Open late night and there is a coconut store next to this only 45 peso per coconut.

This has been BY FAR the best place I have been to since visiting Mexico City as far as good quality non-fried and divinely healthy food! I had the roast chicken on salad 9they did it special) w avo and I could taste the 100% pure extra extra virgin olive oil, balsamic and arugula/rocket leaves along with some pumpkin and sunflower seeds that had been roasted. I am going there again no doubt! then I had the passionfruit cheesecake that was creamy, low sugar and light yet sweet and sour too. The coffee was strong and good. I am hooked!

Excelente atención y sazón 🤤 abren a las 10.30 am que es cuando tienen todo listo para servir, las salsas le dan un excelente sabor aunque deben tener cuidado con la verde (super picosa pero deliciosa) y la roja una delicia para lo tacos y la carne sin duda lo mejor que he probado!!! Pd. Si no aguantas el picante pide tu taco sin salsa ya que te lo dan preparado con salsa.

This restaurant is so chic and the food so good I just don't know how to compliment it enough. You could visit for less formal occasions or really dress up and feel right at home. The menu is full of the freshest ingredients and the dishes our host selected were incredible. Not pictured was the lavender dessert! Staff were attentive but not invasive.bplates were beautifully presented. I would recommend and desperately would love to go back.

Este lugar es la clásica taquería favorita de los vecinos locales de esta área. Los tacos están bien servicios y la carne está muy rica. Los de carnitas están muy ricos.
Super leckeres Essen! Durfte anfangs sogar probieren ob es mir schmeckt, die Leute sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Besser als jedes Essen in der Stadt, preiswerter und traditionell, top empfehlenswert! Ich würde jederzeit wieder dort essen!
This is a tiny, traditional taqueria with only a few tables, that is very well worth visiting for their delicious hot roasted pork tacos. The photo doesn't do it justice. They have two kinds of meat at the front of the restaurant, which they slice and chop when you order, and if all the seats are taken, you can also purchase one meat or the other or mixed by weight to take home, and they will pack it to go along with tortillas, lime, chopped onions and salsa. The people running it are delightful, and it's real food, fresh, nothing artificial is added. It's cheap and good value. Go for lunch.
