This Kopitiam offered a variety of Penang local foods including prawn sauce chee chiung fun, and char kuey teow (not attached in photo).

Kuey Chap is quite unique to eat, served with deboned pork throttle.

Went this cafe for 3 days straight as its near my hotel.
Tried their thai spicy seafood pasta, taste was awesome and the spicy level was just nice.
Eaten 5 different kind of their cakes. Personal favorite was their burst cheese cake (hopefully i get the name right)
Service staffs are definitely super friendly and helpful.
Would recommend to drop by and try them out if you're visiting this area!

Hawker center famous for its chee cheong but this time we got wantan mee and char kway teow. Wantan mee was quite good, the noodles were springy, soft and chewy. The wantans were alright but the sauce was amazing! Flavourful but not overly salty and oily. Char kway teow was also good with some wok hey. Price was very good (4-5RM per portion). Place was a bit cramped and noisy during lunchtime but that's part of the hawker experience. Will come back for the chee cheong fun when it opens!
Nice coffeeshop with variety of stalls selling nasi lemak, nyonya laksa, eggs & toast, chicken rice balls. Love the nasi lemak with fried chicken, and teh 😋
Visited on 28/01/2024 at 11am. Toast was sold out which was quite disappointing.
Nyonya laksa was good. Soft boiled eggs were 10/10.
A signature place for chicken rice ball. The rice ball and chicken is soft, oily and tasty. Roti bakar is also another family favorite.

Following our exploration of Kek Lok Si temple, we ventured into this charming cafe. The ambiance was exceptionally comfortable, complemented by an acceptable level of service. While the prices lean towards the higher side, the quality of drinks and cakes met expectations. I would contemplate a return visit solely if I find myself exploring Kek Lok Si again.
Visit date: 13/2/2024

In less than 6 months they up 10 cents on their toasts and half boiled eggs, why the need I don’t know but I guess cos they’re so popular and know that customers won’t care / notice the small hike.

The stall vendors are friendly and despite the crowd, they still entertain your questions and requests patiently.

Their toasted bread is a must-have, so good! Other than nothing else is good 😅 Teh peng diluted and not kaw, hot kopi susu barely had any susu, looks like kopi o but insisted to charge us as kopi susu. Kopi peng was ok. Economy noodles not nice, tasteless and small portion.

You can’t order from the roti canai stall next door and sit here, vice versa but can order from the nasi lemak nyonya meleleh stall (which is NOT nyonya at all, it’s owned by Malays and nasi lemak also taste like Malay version, absolutely not nyonya).
If you want roti canai, have to tapau.

Visit date: 24/9/2023

Came here for breakfast, arrived around 8.30am and its was pretty crowded but we managed to get a table.

They sell the classic breakfast food like nasi lemak, toasted breads, half boiled eggs, economy noodles and also heavier meals like chicken rice balls and curry laksa.

You can inter-order food between the stalls but best is to get the drinks from whichever stall you’re sitting in front of.

Toasted bread was nice and crispy but rather thin. Chicken rice ball ok but nothing to shout about. Nasi lemak bungkus quite nice
I tasted the Nyonya Laksa here. This is authentic Nyonya Laksa taste and not the Curry Laksa that some may confused. The soup is not spicy, but you can add their special sambal chilli to add spicy. So it basically suits children, elderly or adults either like it spicy or not. Ambient wise, it is crowded and the Nyonya Laksa stall opens from 7am to around noon, recommend to go early to avoid disappointment :)

We recently visited this cafe after visitation to Kek Lok Si charitable hospital , and we have ti say that the interior is simple yet clean. The food and drinks were both delicious, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Overall, I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a great meal and a warm, friendly atmosphere
Overrated food place ! Poor service, disordered management, messy order, late food delivery and inferior food taste - diluted coffee, no taste laksa and chic rice. I am a malaccan. There are so many nice food around malacca. I seriously don’t know why this place is crowded. Pls don’t ever come to this place.

I am here just to appraise the Kueh Teow Th’ng stall, other than that I would not say much even the Chee Cheong Fun.

This stall of KTT serve instant cook noodle, kueh teow, yellow noodle, maggi, bihun.
A few type of soup base available but I today I would like to review on its milk-base soup. Hardly to get in Penang but I managed to found it here. Very well balanced soup, not too salty nor sweet. You can opt out the black pepper just to have to milk-base soup & taste definately delicious also.

Very kind seller and they can remember which condiments you dont prefer. Big portion with fair price. I notice the seller very meticulous when preparing my serving.

If you the kind that like intestine, they do have it as well and not smelly like others.

Not sure if I missed any notice but they have a policy of 1 order item per customer. This surely isn’t something I would expect from local merchant and there should be an explicit notice if it’s a policy. Kind of disappointing despite spending extra isn’t an issue provided the policy is explicitly communicated to patrons.

Quite crowded during lunch.
Clean & old sch seating with wooden stools.
Mee siam & fried poh piah is nice.
Curry chicken didnt taste that gd, find the chicken is slightly hard,as tho its frozen chicken & not the fresh ones.
Price isnt so cheap as curry chicken with rice is rm11.90
My go to kopitiam whenever I’m in Melaka. Must go and try their roti bakar, simply the best! Their kopi c peng is also great. Has other food stalls like chicken rice, laksa, and chee chong fun. There’s Malay stalls beside, be careful to sit on the correct table.
Food was alright but a bit small. The atmosphere was pretty nice. It was busy. The coffee was big and good.

Coffee here is very good. The food wise is ok-- kaya butter toast, mee Siam, fried rice, wan ton mee. The nasi lemak not good, the sambal is not nasi lemak sambal, it's sweet source. As a nasi lemak lover, I don't want to order this. My family come here a few days a week for its coffee

Drop in for lunch and the cafe, was expecting crowded but it isn’t. Every time when I’m here there would only 2 stall I will order from. The Thai pork leg rice which is still as good but need improvement on the rice. It was dry and tasteless. Lucky the pork leg gravy able to compensate it.

The best of the chee cheong fun. Still as good, queue were long but they are fast paced in preparation. Still the best chee cheong fun in the island to me.

Don’t ever order the curry. My colleague regretted as it was serve in very small bowl and pricey too. Price was raise because of Penang food hype. Nothing to be shout off with the ingredients and soup.

Ho Kau Hainam Kopitiam is a traditional hainanese coffee shop in Kuala Lumpur. The decor is modernise old school which give a good Instagram picture fir patrons. The coffee and food are very traditional with the bread with kaya (pandan jam) and butter the original taste. Noodles is good too. Service staff are attentive and the seat reservation and ushering system is well organised.
Overall a pleasant experience.
The place tend to be crowded so so go there early at 7+ on a weekend inorder to secure a seat early.

The lobak is crispy, but I disagree with it being the best lobak. Firstly, the ingredient is just average, the sweet sauce overly starchy and it is rather pricey.
The ambra drink was lousy and expensive.

Visited on Saturday for a brunch. There is a que even thought I am alone.
Staff are welcoming, attentive, kind. Bring me a bottle of water after seated.
I was arranging seated on the high chair area. Few hot for this section during the sun shine in.
Food = Flavors combined. Chicken Waffle = taste good & match well with the fried chicken (the fried chicken was juicy)
Nice ambience. Looking for a parking lot are always difficult for this area.
Overall, enjoy the food and had a pleasant experience.

The cafe located in the heart of the town. Feels like good old days joint. Tried the nasi lemak, awesome and delicious. The wantan mee not as expected and it was a disappointment. Drinks are good. Price is lesser than average. Will come again.
Good food & good coffee! Went back recently, the coffee still top notch. But the swap the muffin bread to waffle for the eggs florentine making it a bit sweet. Tried croque monsieur and it was really good.

Always the best prawn paste chee cheong fun since 15 years ago.
The pork knuckle rice is good too. This time also try nasi lemak, nice also
Authentic local kopithiam foods. Take the queuing number from machine, they will call for your number for the table. We were visited with 8 persons and waited for 60min (1 hour) just for the table even thought I was there around 7.45am for take numbering que for the table dine in on Saturday.
Not suitable for a crowed to dine in as waiting time is too long and not to say super good taste on the foods. NOT worth to wait for 1 hour just to try their foods. Noted if 2 to 4 persons numbering of que are run faster (get the table also faster). We had our table on 2nd floor; mind the stair as it was steep. You may also decide to order & take away.
Foods taste overall slightly above average but some are just so so. The coffee if fragrant, rich and is a must for coffee lovers. The Hainanese bread toast (Kaya + Butter) delicious. The Yam cake taste rich of yam.
Service – provided standard normal service. Some foods served are a bit slow, probably due to the peak hours with crowded.
Can be reach by LRT/MRT (Pasar Seni station, walk about 600-700m (about 7-8min).

Old School, Nice And Clean Environment 👍🏻.
Overall - Wan Tan Mee (Is So Tasty, Flavourful And Full With The Pork Lard Fragrance. Noodles Have Fully Absorbed With The Soya Sauces).
Lam Mee (Bee Hoon & Yellow Mee Is Just Nicely Blanched. The Chili Sauce & Garlic Sauce Is Mixed Perfectly With The Lam Mee Gravy 🍜).

This place offers a vintage look with a few stalls available - wantan mee, lor bak, char kuey tiaw etc. Tried the wantanmee and it has mushroom, quite a surprise!

The drinks are somehow disappointing. The chambing (ices coffee mixed tea) is pretty much tasteless and the iced tea is just too sweet.

Parking could be a problem especially during peak hours.
The drinks were good (anyone with a sweet tooth will love more). Everything else is just bad. The half boiled eggs that I had were so cold that I thought it came out from a refrigerator. The nasi lemak is not horrible but is way below average. Not even a mediocre standard. There was a 45mins wait on weekdays lunch. I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here unless you want to join the queue for a below average Malaysian food.
First thing first, I am so impressed with the foods here. I mean the taste and how fast of serving.

Even there are many queues but the staffs can manage the table pretty fast. So I visiting here twice in this month.
The first time was perfect but the second time is a bit less impressed because the delayed of drinks, serving after we finished the meal.

The atmosphere inside is nice and I would say the second floor is calmer than the first floor.

This place is one of a must restaurants to visit in this area.

Suggested by my uncle, who claims their prawn mee surpasses what we have back home. At 9 am, the stall appeared shut, but it was operational, so appearances can be deceiving! Opting for the dry prawn noodles, the portion was modest yet satisfying, and the flavor was rich. While I wouldn't assert it's superior to our local choice, I'd say it's on par!
Second time here and it's still good. Nasi lemak rice fragrant and fried chicken tasty and soft . Nonya laksa tasty and creamy with a hint of spice. Chicken rice balls with steam chicken chicken is delicious. Balls were rolled nicely and full of flavour. Chicken is silky soft and cooked perfectly. Kampong chicken is used. Tea and coffee are ok but the kaya and butter toast is perfectly charred and crispy.

I was truly impressed with this cafe. The entire setup evokes an authentic sense of nostalgia. Although the food was only average, the service was exceptionally friendly. However, waiting for an hour on a weekday was a bit too long. Personally, I visited the cafe to relish the ambiance, and I absolutely loved it. I highly recommend giving it a try if you haven't been there, but do be prepared for a wait.

Overall enjoy the atmosphere more than food.
Must try: Toast, yam cake
Could be better: Food and drink not served hot except nasi lemak, anchovies was hard, fried meehoon and cheongfun gravy were bland (fried onion tasted good though).
Impressed: It has a convenient waiting number system you could view from phone and wander around nearby in stead of waiting in front of the crowded shop. Waited 35 mins to be seated.
Additional info: Takeaway available. Need go up a steep staircase to dine upstairs.

Had to try the famed lor bak place when in Penang. When we we there, we ordered the wan ton mee (dumplings with noodles) and hokkien mee (prawn noodles).

The lor bak tasted more like shrimp than pork to me. But I find it to be quite ok still. Not sure if they were out of tofu or they don't have it at all. Another item to look out for is the shrimp crackers. The wan ton noodles were pretty standard. The hokkien noodles were da bomb tho. Pretty happy to have come across this shop.

The coffee shop is located at a corner of a street. Parking enforcement is pretty strict though, so you'd might want to consider parking at a proper place. Also seating is pretty limited, so you might have to share a table with someone. Overall this little collection of a few hawker stalls should be enough to keep one happy.

A café with a pleasant atmosphere and very competent staff. Everyone was friendly and we didn't wait too long to be seated. We went at 1pm and it was quieter.

The apple crumble was good but a little salty in my opinion, which was unsettling at first, but overall it was a surprising discovery.

And the caramel latte was delicious, the only regret being that there wasn't enough ☕️
One of the best breakfast places in Kuala Lumpur. The food, service and atmosphere were definitely worth the wait, which was around 10 minutes for 3 people when we arrived at 10am.

The Kaya Toast is a must order as it tasted so wonderful. Drip it with the half boiled eggs and it elevated the taste to another level. The chee cheong fun (rice noodle rolls) is another must-try item as it was so smooth and tasty. The teh here was definitely great. Nasi Lemak was drooling as well.

Atmosphere wise, it was historic and had a good old Malaysian-Chinese vibe. We sat on the 2nd floor and the stair was a bit steep so mind your steps.

I recently visited this cafe after praying at the Kek Lok Si temple, and I have to say that it was a wonderful experience. The location is perfect, with easy access from the temple, and the interior is simple yet clean and inviting. The food and drinks were both delicious, and I was impressed by the quality of the ingredients used. What really stood out to me, though, was the staff - they were all young, pretty, and incredibly friendly. They made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in, and went out of their way to ensure that I had a great experience. I couldn't help but think how nice it would be if they used my Atmosphere SKY air filter in their cafe. The air quality would be even better, making for an even more pleasant dining experience. Overall, I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a great meal and a warm, friendly atmosphere

Went on a weekday, so it was not too crowded. Food was good. Price was reasonable. On weekends and public holiday, the wait time was ridiculous. They use a numbering system for the queue. It is not a big shop so they do not have a lot of tables which made the wait time long. Just be prepared to wait up to 2 hours during peak times. Would recommend the curry egg toast. Curry was so good!

Located in the location is a hidden gem. A south indian food stall, that serves Thosa and rice with several tasty dishes.
You can taste the labour of love and passion in the distinct flavour of each dish. I went back twice for lunch. There is also chicken rice stall located at the same place. It is my understanding that the entire store is closed every Sunday.

Nice and affordable local food. There's wanton noodle, coffee and toast, kway teow tng, western breakfast, ban mee.

I had a cafe standard scrambled eggs (lots of layers, fluffy, not too overly cooked - very good) from the Western stall for RM8 (the boss lady Lena is lovely), a kochabi pan mee for RM5.50, and a pretty good kopi o gao siu dai toast and egg set Plus ginger tea for RM 8.10. All in all I had a very decent breakfast. The cafe was crowded but not overly packed at around 8ish when I went.

Another great local kopitiam in JB. Their kopi and teh are full flavor with enough kick. Signature Mee Siam is not to be missed, especially great when you mix with their "hey bee hiam" (dried shrimp chili paste). It is delicious with a fluffy texture. Nasi lemak has good coconut milk aroma, likewise for their rendang chicken. Good deco with a nostalgic touch. Staffs are friendly and prompt. Do bear with them as this place may get busy during weekends and public holidays.

The environment is like a typical kopitiam, packed, tight, hot and stuffy. Many food options here but not all are really worthy of authentic Penang hawker food flavor.
Clean environment with good service. The curry mee is quite nice in my point of view and the chicken slices inside is good in texture.
