Really nice and tasty food, nice people and a good atmosphere! So much enjoyed our vegetarian dishes!
Almost great and yet expensive food, although the fufu was very hard instead of soft food -

Tasty food, big portions, friendly service and reasonable prices. Many vegetarian options too. Will definitely go back!
The food was great, good portions. Bare in mind it's a bit spicy (but not much if you are used to it). Also a good variety of beers.
Had an amazing time here, the food was exceptional. Had some waakye with fish, fufu and peanut soup accompanied with kelewele. The staff were very friendly and he service was good! Would recommend
What a great place!! Eating with hands and drinking from coconuts was a special experience and our waitress was lovely!
The food was great and we shared a portion for three people for the four of us and we have never been this full!
Don't miss on the banana baked dessert and also the first dessert on the menu!!

Place is a bit small and crowded. Service is amazing and staff is very friendly. Food is nice and portions are big but could be nicer.
The music, the setting, the staff and service. It was our first time and we absolutely loved it! We will be back!
Beautifully presented and tasty Ethiopian food. Vegan friendly and the for two can easily feed 3. The spinach, tomato purée and lentils were gorgeous. Staff was happy to have us there.
The food was really good and fresh, needs improvement on staffing. Had Only 1 staff who had too much to do. Food was really nice and made up for the poor customer service. Strongly recommend take away.

- staff was slow, didn’t explain what food was served on the platter. Wondering from which countries the African food is.

The food was great, a lot of vegan options. The staff was friendly and the prices were fine too. However we waited quite a bit. And whilst it was loud, it still felt very welcoming and familiar
I took my family to this restaurant for my birthday. I have been here a year ago and really enjoyed it and this time was no different! Our server was really patient and we felt very welcome. The food was delicious; meat was tender, flavorful and the portions were huge (luckily they will pack the leftovers for you!) They congratulated me so kindlt and gave me my favorite drink as a present. Definitely worth your money!
Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Staff were extremely welcoming, and helping explain dishes we weren't familiar with. The food was some of the best I've had in a long time - delicious! Wholeheartedly recommend trying it out! Really enjoyed the beer from Ethiopia - Bedele.
Average food, no special flavor. Little value for money. In a word, almost disappointingly. Only the wine was ok (a Merlot). Something to try once, but I wouldn’t go back again
We had some Africans beers and the taste and flavor wasn’t very present, kind of lager beer. The food, a plate combining different meals, was something special, a bit spicy and the flavors not too present, overall the taste was somehow in the same direction. The wine, a Merlot from South Africa, was good. The restaurant setup was nice full of colors.
delicious authentic food, the place looks colourful and cozy, makes you feel like you live in a sunny country! I really liked the atmosphere and friendly staff as well. 🥂

First time having African food. It was so good!! Staff really helped me order and explain the menu to help me out!

Mama Essi is like comming home and your mom made your favorite dish! The love you feel there, the art on the walls, the music playing and the taste of the food is so amazing!!!
I have eaten several dishes from this restaurant.
The rice and pepper soup is fine but the soups are a no no, not fresh. Egusi is so dry and vegetables feel like they would actually soon be completely dissolved.
I hope this can be improved. God bless you and keep pushing.

Came back again after a week. We are craving. The authenticity of the food here is mouth-watering, its so flavourful. Before he had Grandma Essi’s Lamb now we both had Fufu with Light soup and Palmnut soup lamb. Worth the travel, worth the wait and worthy to pay.

Choosing between chicken or turkey, I followed the chef's recommendation. The turkey was delicious. Can't remember the last time I had turkey so tasty. Thanks for sharing and see u soon!
Tis my home away from home...the nostalgic feeling while you take the first bite of those suya, mouth watering Egusi/Vegetable soup n pounded yam. How can I miss having grilled fish with plantain (dodo). My take away of Nigerian Jollofrice with Chicken 🍗. Catch me here at most weekend for a plate of pepper soup n bottle of 🍻
I’m not from the area or even the country but the workers here made us feel at home when we were at this restaurant and all the customers were very nice 🇳🇱♥️🇺🇸 The food was also very good, I have never had Nigerian food before this and it was a good impression
Highly recommended! The walls inside are so pretty, the vibe was just amazing! I think it's a family business, where you would see a small girl is also helping, how cute!

Really great authentic african cuisine. The portions fill you up and you don't pay overpriced prices for it. The waitress was very friendly and personable, an elderly gentleman. The wait time for the food was great. About 10-15 minutes that went by quickly. We can highly recommend the restaurant. By the way: There is also halal meat here, for whom that is important. And if you don’t like hot spicey food you can also ask for the dish you wish without hot spices.
Fantastic place to have quality food! Every item on their menu was delicious. Yes, we got different meals on their menu and they were delicious. Traveled all the way from Amsterdam (actually from the US) to get myself this!
The food looks amazing and tastes even more amazing!! We were super full but we could not stop eating🥹very worth it. They have variety of dishes to select from so will be going back to eat some moreee 🫶🏼
The people there were extremely kind and their food was spectacular, my first time having Nigerian cuisine and it was well worth it, I had the Tilapia and it looked just as good as it tasted. I want to be specific about their kindness, their food on top of their service is everything I ask from a restaurant. I wish the best for them, always!

The best Africa Restaurant I have visited in Europe, nice food and drinks, me and my family love it .Is Affordable, when i visit Rotterdam i will always come ., friendly workers. I Recommend the Restaurant..❤❤❤❤❤
