I had a great time here. The food is delicious and it's so fun seeing it cooked in front of you. It's very pricey but if you can afford it, it's definitely worth it.
We had a great experience at the teppanyaki table. The chef was clearly an expert who knew what he was doing and put up a nice show for us. The food truly was delicious, especially the lobster was the best we've ever eaten. You get a good amount of food, you definitely won't leave hungry.
Good staff whom kept an eye out for everything. They were always around, so almost no waiting if you needed anything. Very friendly too, good conversations to be had.
It is kind of pricey, but totally worth it! We had an amazing night here.

The service is top-notch like all the Hotel Okura restaurants. It is a bit slow if you are a fast-eater.

Authentic teppanyaki and they have A5 Wagyu!!! If you are lucky you get master chef Jacky at your table.
Top quality food and service. The decor and atmosphere are relaxing and fun. One of us had the classic menu and the other had the seasonal and both were excellent. The staff were so friendly and efficient too.

Came for dinner with my partner whilst on holiday and had booked this venue for dinner due to the good reviews, safe to say we were not disappointed as the food and service were amazing - we did the tappanyaki experience and were both blown away with the food, the great service was simply an added bonus. Compliments to the tappanyaki chef as he made the experience one to remember, we will definitely be back

We chose the Umi menu twice (1 person had food allergies, the waiter was able to take this into account immediately). Miso soup was tasty, sushi melted away on the tongue, tenderloin was very tender,...

Food was okay, it was a bit too salty for my taste. They are flexible with what you prefer. Although, they do rude remarks like when we wanted our wagyu “well done” someone said “it is a waste”. Part of our companions, their culture doesn’t include eating raw meat.

- if you are looking for a place where the chef talk about about the food they serve this is not the place for it.
- we were in the table where they pass all the dirty dishes and raw meats/seafood. The entire time our chairs was getting pushed back or there was a dish on top of our heads. I was on the look out the entire time. This was a really bad experience for me the whole night. I wish they can improve on this.
If you have seafood allergies:
- they cook meat & seafood together if you order both, so need to be aware of this

This was an incredible experience. It was quite satisfying to see the chef preparing the food. The food was of high quality and the service was also great.

Amazing! We had a 5-course teppanyaki menu. The steak and the salmon had a fascinating, smokey aroma. We're perfectly cooked and tender. My son got his wish menu in exchange. The entire night was accommodating, and the cookshow was incredible as well. The staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend and definitely we're going back again! Therefore, they deserved my 5 stars!
Amazing experience . I went there to celebrate my graduation with my family. The whole service team was extremely friendly , knowledgeable and nice. You can see that they are trained and know how to handle guests. Bravo to them . Especial thank you want to say to two Japanese waitresses that serve us. The food was also delicious with good portion . We were full on halfway already . The chef Sin , thank you so much for your hard work. The show was mesmerising. Hopefully, we will back soon. Recommend everyone to come here
I recently dined at Hosokawa and while the food, especially the wagyu, lived up to expectations, the overall experience was ruined by a number of service-related issues.
To begin with, the service provided by the Asian male server was nothing short of disappointing. His demeanor was consistently rude, failing to offer even a basic greeting or acknowledgment. This was particularly evident when I informed him of my lactose intolerance, to which he responded with indifference and walked away. Right from the beginning of the night, when we just settled in out seats, he forcefully placed the menu in front of my face without a word of greeting. Even a simple request, like changing my boyfriend's chopsticks, was met with silence and a lack of courtesy. Furthermore, when another server made an error by omitting a "slide of fresh passion fruit" from my drink, it was the same server who returned with a half a passion fruit, dropping it into my glass without a word, still maintaining his unpleasant attitude. His behavior was the most frustrating aspect of our evening.
Furthermore, there was a notable lack of explanation of the dishes from the staff. This left us feeling somewhat uninformed and disconnected from the dining experience. However, I must commend another staff member who noticed the issue with my drink and offered to make a replacement, which was a nice gesture.
Additionally, the appetizer, tuna, was served cold, dry, and tough, which significantly impacted our overall dining experience. The disappointment extended to the dessert as well. Waiting 20 minutes for a bowl of sour sorbet with underwhelming fruit cuts and irrelevant juice floating at the bottom left much to be desired. While I understand the limitations due to my lactose intolerance, a proactive approach to inform me of the dessert change and offer alternatives would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
The overall impression left by the waiting staff was one of unprofessionalism, unwelcoming behavior, and frankly, disrespect. In light of these service-related issues, I hope the management takes steps to rectify these shortcomings.

I am usually not a big meat eater but this restaurant has definitely changed mind! Black Angus and Wagyu beef were delicious and prepared with so much skill and effort! Wow! Definitely recommend the live-cooking chef’s table experience. Personal interaction with the chef makes the dinner so much more unique and fun! Great wine and sake selection too. Very impressive!!
I celebrated my graduation here on Friday and everything was outstanding! Amazing food, considerate staff, and just the perfect atmosphere. They also made the effort to write a congratulatory message on my dessert plate. Will be back!
We went to have some sushi for dinner. The sushi was ok, nothing extraordinary. The price for the service was expensive and for a bottle of wine from Spain was 45€. The bottle did not had cork, for me that's not acceptable. I have to say that I do not have done the menu with the chef in front of you and it seems cool, but only for very high budgets.

We went for the 5 course teppanyaki. I would highly recommend having salmon. Absolutely loved it! The dessert was also very good and light! The experience and service were top class. Great time over all!

Amazing food, we ordered a la carte bc the tasting menu seemed to be too much food for us. We ordered the lobster as an appetizer, then waygu sirloin as a main course with mushrooms and broccoli and veggie fried rice. Highly recommend it. Our chef Rito was amazing and so meticulous! We really enjoyed watching his focus while cooking. Truly an artist. Love this place and will definitely come back.

I first went here with my wife and friends in 2019 and it was amazing, from the food, to the service and atmosphere. From then It became the standard that we compared all teppanyaki restaurants to and none have lived up to here.
I've found myself in Amsterdam on business twice in the last 6 weeks and both times I've made reservations here. The food and service are still the same high quality level even though the staff has completely changed since 2019.
The atmosphere is really about luck as it's highly dependent on who your fellow diners are. If you book a whole table for a party then you'll be fine. But if you book as a couple, the atmosphere is only as good as the other dinners on the table. This is all part of the teppanyaki experience and it's the same rule of thumb wherever you go. We've been lucky most of the time to have fun and friendly fellow diners.
It's a fun experience which is very social and be ready to be entertained by your chef and make new friends with your fellow diners l

The place is nice and the employees are really friendly. The food is amazing, I enjoyed the teppanyaki. Overall, it was a great place, I recommend it. It's a bit expensive but it's worth it. I will come back again.
I got the vegan option of teppanyaki around 64.00 euros + 1 lychee juice. You can request them not to use butter for the frying. The meal started with a salad (delicious).

Dinner night with work colleagues, what an experience, of course the Japanese etiquette and friendliness to the top, very helpful and focused but relaxed staff, Nice space, great atmosphere, easy to get there, Thursday evening was a bit empty when we arrived but after a few minutes it got really busy, I mean we were alone in the beginning the six of us and later this poor guy was cooking simultaneously for three more couples... and still next level attention to the smallest details of food presentation for all dishes being prepare AND explained on front of you... If you are in town, for an especial occasion and looking for a real cooking experience... this is it. Thank you guys, I wish I remember the name of our chef, very nice guy.

Nice place to have some quality food being prepared right in front of you. Multiple menu options to fit your diet: fish, chicken and other meats. Also the vegetables and rice made in front of you are of an excellent level.
Next to the tepanyaki there are also options for sushi, deserts and soups. The place is a little bit small and might feel people sitting close to you.
However a really nice experience for not too much money. Would recommend whenever you are in the Amsterdam Rai area.

The atmosphere and interior look amazing. I sat in a giant cage. The food was delicious. The staff was nice. The price is high. Rice, mie or bami needs to be ordered separately which cost 5 euro. I had Chicken Hawai. It was tasty. I recommend this place.

So far I had a Tonkatsu (Ramen) broth and a friend of mine had the Shoyu broth. Comparing both of our meals, the general ingredients were kept the same, expect for the meat.
I liked that the broth themselves were flavourful enough but not too salty either. The egg was a little cold but other than that, I very much enjoyed it, especially considering the price!
I'll definitely come back, if not for the ramen then to try out the different dishes!

The Wagyu menu was amazing, the little foie gras rolls are just incredible. Service was also very welcoming and attentive. Cosy atmosphere, and the chef doesn't waste time doing all that fancy stuff you normally see at Teppen Yaki places - just good old fashioned amazing food and nice Sake.
Fantastic food! The steak and salmon were perfectly cooked, very tender on the inside. The steak had a fascinating smokey aroma, making me fall in love immediately. The appetizer had a crispy outside, and it was marinated with rich flavors. The Japanese black sesame ice cream had a lovely surprising ice-crystal texture, different from common ice cream. The chef was very professional and attentive. Definitely recommend! Definitely coming back!

First they thought i was making a joke with them on the phone. After arriving i had to wait for my food. When i ate it i didnt notice anything. But then i woke uo with big stomachache that night and wasnt able to sleep from 3.30 am. So u know.
It took a while for the cook to arrive at the plate. Then it took more time as others got their food. The food was quite ok but was sometimes overcooked. the pork was too salty unfortunately. Then we got a really long break before a new chef made the last two dishes. we sat from 18:30 until 21:45 which was far too long. If it was done in 2 hours the score would have been much higher.
Food was delicious and from the moment I arrived the service was A+.

We ordered sweet & sour chicken, but got chicken dipped in some weird sweet lumpy sauce which didn't match at all. Some of us got pretty sick cause of the chicken, GET IT OFF THE MENU!! Our next order was just plain fried rice. For the price we payed it wasn't awfully much. We had to eat with 4 people and still had a hungry belly after. We also had to pay for 1 euro for 4 plastic plates!! A big nope, never ever going back! (As feedback to the person who replied to me: YES , I was in BORNE. 1 portion should be enough for 4 people, every chinese restaurant I went to had the same. And that whole part about Mcdonalds wasn't necessary, I am more complaining about the quality of the food that was given to us that day. The way you quote that we got "sick" doesn't appear like a genuine apology, that you take this more lightly than it should be. The reply I got is simply rude to the bottom, so low, that's not how you talk to your costumers.)
Very nice place, I had dinner inside a giant bird cage! Food was good, loved the dumplings. The hotsauce was actually hot, which was a very pleasant surprise.
