I went for a student night a couple weeks ago, and let me telll you something it was theeeee WORST clubbing i experience in my whole life. We waited outside for a bit, till some more people left, so we're thinking wow this place must be packed. NO, it was emptyyyyyyyyyy. The music single handedly ruined the night, the dj's consistently merked every banger known to man-kind.It was so bad people were sitting on a sofa in the middle of the dancefloor. PLUS we had to pay for the bathroom, madness i say. Spent a good amount of money for a bad-experience. If you like techno, this isn't the place for you.
Went for the Third Party 'Release' label night at ADE. Had a great experience. One annoying lady who was kind of spying on the toilets (did find this a little creepy) event was fantastic and most of the staff were great.
If you are a hard and dark techno person you might get disappointed in Shelter. Yes it’s a techno club and music can be very good but the atmosphere is not dark techno. It’s like you see people of ordinary clubs in the centre in a techno club 😝
Very bad DJ's, everyone can be "DJ" in theese days, simply put USB and mix (steal) songs, genres that has nothing to do with common sense, in the dressing room they take 1.5€, the ticket says 1€, the music is very very loud, probably 110 decibels for such a small space, and quite a bit more expensive compared to last year at ADE. the security guards were polite, they let you out to light a cigarette and back again...
All the negative rating is from intoxicated people, who cannot behave. I was also sceptical, because we were attending big ADE show but the reality never lies. Security team is kind and professional. The “ticket checking” lady was nice and understood that we cannot load the ticket because of poor signal. They let us out and then back without any problem. Barmans were also nice and even when they started closing, still gave a drink. I also met older lady, she was washing the toilets and she was funny, talkative and even dancing!
When you are leaving at 5 AM, the bouncers can be a bit frustrated after 8+ hours shift during night. But they always say good bye! There was no fight, no kicking out of club.

Awful Experience - Zero stars
With over 18 years attending music venues for a wide variety of events, I can honestly say that this is the worst venue I have ever visited!
We were supposed to be watching the Colorize event as part of this week’s ADE. As an avid fan of a number of the artists on the Colorize label, this event was expected to be one of the highlights of my trip to Amsterdam. Whilst I had read some pretty damning reviews of the venue prior to attending, I wasn’t expecting….
The trouble started as soon as we arrived in the entry queue, with staff and security treating customers like cattle in a pen, seemingly letting only one person enter the premises every five minutes.
When my friends and I haphazardly managed to reach the front of the queue, we were told that ID and tickets needed to be presented. Unfortunately one of my friends only had a photo of his passport on his phone (we’re in our mid 30’s) and upon telling security, they tried to turn away the full group. Eventually one of the group had to leave (over 20 Euros for the ticket down the drain) and we were allowed to enter. An older couple (40’s) were also turned away for not having ID.
Upon entry to the club, you HAVE to put your coat into the cloakroom and pay €1,50 for the privilege. Whilst this is not a great sum of money, given the rigmarole to enter the club in the first place, plus the rude and arrogant manner of staff up to this point, the experience had already been ruined.
We arrived inside just in time to see Klur whom I was most looking forward to from the lineup. Unfortunately, most people were still stuck outside in the rain and midway through Klur’s set there were technical difficulties with sound lost for nearly a full song.
The club itself was reasonable, but nothing to write home about.
We left after just over an hour, unable to enjoy the event. Security had the audacity to ask why we were leaving (after being a key reason why the event had been spoilt). At this point, people were still struggling to enter the venue.
Quite why ADE have allowed this venue to hold events beggars belief.

The club that started the high end scene in Amsterdam. Still one of the best clubs with great atmosphere and awesome soundsystem. Def worth checking out.
Firstly the bouncers were a bit impatient. Then, when we went in there was a lady that was taking people’s coats but I didn’t want to give mine. She said to give and I said no I don’t want to. Then she said either I give it to her or she throws me out (keep in mind I had already paid almost 10 euros for the tickets), and so I had to pay an extra 1.50 euro, even though inside it was really cold with AC blasting on our backs.
Afterwards I wanted to go to the bathroom, when I saw a girl being pushed towards the wall by the cleaning lady. The girl had just gone to the wrong bathroom and she was grabbed by the woman and slammed to the wall!! The bouncer came and grabbed the girl and pulled her to the exit… I have no words, that was really unfair. Apparently that same woman had grabbed other girls and even punched one.
Overall the most horrible experience I’ve had at a club. DONT GO THERE!!!

if i could give lower, i would. bouncers were extremely rude and i never even got let into the club despite having proof of my age + paying to get on the guest list. the club was rented out for a close friend of mine’s birthday and around 150 people didn’t get let in because of the bouncers. never go to this club please.
THE WORST NIGHTCLUB IN AMSTERDAM. Simply put the bouncers here are impatient, rude, aggressive, and COMPLETELY unreasonable. The cue was still packed two hours after opening people waiting ages to only get denied in a matter of seconds without reasonable explanation. So after waiting 1.5 hours to get in I made it inside after the rudest interaction with a bouncer. 5 minutes in one friend gets grabbed by the shoulder and shoved out of the club for wearing a backpack, and another female friend gets pushed down the stairs and then out of the entrance of the club. Club was empty by 01:30 AM. The worst service I have ever seen for a dead club, please go anywhere but here.
Love going here, definitely one of my favorite going-out spots :) The people are amazing and the music is great! Great atmosphere.
Definitely one of the better clubs in Amsterdam! The new owners ensure that Jimmy Whoo becomes a high end club with beautiful people again and that is great.
Bartenders kept charging me different prices when I ordered the same drinks. They tried to charge me €14 for a grolsh and a cider so I called them out, they said it was an accident and reduced the charge by more than €5. Terrible to take advantage of people trying to have a good night
We were looking for a good party, not too far and with good music. We didn't expect much from a monday night. And yet, we got here.

We had a night out with the Nightlife Ticket. And bought a special event Ticket for club prime. We arrived midnight and the place was already crowded with an out going crowded. We had some delicious cocktails and had private seats on the second floor. We had a great night out. Thanks amsterdam nightlife for the experience. Also Thanks to the staff from club prime. Hands up.
Nice nightclub which is open every night. We went on a Wednesday and there were a still good amount of people. The security guys are very nice and had a good laugh with them as well. Would recommend
Worst club I've ever been to. The tickets were so damn pricey, and yet you still have to pay for locker AND bathroom. Drinks were mediocre. Crowd was so so so terrible, just like the music. It was supposed to be hiphop r&b night but it totally was not it. 1% of the people actually danced, most of them were single men hunting.
This location isn't a proper club, it's like a little bar with loud music. The Room is very small and the decorations seem like they are from a nightclub in the eighties. The music is a weird mix of 90s, reggaeton and some techno elements. The average age in the club I would guess was in the mid 20s or older. The DJs sometimes dragged the song transitions out for several minutes, simply too long. All in all the club is only open till 2pm and nearly empty at 23:30. The toilets weren't cleaned properly. All in all a bad club experience. Except the personal, no other thing was nice this evening.
We took the VIP table, we paid €850 for 11 persons. Service was excellent, superb club with high security, amazing atmosphere and cool DJ, he played some oldies and new remixes which was great to dance too. Love it cause it’s smoke free. Worth it for a night out!
Entry during weekdays 12,50€ for men. Toilet 1€ per visit. Locker 5€ but you can share with up to 4 people depending on how thick the coats are.
The music was too loud. On Tuesday it hit 107 db very often. I recommend ear plugs, you can buy them there for 4€.

The vibe was good for a Wednesday night. The only thing is you don't get a both when you buy a bottle . Not even a place to sit. I like the fact that even bar drinks are served in glasses. That's classy compared to the West. The Venue is great, spacious and the DJ wasn't bad.
22.5 euros to get inside, 2 euros to use the bathroom, long line to the only bar and expansive alcohol. Worst club ever!!! Also very bad music!!
Danced my feet off here for a great night out! Great customer service by bar staff, toilets relatively clean for how hectic it was! Great lighting, respectful security leaving peaceful dancing patrons to their partying. Will go back next time I need a good night in Amsterdam
Saturday night I was abused by the security.
I was standing at the entrance talking on my phone and two members of the security asked me to stand somewhere else (which I immediately did), and after 5 minutes a different member of security came along she screamed at me grabbed me by my arm and pushed me out.
It was a very violent way, I’m still speechless, just to clarify my weight is 55Kg the staff member was probably three times my own weight, there was really no need to be so aggressive against me, that was an abuse of power.
If you want have fun and feel safe in a club, this is a place to avoid, cause security seems to have fun hurting people that are physically not as strong as them.
I really think Police should be involved in this cause could be dangerous.

Had an amazing time with this ticket! I got entry to the best clubs and even some festivals. I noticed that buying this ticket helped me save a lot of money that I would've spent if I bought each ticket to each club separately. Really recommend!
Very long queue outside (approx 1hr at 1am) even for ticket holders (people without tickets were getting in faster, ugh), crowd isn’t the best (tons of people here more to pose than to dance), water is super expensive, the staff isn’t welcoming. Music was a bit of a let down too, but I’m sure it’s good most other nights.

Pretty decent, welcoming small club - bring at least two 2 euro coin if going. They have lockers onsite, which ONLY accept 2 euro coins, which are great for locking up belongings. It was liberating to dance freely without holding on to stuff. The club has a no phone policy, which I personally enjoyed. I think it helped people be present with the music and each other. People generally are friendly but not invasive. As a female who went by herself, I felt safe dancing freely.
Schizophrenic dj changes genre every 30 seconds. Pop classics from the 90s and raggaeton, the marks of cowardice. Place smaller than it looks.

I was very reluctant about going to this place because of all of the reviews saying the bouncers etc are racist. Luckily I didn’t have that experience at all. The bouncer and all servers were nice and helped two African Americans with directions too! Hope things stay that way!
this club actually deserves 0 stars. FOR ALL TOURISTS WHO WANT TO PARTY, AVOID THIS CLUB, RIP OFF AND SCAM. I've been to many places in the world but never seen a club like this. it starts with the staff who are very unfriendly and make you feel uncomfortable. we booked a vip table and also paid 100 euros in advance. when we arrived they started looking for problems with us. then after we decided to cancel they didn't give us back the 100 euro deposit and insisted it was their right to keep it. This club has completely misunderstood the principle of hospitality. if you want to have a nice evening then avoid this place
The people who work at the door are so bad that they claim to be the owners of the club but I know they only work nights in it. Security wanted to push me hard. This happened tonight. There is no compelling reason for that.

Very nice and stuff is very friendly. But for toilet 1 euro and for locker you can pay 2 euro
High prices (9€ entrance, 5€ lock room and every jacket should be off, 9€ rum&cola), cheap qual (worst sound quality ever, miserable service).
If you have a basic taste for going out, avoid this place.

I could go into a long explanation of how lame this place is but I won’t even waste my time doing that. It is 3 stars for a reason, just walk down the street and enjoy the other clubs.
All cocktails are not €5 on Wednesdays, it’s just four specific cocktails. I tried three of them and they were okay. Nice seating area outside. Staff are nice ☺️
Had a blast at their re-opening last weekend! Enjoyed the night with a group of friends! The new owners have done a great job, brings back old, good, memories!! Have read bad reviews from their previous owner but with the new guys in it’s definitely worth the visit again!!
Most amazing club i’ve been in a decade! Door policy is strickt but if you get in you will immediately get why. The best crowd of Amsterdam is there and they intent to keep it that way. Top of my list.
Went here for the re-opening in the hope that they would have made the necessary changes and i can confidently say that they did. Had one of the best nights here ive had in a while, great staff, people and door hosts. Definitely will be coming back!
The event I paid for was not actually taking place - wasted my money and my night. I wrote two emails requesting a refund - both were ignored.
A friendly guy made sure we didn't have to pay the entrance fee, which was nice! Cocktails limited to only two types, why?
Booked a cocktail workshop for my boyfriends birthday. Niko, our bartender was very nice and chatty. We are both bartenders so I was worried the class might be boring but we learnt a few things and enjoyed ourselves. The reason I didn’t give 5 starts is the venue is very dark and the toilets were not the cleanest.
Amsterdam central has lots of pubs and bars to visit especially in the red light district. Always something to do and see highly recommend. Amazing experience

Fun place, great atmosphere and music. Bartender took 50 euros from me and claimed I only gave her 10, then walked away when I asked her to check. I'd advise using a debit card if possible

Booked and paid weeks in advance for my partner's birthday, only to have them cancel on me 3 days before because someone rented out the whole club. Really unprofessional, greedy behaviour.
Were denied entry even though we bought tickets online. No refund possible due to "I don't have anything to due with online". Guy at the door clearly missed some braincells and was unable to communicate in a proper manner. AVOID.
I am very surprised! I thought it was going to be like any rip-off place in Amsterdam, but it's really not! Entrance is free if you take your ticket in advance on Evenbrite, cloakroom is free, dance music is pretty good and drink are incredibly affordable. 4 euro for a beer. Never seen in a club. What is more, staff are absolutely adorable and respectful. Enough writing now. Will enjoy the night here!
A very odd vibe for women. They had weird regulations about jumpers - apparently fleeces weren't allowed (because they look more like coats than jumpers), and they were 'fine' with other jumpers unless tied around your waist?! When we got in it was 99% men which made us very uncomfortable, and also most of them had jackets on!
It actually is a legitimate offer, where you can explore several places around the city. Also the addition of special entry to one mentioned club per night went well via email after booking the ticket. I recommend a bit of patience, someone is really going to do it. Thanks a lot!
Empty at 1:20am on a Saturday in April
I do not recommend. The staff was really rude especially the 2 male bouncers and the ticket staff girl at the entrance. They assumed that we were not 21+ without checking our IDs and didn’t let us go inside while there were literally 15 years old looking girls coming out of the bar. I felt so ashamed when they told me to leave for no reason. The bouncer became so aggressive as well. One of the worst experiences in Amsterdam, worst bar in Leidseplein.
Kopstootbar has a great atmosphere, friendly staff, and is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. I celebrated my birthday here and I was very pleased by the support from the bar staff, always accommodating and helpful. A special feature is the bar and club concept. As the night wears on, it gradually transforms into a club with house/disco music, which makes both chilled evenings and party in one possible.
Absolute banger of a bar! Have the time of my life every-time i go. The music is great, the drinks are delicious and the bartenders are amazing, in particular two young men gur and barend. I always catch them working super hard and trying their absolute best. If you’re looking to go somewhere on the weekend this is the place to be. You will have a blast guaranteed!
Great bar and amazing vibes! There were 2 bartenders, who’s names are Gur and Barend, who were one of the nicest members of staff I have ever encountered. Later in the evening they start playing louder disco-music and it’s perfect to dance and grab drinks with friends or your partner. Would definitely recommend.
Definitely there are better places to be rather than this place. The staff is rude and they treat you as you are not even an human being.
Besides that, music is too loud and the layout of the bar is dangerous. Getting drinks takes you a lot of time.
Anyway, I recommend going somewhere else, especially if you are not Dutch. Nobody goes out with their friends to be poorly treated in some bad venue.

The club was unforgettable. The bouncers were so nice and friendly. The bartenders were super cool. Even the lady who cleans the toilets was chill. I love it here. Seriously was an unforgettable experience❤️

This club is in Leidseplein centrum around 400 meter from Rijksmuseum. Club is very small and but good for small group and party.
Drinks are available inside and locker are also available to put your luggage, Locker charge is €2 which is fine but the only problem is you can only open the locker once, if you want to take out some luggage and want to close it again then it will charge €2 again, which is not feasible.
Also the toilets were not clean, if we talk about music then they only play beats music mainly.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. First time to Amsterdam first club i went into, you need to teach your staff some manners and stop provoking people. Staff very rude. Slow music, unpopular. I wish I went to another night club. Avoid this one. €450 per table + €300 need to be spent on a table.
I like this club very much. My favourite in the centrum. Enough space for dancing, good electronic music that can be interesting for a wide range of interests, good air circulation, comfortable smoking area inside, good bar with some seats to take a break and nice stuff. If you are looking for something regular, safe and casual, this is a good option
The music was not really what we were looking for and the DJ kept shouting into the microphone. I guess it depends on the label but the location is nice and central.
some nights are ok, but latin nights play one spanish song every 3 hours. latinophobia at its finest. other nights don’t play music people can dance to. very straight too where are the gays
Love this place. Fairly new venue in Amsterdam but the sound system is great. Best on Friday and Saturday. Great vibe of people. Make sure to get tickets in advance so no door sale is required.
Last weekend I had two great nights out with the Amsterdam Nightlife Ticket. We went to have some drinks in different bars and ended the evening at the club. It was a really fun way to discover the city! :))
Got invitation from one of the friend, I was visited this club with my group of friends, 12 people, very nice place. A lot bad comments about security and staff, seems like is fake reviews , a lot of them so friendly and very cool people, nice talk with them. Also had a talk with female security she was nice, no rude at all. I think is the best techno club in Amsterdam! Highly recommended! For sure will back again!
Unbelievable how rude, arrogant and aggressive the staff was. This place tops my list of places to avoid in Amsterdam. It was so bad that I was just left confused at how people could think this kind of energy would attract customers. We just watched as staff scolded, yelled at and dismissed numerous customers. Also thought it was funny to see other reviews saying the place smelled like vomit.. theyre not lying.
Great place with a friendly atmosphere and positively crazy staff. We booked a table and bottle service in advance and it hit the spot. We were treated truly royal and our comfort and fun were taken care of in an above-average way. The music was fine as well and I think a lot of people will be able to enjoy themselves. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Amsterdam.
Security is very unprofessional here. Queue of people with tickets is managed really badly as doormen too busy joking with friends and queue skipping girls they like. Price of drinks is very expensive. Vibe in the club is not entirely comfortable due to lack of authority from security allowing too many idiots in. Positives are the sound system is very good and DJ was also good.
I wanted to gave it a try, i came all the way from Almere for this class, came 3 minutes late and they closed their doors, i have never experience this in a spinning class. Can not say anything about the class unfortunately

Best spin class in Amsterdam! Awesome location (where else can you take a class in the middle of a club!?), great music, vibe and instructors. I wasn't expecting to discover Rocycle but I'm so glad I did! Back in ATL now and my gym - Effect Fitness - does spin on a different level too. 💪🏾
I used to love this studio, but it's gotten really disorganised now that more people are attending. Today a staff member took my reserved bike and told me to sit somewhere else- I ended up accidentally taking someone else's bike and it created a domino effect. Totally appreciate if the staff want to attend the class, but when it's a fully booked class and there's virtually no free bikes, they shouldn't be taking bikes reserved for paying customers and messing up the system.
Sign up for a class. Get there before the class starts, they have no signs for Rocycle and you can’t get in ! Waste of time! Someone please start a spin class!

Staff at the entry was nice, the girl explained they are now called Oliva. Drinks were at regular prices, the entry ticket was 15 EUR, a bit too expensive in my opinion. Music was ok and they were three areas: one with a small bar where there was good music but nobody was dancing, another one which was the main one, lots of people dancing and a third one with some people dancing (it seems this part also has a restaurant but not 100% sure). Good thing is that they are lockers but they cost 2 EUR.
Good sound system and nice djs. I liked that it has two rooms and an indoor smoking area.
The crowd is not my type of people though. There are lots of people who've put way to much effort into their looks and you can tell they are looking for each other, if you know what I mean.

For what I'm used to its quite small. We went on a ' house ' night which was in my opinion the same music for hours on end. No vocals and monotone, but thats just my opinion of house.

Great party, I had lots of fun. Rather small place, this club is not a huge playground but rather a very cosy place with two scenes. No huge crowd, no problem to get a beer at the bar. Definitely my favourite in Amsterdam.
Fantastic place. Great dancers, and really good music. A great club if your looking for a more local attomosphere. Does anyone know what genre of music it is that was playing in the first room early on last night? Absolutely loved it. 4 stars only because second room took much longer to open than expected.
Small, but good music and dj , if u r near then good option ,otherwise there are better options in city ,i had good time here though , underground club with nice crowd.
went when riddims w/sticky situation were there and it was an awesome night. we were let in straight away without any hassle at all. the staff were really friendly and having as good a time as everyone else, dancing and singing. great atmosphere and pretty cheap too our tickets were €10 each and a round of drinks for 4 people was averaging at €18. was a great night would recommend!!
Fantastic club! 2 rooms. Small and intimate. Great atmosphere. Has little extra room at front serving grilled cheese and other drunken food. Alcohol served right to close (7am when I went). House and techno heaven. Only dumb thing is they charge 50 cents for bathroom access for the night.
The music was nice and unique but not very danceable (at least it wasn't at the 2 o'clock hour). The drinks were fine. The atmosphere was pretty cool. On the whole, didn't live up to the hype.

Have gone to club up countless times. Its my favorite club i've ever been to in Amsterdam. Really good music (I like techno/tech house nights) Really friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Don't listen to any poor reviews. :)
