It is a great place to learn about honey from the bee hive to the finished product. They have a wide variety of honeys to taste and purchase. Made with honey and other materials are lotions and creams for various uses on our bodies. Honey mead is also available for those over 18 years. Some items for young children are also there⁰
We had a wonderful experience at Beetopia 🐝 the owner is so friendly and has a great knowledge about bees. She gave us orientation about bees behavior and different kind of honey products. We tasted different varieties of honey and prices are affordable too
Highly recommend this place ⭐️
If you're lucky enough to be able to spend some time in Beetopia and meet the lovely owner, you will be in for an amazing experience. You are greeted with the warm and delicate smells of delicious beeswax. The host's knowledge of bees, beekeeping, and honey was truly awesome; she gave us such an insight into the amazingly complex lives of bees from their biology and physiology to their society and their complex behaviour. She helped us understand the importance of advocating for bee life, not only the honey bees but also our local native bees which are so often overlooked. We had the pleasure of enjoying a delicious honey tasting of some rare and unique honeys with distinctive flavours. This was really an enlightening and fun experience. I highly recommend it this was truly a massive highlight of my time visiting Matakana
Wonderful place to visit when you’re around and about in Omaha. The lovely owner showed us around, shared some interesting facts about bees and the place and let us try some of the honey. The owner informed us that she also does tours for groups of kids - preschool and above, where they get an opportunity to learn about the life of bees and honey making. 100% recommend.
First time here looking for different flavored honey and found what I was looking for. They have a variety of honeys and lotions too. They sell coffee and ice cream all honey-fied. I got the ginger, lemon and cinnamon ones great taste!
I recently attended a beginners Beekeeping Course with Grass at Beetopia. Its the perfect location to learn all you want to know about honey bees! I was very impressed with the amount of information that was shared at both the indoor and outdoor venues, and the practical session was extremely well managed. I highly recommend this course! Or just visit the Honey Tasting Shed and enjoy all the informative displays, different honey samples, and a wide variety of bee'autiful related products for sale. A truly remarkable, sensory experience.
Grass leads a wonderfully informative workshop presented in a manner full of interest to beekeeping beginners and with hands-on experience with beehives. Perfect also for anyone with an interest in finding out more about bees and ensuring their welfare when they are so important to our environment.
It was a fantastic experience for a day trip to Matakana. We randomly searched on Google Maps and got onto this honey location by chance, and the staff was very kind and knowledgeable.  We were able to taste many varieties of honey and learn about the queen bee without being forced to purchase any products.
What a great experience! We had a super introduction with Grass, which then took us to the beehives and explained everything in detail! We could - of course in full protective gear - open the beehives ourselves and look for the queen (which we found!).
Thereafter, we had a honey tasting with a lot of explanation.
We enjoyed the 90 minutes with our „bee-queen“ Grass and recommend Beetopia to everyone from near or far!
We had a wonderful experience at Beatopia. We did the half hour, educational experience and were entertained and learned more than we thought was possible about bees. We came away from the experience with a deep respect for bees, the owners outlook on bees, and with some fabulous honey. I highly recommend this for families, as well as singles and couples. This experience is something everyone would enjoy.

Wide variety of honey for tasting. Educational and a family favorite for years. Bring your own containers to buy honey in bulk price!
Helpful staff giving us info on getting the type of honey that we want.

Cheaper per kg to bring your own container and use the liquid honey dispenser than prepacked tubs

Lots of flavours to choose from.
So impressed by their huge selection of honey. I was so happy to see that they have a tasting bar, which allowed me to try different varieties before making a purchase. My favorite honey flavors were thyme and pohutukawa.

In addition to the honey, I also tried their ice cream, which was delicious. I especially loved the almond manuka flavor.

I highly recommend stopping by this honey shop and cafe if you're passing through Warkworth. The variety of honey and tasty treats are definitely worth a visit!
I love coming to the honey centre and watching the busy bees and sampling all the awesome honey.

Strangely the avo blend is one of my favourites, then the mochachino, and then the cherry brandy.

I taste tested some of the mead, and that was also delicious.

I also tried some of their lotions, which left my hands super soft.

The lady at the counter was very friendly.

The coffee shop was closed for some reason, which was disappointing.

There are lots of things to sample and buy in the shop.
Such a sweet place, not just because they sell and provide highest quality of honey 🍯

My husband and I visited this place with our friend named Gaurav who has been an avid fan of New Zealand’s highest quality of honey.

We had a lovely long drive, with scenic views, and I must appreciate the greenery in this country.

The both of us wanted to buy Manukau honey (in liquid and cream form). They taste delicious, and has numerous health benefits when consumed in moderation. ☺️

We learnt so much about honey, tasted a plethora of honey samples and my favourite was Lavender infused creamed honey & Thyme infused which can be overpowering for some people. They also had samples of bee venom, which I did not gather the courage to try #fearfactor.

Above all, we learnt that the king of the beehive is the Queen (female) bee 🐝 without it we wouldn’t be able to taste good quality of 🍯. I walked in the store with pride ha ha representing #girlpower. 🫶🏽

The staff at the front end was polite, helpful and educated us about honey. We couldn’t believe that it takes millions of bees to get us a teaspoon full of honey. 😮

We got to thank the existence of 🐝 for without them we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the sweet taste of honey, beekeepers, sales person, marketers, organisations, staffs and every other person involved in the making of 🍯

I also tried on every skincare sample and loved their consistency. They were pricey 💰 no doubt but I’m definitely keen to get myself a few products to experience in time.

Bring your kids, try some honey, bring your own jar to save yourself some 💰 and you’ll have a pleasant weekend for the drive and honey is worth it.

We enjoy travelling up from Auckland every couple of months. Great range of honey and other items (bee wax food covers, candle sheets, lozenges, skin care). Coffee at the cafe is constantly good but food and service in the cafe can be a hit or miss.
