Sorry to say but it was unhygienic and smelly and people driving ships were also unhygienic

Polluted, dirty, and foul-smelling acidic waters are hazardous for ships marine life and people living around

Good place, live music food street, but dont take the boat ride ( a wise advise).

Best Architecture and Structure depicting British style construction.
The best time to visit is on holiday when you could see clearly without any pollution and traffic. View point is either over the bridge of landing side of bridge.
This is a must go place in Karachi.

Beautiful place, never seen any seaport as pleasant. Total designed and built according international standards. Neat and clean environment. Very friendly staff and officials. Cafeteria is also very well equipped with all your needs. Parking is very easy and accessible. Wonderfully secured by armed guards.

Visit Karachi port to do a project. As soon as we enter a guy came for help he parked our car then took us to the area where everyone hires boat to go to Manora. He then tried to scam us by asking unfair rent for the boat . Fortunately we met an officer over there who helped us in hiring a boat in a reasonable price. So be aware of those people over there. Try to ask from 3 or 4 people atleast over there for boat and price.

The KPT administrative offices were built in 1916 and serve until today as the headquarters of all the work related to activities at the Karachi Port. The colonial era building was made back then to show the glory of Karachi to all the visitors who arrived through the port and took the Native Jetty Road into the city. Interestingly during the first World War, despite being constructed for Karachi port’s administration, the building was turned into a 500-bed Indian General Hospital and served as a military hospital until May 1919.

A fabulous architecture of old times, KPT building and it's surrounding gives a beautiful view. After evenings and on sundays, the place goes peaceful. Children often bring their bicycles and enjoy their rides. Families are also there enjoying their quality time.
The best part is played by KPT management, they keep this place maintained.

As a visitor and temporary worker in the Mechanical Engineering department at the Port of Karachi, I had a firsthand experience of this bustling maritime hub. The port's efficiency and scale left me in awe. The state-of-the-art facilities and well-organized operations were impressive, ensuring smooth cargo handling and swift turnaround times. The dedicated staff and their professionalism were commendable, as they worked tirelessly to maintain the port's impeccable standards. From a visitor's perspective, the port's infrastructure and security measures were top-notch, providing a safe and welcoming environment. My time at the Port of Karachi was both educational and enlightening, offering valuable insights into the world of maritime logistics.

Beautiful structure of British, Hindu and Gothic style building designed by George Wittet a consultant architect of govt. Of Bombay. Excellent location to view this historical building from Native Jetty bridge and fly over. It was built in 1916 during British rule in sub-continent. Access to this building is from Nawab Muhabbat Khan road that's also an estate of the art road. Imperial custom house adject to KPT head office is also a historical landmark of beautiful structure.

Its nice to visit this area. The very sight of ships allure the visitors. New visitors must go there. But there is no arrangements for cleaning.

The Karachi Port Trust Building ( کراچی پورٹ ٹرسٹ بلڈنگ), also referred to as the KPT Building, is a large colonial-era building in Karachi, Pakistan that serves as headquarters for the Karachi Port Trust, which administers the Port of Karachi. The building dates from the height of the British Raj, and was inaugurated on 5 January 1916.
This building is located in central Karachi's Kharadar neighbourhood, near the Native Jetty Bridge and Merewether Clock Tower. It lies opposite the Qamar House on Eduljee Dinshaw Road.
Karachi Port Trust Building was designed by George Wittet, who was also the architect of Prince of Wales Museum. The building's construction commenced in 1912.The Napier Mole Road was extended to the site by 1914, and terminated at a spot known as Willingdon Place. The building was planned to be a showpiece for Karachi that would impress visitors arriving at the Port of Karachi.
It was completed in 1916 under the supervision of the Engineering Department - at a cost of 974,990 rupees. Marquess of Willingdon, the Governor of Bombay, inaugurated KPT Head Office Building on 5 January 1916, and the first meeting was held in the building on 12 January 1916, while it was formally handed over to the Karachi Port Trust on 7 February 1916. Despite its use for the port's administration, the building was immediately converted into the 500 bed "Indian General Hospital" for use during the First World War, and continued to function as a military hospital until May 1919.
The building occupies a large area about 1400 sq. metres, and is adjacent to the Imperial Customs House.
The buildings architectural style is an amalgamation of British, Hindu and Gothic styles. It was designed by George Wittet, who was a consultant architect of the Government of Bombay. Wittet was also the Architect of the Gateway of India in Bombay.
The building's façade was made of a yellow-toned stone from the Indian city of Jaipur. The building's exterior is notable for its curved façade. In the centre of the building’s curvature is a large dome designed in a Roman style, rather than an Islamic style.
The exterior and interior of the building is decorated simply. Rooms are specious, and feature high ceilings. Costly teak wood was extensively used throughout the building. The wood on the windows are decorated in a dark green colour. KPT Head office building had only one entrance with a huge door and 2 large anchors are kept on both sides. Striking arches of the corridors crafted in both exterior and interior, which is symbolic Roman Styled Architecture.
The floors are tiled with black & white colour and easily washable. These tiles are called cemented tiles, purposely made of by adding different colours in the cement. The usage of teak wood is found everywhere in the building, even the elevator is also wooden. While using the elevator, one can see each floor as the elevator features an open-cage design. There is only one railing back of the elevator, which is uncovered and mechanism of the elevator is visible.
On the buildings 2nd floor is located the Board Room, which is located under the dome. There are two huge arch shaped windows which have been painted. Old clocks there bear the name of Elliot Brother Company, London. There is another big Conference Room adjacent to the Board Room. Now, all the meetings are held in conference room. On 2nd floor, the third most important room is Record Room, which is used for keeping the records of the original proceeding and secret files. All the proceedings from 1893 till to date are kept here.

One of the modernized port of Pakistan. Its also capable of holding the biggest vessels.Use of latest technology can be seen at this port.

Such beautiful architecture it is. It looks more beautiful at night, when you drive from KPT flyover. KPT's head office was built in 1915 and it still looks like a new one. The whole curved building is colored in sepia and its windows, arches and doors are green in color to give it a mesmerizing contrast.
