State-of-the-art architecture with a wide collection of books. Admission is free (for non-residents and residents alike). Great for passing time, the cafe is a bit pricey but good if you’re hungry.

My favorite part is the labyrinth-looking heritage site downstairs… I enjoyed learning about history through the artifacts and books from centuries ago.
More than 1 million books
Very quiet and clean place.

One of my favorite places in Qatar.

They opened it in 2012. They have almost half a million an E book.
The building is a masterpiece of design and a fantastic space for studying, this was opened on 2018 by the sheikh.
To get here you will need to take a taxi as there is no train station near here.

The coffee area is also beautifully designed with a range of seating options including some very comfortable couches. But not order anything is my advice the croissant and apple tart we had were not tasty and the coffees also below a standard acceptable. Also very expensive. Also the internet is very slow and keeps cutting in and out, and when we were there it was not a very busy day.
Just sit and relax and forget the food and drink offerings.
In my opinion this is one of the gems of Qatar. This library is one of the most beautiful in the world and its worth visiting for taking a look and absorb the architecture, take a walk through the halls full of books, wonder around the temporary exhibitions. Also theres a delicious and cute coffee inside, “Safahat”.

Books hold the wisdom of decades. By reading, you can learn life's lessons without going through the struggles yourself. Studies show that people who read more often are happier and more successful.
If you want to spend your time as good environment, just visit this place you will definitely not disappoint. This is largest and free library, I don’t know why this called library because this is not looking like a normal library more than that.
You can also join the library membership and open world of reading and learning.
Timing: 8 am - 8 pm for Saturday to Thursday
For Friday, 4 pm - 8 pm
Amazing architecture. I wished i could stay here longer. They have some quiet sitting pods for reading/studying, also some hanging seats. Very comfortable for working/studying. Walking distance from metro station.

It is totally free for all the residents and we are blessed to experience this free of cost. Books borrowing and returning is fully automated and easy. Their website is also very helpful.
If you have time in Doha, add this to your list of 'must see'. If you have lots of time, that's even better.
An amazing building, booklovers dream, and exhibitions too. No entry charge.
Easy to get to on the Doha Metro (green line).
The Qatar National Library is an impressive institution with a stunning architectural design. It offers a vast collection of books, digital resources, and exceptional facilities for reading and research. The library's staff is knowledgeable and helpful. This is my favorite place in Doha. It’s a well-designed library with spacious study areas and a ton of free resources for residents. Situated in the heart of Education City, it is surrounded by university campuses and can be easily accessed via metro.
One of the best library I've seen, halls are very spacious, they have a lot of areas where you can read peacufully. Getting a library card is easy as well, just register online and present your Qatar ID at the help desk and they will.give you your Library card in less than 1 minute. They will let you borrow a book for 21 days. They have a vast collection of books for children, young adults. They even have several comic books and mangas available.
The QNL building is impressive. The structure is a state-of-the-art facility that offers a wide range of books, including many rare publications. They also provide lectures on research methodologies, research proposals, literature reviews, and statistics. Additionally, there is a good restaurant and coffee shop on-site. Finally they have a nice innovation center.
The best library in the Middle East. Amazing building with beautiful interiors and equipped with the latest technology.
This library is open to everyone even without a membership . Anyone can use the facility and gain knowledge at free of cost in the calm and peaceful environment with ample seats and even lazy bags to feel comfortable.
