Thanks to our volunteer docent Ian for making the experience through the National Museum of Singapore interesting and rich. I love when history is told more like a story than fact after fact and he did just that for an hour. I learned a lot and spent some extra time revisiting some of the exhibits we had to speed over. All in all, beautiful gallery and a great way to get out of the heat or rain for an hour or two. I only did the main gallery and it was worth the SGD 10 cost.
a cool place with well curated national treasure that celebrates our past design journey but it’s a little too “propaganda-y”

also, really they have some really unprofessional staffs. was minding my own business while waiting for my tickets at the counter. out of the blue, the ticketmaster approached me and demanded that i put back the brochures. she apologized after i said that i was given the copies. made
no sense.
Visited this museum as it is located within a short walking distance from my hotel at Bencoolen Street. Needless to say, I was very impressed upon my visit! The museum offers a journey of Singapore's history from prehistoric to modern times that is presented in a detailed but concise journey. I would recommend allotting at least two hours here to enjoy what the museum has to offer.
Thousands of exhibits and well organised rooms that will take you from early history of Singapore to current days, about day to day life, how Singapore was founded and struggled during the war until it became the strong and independent country of today. It was a pleasant and instructive visit.
Very nice local treasure with a lot of history to see. Beautiful building and well kept museum. Has a great cafe inside too. Takes about 3 hours to cover completely. In heart of town and well connected by public transportation
Immerse yourself into Singapore's history and be totally blown away by the rate at which it progressed to the nation it is today. The story is told in a creative and interactive way. Definitely worth spending a few hours here to absorb everything and enjoy being taken back in time.
A fabulous experience getting to know Singapore's historical journey! Beautifully maintained museum. The staff was courteous and helpful. We had a wonderful time exploring the various rooms. A must see here is the glass rotunda featuring story of the forest and it's magnificent. The cafes were great too!
Visited in May 2023 on a weekday. There were a few school tours happening on that day but my girls were enjoying the museum so much that they were slowly reading everything and were in a would of their own. Spent 5 hours inside before heading to a little cafe at the side of the museum for tea. Learning when Malaysia and Singapore parted ways were great for my girls who are below 10 years old.
We visited the Glass Rotunda as well and they enjoyed that most. So beautiful!
