Excellent Facility to help men get back on their feet and bring them closer to God!!!

If you're in the area you must see this historic mission. You can feel the history as you walk through. What struck me was there was no hallway you had to enter each room to get to another room.

Great food and a soft bed under a roof, plus a church service, how could you do better

A great place if you need to be "scared straight" by ex cons and dry drunks. Not so great if you're in need of real help. It's atrocious how the staff treats people. I don't know if the pastors are unaware of what goes on or if they just don't care. I have recordings of a supervisor, Don, and a cook, Mark, going on rants you wouldn't believe. They make up rules and yell at people daily. Everything is grounds for dismissal if they decide they don't like you. At the slightest provocation, real or imagined, they will yell at you, call you names, and threaten to put you out on the street. And yes, they will throw you out rain or cold. There are bed bugs. I'm talking about nests full of them, and they'll blame you if you complain about it. There's supposed to be counseling and help with getting your own place as well as other services, but there is none of that, and again, you'll be ridiculed for even asking. The best part is that you pay rent! If you are a donor, I would highly recommend taking a closer look at what actually goes on here before giving up more of your hard-earned money. Instead of building a new building, maybe they should consider hiring qualified staff who could actually help people or maybe getting rid of the bed bugs. I don't like leaving bad reviews for a place that puts roofs over the heads of the homeless, but what goes on at this "mission" is ungodly and needs to be exposed. There is a better solution to homelessness, and the people of Memphis deserve better.

Anyone visiting Santa Barbara should make the time to visit this historic and well-preserved Mission and museum. It is the last California mission that still provides church services to the community.

Nice architecture and a cool adjacent park with some good views of the mountains and the ocean. Didn’t go for the tour so really only spent about 20 minutes walking around but worth a quick stop for sure!

My younger daughter is presently staying at the Moriah House, for about seven months now. They treat her like it's a prison. I've gotten some strange calls from her. Like she wants to tell me something but won't due to her calls being monitored. Only being allowed 10 minutes to talk even from her own cell phone. They put her on some medicine that seems to have changed her mind set completely. She has gained a lot of weight. Body swollen having a lot of fluid. This situation gives me the feel like this case going on right now at "Youth Villages " Alegend John's family fighting for Justice after this seventeen year old was killed by staff. I have a real bad feeling about this organization my daughter is staying at. This place is the place of the Devil. A place to abuse their authority! Making Christianity into SLAVERY!!! A REAL Christian accepts all and love all!! Treating the homeless as peasants.

Mission Santa Barbara is called the Queen of the Missions, and it's easy to see why. The Mission is beautiful. The location is spectacular and Santa Barbara is probably the most beautiful town in the world.

Great service! I was impressed with how quickly they answered the phone. Haifa Al Sheikh was incredibly kind and helpful. She patiently answered all of my questions and provided excellent assistance. I am extremely satisfied with the level of service I received. Thank you❤️

According to the building security- the ambassador is never on site. This office needs to be closed, there is no way to schedule an appointment online nor in person.

This is a beautiful spot to take in some reflection. I didn't go on the tour, I attended mass. We were dismissed through the courtyard, which gave me a peak. Nice lawn for a picnic, free parking in the lot.

They help the homeless but their are things they could improve. Like you have to be in Atlanta 2:30 what if you go to a day Labor and work you have no bed.

Beautiful architecture, priceless antiques and fascinating history in this still functioning mission founded and run by the Franciscan priests. Remnants of native American structures and even an ancient section of an aqueduct show how this was once a fully self-supporting establishment. A must see in SB.

I was very impressed with the Memphis Union Mission. Very clean in the lobby and cafeteria. I was with a church group when I visited this nice establishment August 5, 2023. The men at this homeless shelter looked very well taken cared of. I hope to be invited back. I lead the opening prayer and a friend of mine song.

This place got me off the streets and helped me get back on my feet. I walked through their doors five months ago and they gave me the structure and stability I needed to get a job, start saving money, and in three and a half months I was able to move on into a sober living house. Two months later I moved into a brand new sober house as it’s house manager and I remain bewildered and so grateful for the way God has been blessing me—starting with leading me to the front gate of the Orlando Union Rescue Mission. I am thankful for all of the men at the Mission; if you are homeless and struggling and in need of a place to rest your head, I recommend this place over any other Orlando shelter establishment. They can change your life!

A beautiful place to visit with lots of history. The tour is self-guided with lots of information and artifacts. The "Lone Woman" was very interesting and they have put together a room on her. Lots of art from the 1700s and 1800s. The friars, from the story of the place were gardeners, but I found it ironic that the square and the rose gardens were all being cared for by contracted workers. This is still an operating mission.

They helped me with shelter and meals when I needed them the most. Fantastic people who sincerely care.

It's a nice, peaceful little historic compound. Very pretty and well-tended, with a large courtyard, an old church, and burial ground shaded by a majestic fig tree. There's also a small history museum you can look at at the end.

I spent about 45 minutes here. The admission was $25. While the place is pleasant, I feel that the value is not very good.

The Memphis Union Mission is actively doing Gods work through blessed saints, spirit filled pastors, and compassionate Christian soldiers on the front lines for spiritual wareware in downtown Memphis, taking in broken, homeless, drug and alcohol addicted men who are lost in a broken world in desperate need of a loving God. Thats exactly what they find when they come in and seek refuge, food, and clothing. I had been on the streets addicted to drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes for most my life. The Holy Spirit led me to the mission where I found Christ and the salvation of my soul through the Gospel that is preached there each and every night. The pastors of the mission and the program and the staff members genuinely care for the welfare of all Gods children without descrimination of your situation, stature, color, or creed. The mens "iron on iron" program helps men to grow spiritually, relationally, and in sobriety, as they learn from spirit filled teachers what the word of God teaches about every question you can think of in lifes journey. I am in turn compelled to do the same for men in light of this wonderful mercy that has been shown to me. Jesus said it best in Luke 10:37 "Go and do likewise", that says it all. These men are pouring thier lives into the men who come there seeking something better, and find something priceless, the salvation of thier souls through the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

Place where you will experience order and discipline; don't whine, they take care of you real good, feed you good, sleep you good, take your phone at 6pm eryday too.
- Check in at 2pm, check out after breakfast
- Showers between 3-4.45pm
- Washing machines and dryers available for use
- Air-conditioning in dorm 🤯

The staff at this location are really good, God-fearing men who reach out to men at their lowest and strive to share Jesus' love. For the work that is needed, no one could do it better than the staff on hand. Volunteer, donate, reach out and get involved. The help is appreciated!

Jesus told his people love thy enemy & help those in need!

Arrogant and unsympathetic service. Not listening and contradicting own website’s directions - stating that printed flight itinerary is not enough for a visa application. Certainly not going back to this mission. Way to manage expectations of interactions with public officials in Tanzania for future visitors.

Super quick passport drop off for visa and friendly staff. Clean premise, and organized from what I experienced/could see. In and out of the office in 5 mins!

Kind, clear and helpful service. Website is a little out of date, they seem to now open at 9:30 (and are located on the 5th floor); and they don't accept personal checks anymore, but they do accept credit cards, and no special credit card form is needed.

I had a wonderful experience. I walked in a hot mess and a little unprepared😭. And feel like getting to Africa has been such a production! However, Bahia and Diana were so professional, patient and helpful! If the people of Tanzania are anything like them then I am in for a fantastic trip!

if you follow all the instructions on the web site, the visa process is relatively easy.

1. have 2- 2"x2" photo with white background
2. have copy of where you are staying, hotels, bookings and copy of airplane ticket
3. proof of funds
4.money order/ or credit card +copy of driver license - no CASH
5. the visa application form downloaded and filled out from their web site
6. valid passport > 6 months left before expiration
7. self addressed and stamped envelope for your passport

I arrived there between 10a, there is no line and took me about 10 minutes for the handoff... I got my passport back in the mail about one week.

Building that they are located in is not safe or up to code. People get stuck in elevators for over an hour in this building several times over past 12 months and the phones and emergency buttons inside the elevators do not work!! You need to have a cellphone and call fire department to get out.

Visa pickup hours on their website are not correct - hours are actually 11-1 Monday thru Thurs
They don't even let you in the building during the website listed times of 3-5

Went there to drop off paperwork for a tourist visa. Horrible customer service. The receptionist was on her phone talking the ENTIRE time. Barely said hello. Then told me to sign in the log book, but failed to explain what to fill in the book. For the amount they charge in visa fees, one would think the front desk would be more attentive.
