Great selection of stuff and it used to be reasonably priced. Now a single red cherry shrimp usually $4-7 at other stores is $11.99 and a singular floating plant is $6 each. All decor is overpriced as well Pretty ridiculous given that shrimp breed every month and floating plants multiply quickly. I understand you need to keep the business going but you’re going to lose many customers charging double what other local fish stores charge and triple online prices.
A bit pricey when fish are not on sale. Also they should quarantine fish before they sell them. I bought 5 platties and only 3 of them lived till the end of the week. I think their dead fish return policy only goes till 48 hours.
The Blondie lady new manager she took Jasmine position. She just have very bad attitude. I spend 1000s on this store when I try to buy a fish she told me we cannot promise to give you this fish because it’s hard to catch it … (what can executors is that? )… You cannot even catch the fish while you’re working on this store but I ask her I need pacifically this fish and cheeky answers the same way same attitude. This is just bad for this store. They need to look into it for the new teenagers workers. I hope they will find better workers and better idea to treat the customer by the way, I’m very old customer for the store but I guess they don’t care 😡😡😡👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Great selection of fish, prices are extremely excessive, and service is terrible due to lack of staff. Almost 20 minutes spent just trying to get someone to assist in purchasing fish. Should reconsider their business plan because this was just awful experience

Super pricey with very average saltwater selection. I would definitely quarantine any fish from here! Going to pay above market price for almost anything here that can be found at other stores for much cheaper and of the same if not better quality elsewhere.
I am getting back into Tropical fish. I worked at Congressional Aquarium back in 70's when in HS. Back then Congressional Aquarium was on the other side of the steps. Earl Reed was the owner. no internet. he use to tell me about where different tropical fish came country wise. I learned a lot about how the precure , transport and catch the fish
I believe you truly come to this store not only for a selection of items petsmart and chain stores cannot provide, but for the wonderful knowledgable staff. Their advice has saved my beloved betta fish after I came in distraught about his swim bladder. They had the products I needed, which chain stores did not, but also took the time to walk me through products and formulate a plan for his recovery. Their expertise shows and they are all so kind. My only point for improvement is the amount of sick bettas I have seen at this store. I wish they would move away from the cup system and implement micro tanks or similar, and do better in that way than petsmart does. I know the staff cares for each fish and tries to help them, but there is only so much you can do from a cup with no heat/filter/etc. I would like to see the store owner implement a better betta housing system but otherwise this store is perfect. By far the best place to go in the area if you own a fish!

This was a hidden gem here in town! I have been to a handful of other aquarium stores in Vegas and while this one was out of the way (based on where in town I reside) it is by FAR the best fish store around.
The customer service was unmatched. Every employee who was working when I came in were incredibly knowledgeable and on top of that you can tell they are passionate about the hobby and that really showed. No one was pushy to purchase things but weres very helpful in leading me to products that I could find beneficial.
The store is huge! When you first come in you'll see all the set up products (tanks, substrates, decor, chemicals, etc.) But when you go to the other side you will see their impressive selection of fish both salt and fresh! They quarantine and treat all of their fish before housing them together.
I absolutely will be returning and if you are new to the hobby or a veteran I would recommend checking this store out!!

Amazing place! Love the workers. They were all super helpful and friendly. Katie helped me out and was delightful to have a chat with. I heard and seen them from YouTube and decided to go. While the prices aren't cheap, they are definitely worth it as the fish are as healthy as can be. Definitely going to come back even though I live on the opposite side of the city.
Disappointed. Went to look at saltwater selection while I was in town. Freshwater side looks nice and have a lot of fish to choose from. They do have a large variety of saltwater fish too but prices were way to high and the tanks were not well maintained (poor fish). They have almost no coral selection.
No bathroom but it was a nice little aquarium. Good place to step in out of the rain.

Holy cow is this store well operated, and the selection is by far and away the best in the DMV. Father and son (I'm guessing) are hard at work keeping their hundreds (thousands?) of fish in pristine water. Once you are ready to make your purchase though they drop what they're doing and are super friendly. The owner caught a hill stream loach for me like it's easy - it's not! Will 100% be returning to this establishment.

They have a pretty good selection of fish. Most of the fish look healthy, but some look a little stressed today. They have a large selection of aquarium plants! The last few times I've been in there, everybody was very helpful and helped me get in and out quickly. They also have a pretty big variety of Goldfish, and they're pretty healthy.
I am happy with this store. The sale man is very nice. I will go there again.

Awesome store I was here a few weeks ago and bought some plants. They had a couple pest snails on them but I removed them and it was no problem. They have a great selection of fish and sell a specific type of substrate for plants in small quantities which is perfect. I’ll probably come here again it was great
I am so so happy that my friend referred me here for help with my fish tank. I went on vacation and returned to an extremely green and foggy tank. My fish are like my babies lol So I was so sad and concerned..when I got to the store the associate knew exactly what I needed for my tank. It was an over growth of algae for leaving my light on! He was able to explain how I use the product and the warning of "overuse" that could kill my fish. So I took it very seriously. Here is before and after pictures. We are a week from when I started the algae killer, and my fish are safe and my tank is almost back to full health.

Knowledgeable staff. However, we were told we could return our mount and light if it didn’t work. Bought it on a Saturday, called and asked if we could return on Monday (2 days later) to avoid another hour of driving. We were told we’d have to pay a 7% “restocking fee” if we waited. The equivalent of $35-40 if we waited two days. This was never mentioned when we asked about returns. We were going to buy their hydra instead, but opted for online after that exchange. I’d recommend Sea King, which is nearby. Staff are just as knowledgeable and haven’t had any issues with their customer service.
If you want healthy bettas come here because the bettas here are better than the ones at petsmart, petco and the other chain stores since the bettas here are vibrant , colorful and stunning the selection is amazing! If you're looking for healthy bettas come here

This place is massive!!!. I did not expect it for aquarium accessories in the middle of Vegas to be this big. Customer service is top notch. Very informative. A wide variety of accessories/freshwater and saltwater fish/ feed you name it. Please support your local fish store like this. One stop shop for everything

The advice I've learned for reef systems from this place stays with me! The corals we've brought home have been healthy and doing great! I wish we didn't have an ***hole wrasse or we could have more splendid fishes
I would never ever purchase anything from this location. To start the filters inside the tanks are way to strong for all of the fish. The fish are blowing and moving all over the tanks. There is not a single spot inside of any of the tanks where the fish can have a calm spot. All of the tanks are dirty, dead plants in most all of them and things are not attached properly. To add in several tanks including the salt water have dead fish just floating all over. On my way out of the store I noticed a bearded dragon inside of a tank on the floor surrounded by junk the store has to offer. No light setup and no water. This place is very neglectful and I’d never recommend it to anyone. You are better off getting the same fish but cheaper at your local Petco or Petsmart. This place really needs to be closed down.
Cozy place with a knowledgeable, friendly staff. I only went for a few hermit crab supplies but you could tell they take great care of their fish! Will go back.
Nice small location, you can get food for $2 to feed the seals, coloring station, petting station. For a family of 6 you can get in for $34. Plus an hour parking, you can enjoy for an hour or 2 if you have children.

The most knowledgeable aquarium store in the DC area....hands-down. While there is a great selection of fish, and the products needed to give them a healthy and long life, it is the friendly staff that makes a visit to the store special.
Incompetent, rude staff that are not trained on neither fish or equipment. I was flying out of town and needed an automatic fish feeder. I could have easily orders from Amazon but wanted to give the business to a local company. I drove 45 min to them to buy the feeder since I needed to make sure our fish were fed for the 5 days while I was gone. I asked the gentleman who helped me (long dark hair maybe mid 20s Ethan was his name I believe) and I said to him I want the unit that is the easiest to set up. He sells me a feeder and says it’s super easy and connects to your phone. I paid $70 for the device (normally these sell for $30 on Amazon). I drove home and began the unpacking to set it up. After spending 30 min confused at the instructions regarding this device and calling the manufacturer, I realized that the unit is not built to work as a standalone device. This unit needs another $200 module in order for it to work. Basically I was baited into buying something from a careless sales associate who clearly was incompetent and didn’t care to understand what he was selling to me. When I called back to express my frustration I relished Ethan was the one who answered. I asked to speak to the manager and his response was everyone here is a Manager (interesting management structure). After I explained to him that he sold me a unit that is effectively useless, he became defensive and very dismissive and said “just bring it back” as if driving 40 min there and back 2 times in a day due to a clear mistake by the associate made me even more upset. No Apology, no empathy, no care. Ina world where retailers are getting smashed by Amazon and e-commerce there’s no room for totally unacceptable service. After asked to speak to another manager, I was handled and refunded but no fish feeder and was told the fish can live with no food for up to 10 days. Somehow I feel like that’s not at all the truth, but judging by how they handled my concern it’s quite obvious they just want to sell you stuff without knowing a damn thing about their merchandise. After spending $700+ on a tank and accessories just last week, I’ll never do business with this establishment again.

Barrier Reef Aquariums is the best place to buy livestock for your reef aquariums. They are by far the cleanest and most knowledgeable place I’ve been to. I drive over 2 hours away just to buy from them.

my family and I drove from Wenatchee a few weeks ago to visit the shop for the first time and we had a great customer service experience! The two ladies working there were welcoming and knowledgeable. Young lady with the blue hair was extremely friendly and very patient and kind with my (loud and hyper) kids. she even invited us to stay past 7 PM closing, which was highly appreciated. she explained the entire process of setting up a freshwater tank with CO2 and answered every question thoroughly despite being closed. Both employees went above and beyond to pack our purchases appropriately for the drive back. The shop itself is clean with a very big selection. Prices are super expensive, but all fish stores are these days. This will be our go to shop from now on!
Great spot, they really know their stuff. Super helpful. If you have any questions, you'll find an answer! All their fish, fresh and salt, look healthy and happy. Definitely recommend this place for any aquarium enthusiast amateur or seasoned or in-between
It's incredibly cramped, muggy and dark throughout the small store. The selection is decent but definitely not worth the risk considering I saw ich and fungal infections on several of the freshwater fish. Overall, not worth the drive in my opinion.

Super patient and VERY knowledgeable in what I was looking for. I thought they built customs, but the points of knowledge were fabulous. Great staff, pointed me in the right direction for 3 aquatic turtles. When these turtles outlive me, I would want them looking after them! #hopes&dreams #turtle
They have an amazing selection of Coral. Several huge frag tanks. Prices clearly marked. Their dry goods are phenomenal. They carry what appears to be the entire Seachem and Red Sea product lines among others. They also have great deals on tank setups. I recently started a new tank again and the staff made sure I was completely setup. They routinely have deals and sales. Be sure to follow them on the socials. If you’re in the area this is definitely worth a stop!

I am astounded by this store. The owner is amazing, the staff very friendly. A huge variety of product, from the tiniest and simple setup for the kids to 3000 gallon salt water setups. Best advice to customize to your specifications. No kind of upsell pressure, it's all about fish love and having the best aquarium setup for you.
Very friendly and accomadating staff. We were looking for bettas. They had a larger and healthier selection than all the other places we looked. The store is small, but it looks like the staff really take care of the fish. I would highly recommend Las Vegas Aquarium to anyone.
The best saltwater shop in WA. You can find anything that you need here from fish to coral setting up a tank they have everything. The shop has a really beautiful display tank full of exotic fishes! Must visit!
I was looking for another feeding goldfish so they can be playmate to the one I have almost a month now. I had bad experience with both Petco and Pet Smart so I went to Congressional Aquarium. I was impressed with varieties of fishes and accessories etc. I can easily spend hours looking at the fishes, shrimps, snails in this place. No one bothered you and when I knew what I wanted, I just went to an employee at the desk. Ethan was friendly, kind and very helpful. He picked 2 beautiful feeding fishes for me. They cost only a dollar but the customer service he has giving me, it goes a long way. What's a great place to visit. Thanks for a great service from Ethan, I will be back for more fishes, shrimps etc. in the near future.

Tons of livebearers there so ya. If that's your gig then this would be your best choice for fish in Vegas IMHO.

I highly recommend both salt and fresh water aquarium owners to come here. Not only do they have more options of fishes to choose from but they care about the customer and their aquariums. They have a variety of nutritional food depending on the fishes diet, many aquarium decorations, healthy solutions for tanks, options of vibrant live corals, different selection of plants and beautiful Salt and Fresh water fishes for beginning owners to experts.

Aquatic World very generously accommodated my 4:58pm request for a 4-into-1 air hose reducer, which I’m using to help synchronize carburetors on an old Honda motorcycle. Replaced my old broken plastic one with a stainless steel item that should be good forever! I’m sure they are just as helpful for actual aquatic needs.
NO STARS! This places is ABSOLUTELY HORRID. I can’t believe a place like this even is open for business. Why are people in 2022 still supporting and paying to support animals living an abusive non fulfilling life??? This should be shut down by the local government in Oregon. This makes my heart and soul hurt that humans can be okay seeing animals like this.
I've been coming to Las Vegas Aquariums for about 2 years now and have not had a bad experience. Staff is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and patient with answering your questions. I would say if you are a beginner or experienced keeper of both fresh/salt water fish, they have stuff for everyone. You might have to wait a bit for help, but they make sure to let you know they haven't forgotten about you. Give them a visit, and I know you won't regret it.
Pricy but this is where it's at, if you're a beginner or expert at maintaining aquariums. They've been able to answer every question we've thrown their way.

The trikes were super squeaky, my friend (a large adult man) and I weren't moving very fast but pedaling a lot. And yet, were having children and adults lazily pedaling passing us by on the swans. We barely made it past the second bridge and decided to turn back. When we got back the person said "oh this one is so squeaky. Oh looks like the wheels weren't drained either" they were nice enough to offer us a new one but by that point we had exerted so much energy trying to get the first ride to move that we just declined. There isn't a good place to store valuables either. The kid running the kiosk told us to throw things in a mesh bag attached to the trikes. That's all well and good for small objects but not for items such as a purses. I had actually done this two other times and it was pleasant enough those other times. Thus the three stars.

Also I was supposed to get 2 big Cory's and not what I got. The big one is beat up and hopefully he makes it. I'm not returning the dead cardinal tetra because of gas prices. By the time I drive all the way back it would cost me more. Also there was a sick or dead fish in almost every tank.

Another reviewer said they have an anchor worm problem. They do, and they also have a fish lice problem. I don’t know if they keep the tanks clean, or if they just don’t inspect fish that come in.

Treating animals in this way is cruel, they are kept in small room without enough of light and in a dirty water. Animals are jumping to get their food and really looks like the saddest seals I’ve seen. their condition of life there is so bad and the fact that the company didn’t change their policy about treating animals for about 70 years talks by itself.

This shop is just over any hour away from me, and I was reluctant initially to make the trip. But wow, was it ever worth it! Their tanks appear well kept and the fish look healthy. I picked up about 7 cichlids and they are all doing well! The staff was extremely nice and helped me identify some species I couldn’t make out. They had unique varieties that I hadn’t come across before, and that was a really nice surprise. I’m already looking forward to my next trip! (Bring change so you can feed the parking meter 🙃)
Not just a great variety of fresh and saltwater fish, also shrimp, crabs, frogs, coral. They seem to be in good health, fed premium food (I watched), and well-displayed. Tanks aren't over full, and tank sizes fit the fish, including several gorgeous giant tanks. Enjoyed an hour there despite only getting a few fancy shrimp and some endlers, which have been healthy and happy. Staff was helpful and super gentle with my fish. Definitely returning to set up my next community tank. Best fish store near DC.
We came home from a trip to find a situation. No idea how long the tank was in distress; instant panic mode! Heartfelt appreciation to the Aquascapes crew that mobilized to save my fish and coral, especially my 10 year old Queen Angel, and stabilize our tank. Lesson learned! Sign up for regular maintenance! I do not want to go through that again, and neither do you! Very relieved to have found a trusted aquarium service company in Austin. We should not have put it off. Thank you so, so much! :-)
We had a great experience with the team and Austin Aquascapes, they were on time, professional and helped get our on going pond issues handled with in the first 2 service visits.
Really nice reef store. They have fresh and saltwater with lots of equipment to choose from. All the staff is always friendly when I go in And always making sure I'm taken care of. I'd highly recommend checking them out if your in the hobby or getting started.
I won't speak on the freshwater side, but the saltwater section is a disaster. There is no excuse to not have a treated system or hospital tank for sick fish. I know fish shipments can come in with sick fish, but after many repeat trips to this store it looks like they just sit in the display without treatment.. the Petco across the street has healthier fish which says a lot. The coral section is pitiful, the small coral display tank has dying coral everywhere and the selection in the frag tank is horrible. There are plenty of stores within an hour drive that I would rather drive to. I'll continue to occasionally visit as its close, but until they seriously revamp the saltwater side I won't spend a penny there.
My wife and I visited to pick up a stand for our very first fish tank. Upon entering, we were in awe at the amazing seascapes and variety of healthy, gorgeous fish,plants, and inverts being cultivated here. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful; he also happened to have exactly what we needed in stock at a very fair price. We had a wonderful experience and will certainly be back!
Please get your fish some where else. Golden Aquarium is ran by the most dishonest owners and staff. They will try to sell you sick fish infected with anchor worm parasite by putting the fish on sale, with out telling you the fish are sick! I bought a goldfish home after the OWNER SPECIFICALLY RECOMMENDED me to get one because the fish is on sale ($150 now $100). Just in 2 days, the fish start to show sign of sickness, and it spreads my other fish in the tank. The fish are bloody, floating, lethargic, growing ulcers, fin rot. I did not know what is the cause so I came back to the store for solutions. The staff immediately knew the problem is parasite, because he knew he has been selling contagious sick fish to people for all this time!
Here is the funny part. The staff then sold me medicine for another $20. I went home and realize the medicine is passed EXPIRED date. I used it anyway. For the treatment I need to do 75% water change in a 40 gallon every week. And now it has been 5 weeks. Nothing has improved. All of my fancy goldfish are still suffering from anchor worm. Every F day I wish Golden Aquarium ran out of business and go bankrupt.

I am new to the hobby and went to Seattle corals last weeks to get some corals. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They took their time with me and answered my many questions. :) will definitely be back. (Also seems like they often have great sales)
hey just called this place to see if they sold fish and they are currently remolding there store but the guy who answered the phone was so nice and so helpful and answered a ton of questions for me. When this place is up and running I would 100% recommend it,

This is one of my favorite places on the coast. It always brings me so much joy to feed the seals. Each one has a unique way of asking for fish. The staff is friendly and the attached aquarium is great for checking out local fish species. I cant wait to go back!

Awesome place with great customer service and stock. I was able to visit Seattle Corals when I lived closer; the store is great andNima is very helpful and friendly. I now live in Tennessee and still order from them since they have great prices and healthy corals.

I have been to a lot of fish stores. This one is the best I've ever been to. There are so many fish here and so many display tanks. Plenty of options for hardscape. They also have so many plants. It is my favorite store in the Chicago area. I will definitely come back and buy more plants and check out their fish. If you can make it to the store I would check it out.
This place is so cool. It's like a small aquarium with all kinds of fish, small ones of course. My kids love to visit it. You can also get lizards, turtles, frogs, even snakes if you like. They also have large selections of tanks, other supplies and decorations. I would give it a five stars but their fish price is a little high. It's understandable because of the location and higher than normal maintenance cost. I think it's deserve a 4.5 stars overall. If you are a fish lover, you won't be disappointed.
Heather is amazing! She's down to earth and knows her stuff. She essentially saved my 8 year old brain coral from turning into a skeleton and streamlined my entire system in one visit! I plan to use them for regular maintenance to keep my fish happy and tank running smoothly!
