TLDR: Quaint little neighborhood sushi restaurant. Small place so make a reservation. Spicy Dumpling Soup, Toro/Ikura Roll, Grand Wazoo and JUNGLE LOVE.

I'm not sure how we ended up here but we came in for a Friday night. A few locals recommended it but I was pretty skeptical to be honest. The menu just read like something I don't care for but figured let's try it out.

It's small but dark and cool for a local date around town. We tried the cocktails, both had yuzu and they were pretty solid. The Spicy Dumpling Soup was very flavorful, kind of reminded me of instant noodle soup base with dumplings but not in a bad way - it was tasty.

Truffle fries and yogurt were solid. Spicy tuna crispy rice was standard.

Toro/ikura roll. The ingredients do the heavy lifting but this was great. Fatty, nice pops of salty brinyness from the roe, not too much rice.

Grand Wazoo. Spicy scallop, torched squid? Very interesting and very delicious.

Jungle Love. I don't know what this was supposed to be. An obscure list of ingredients but this thing was TASTY. Shrimp, avocado, goat cheese, brussel sprouts, imitation crab, tuna. As strange as this sounds - this baby slapped. Most memorable bites of the night.

I went in doubtful and left knowing I'll be back. Cheers.

Highly recommend. I love the ambiance inside, the space is a bit small which gives them the time & attention necessary for every order. Each dish is a symphony of flavors that leave your tastebuds satisfied. Grateful to have a spot like this so close-by. The best quality sushi on Long Island, and some of the best I’ve had overall.
Nice generous sized portions of food. Service was excellent. 40 minutes from closing and they still seemed pleased to help. Took 15 minutes for 3 meals.
The service and food is great here. They have a great happy hour menu and the sushi is fresh. The crab rangoons are one of the best I've had in a while. I really enjoy coming here for some sushi.

This food is amazing and blasting with delicious flavor. The atmosphere is amazing with soft jazz music, it’s calming and relaxing to with friends, family and business partners
I am an owner. of a food and bev business here in Charleston. I want to give the biggest shout out to the bartender who literally sprinted down king street to hand me my credit card that I had forgotten when I closed out my tab. Mind you it was freezing outside and I had already made it two blocks. This was such a kind gesture and saved me a trip back downtown to get my card. I wish I had gotten his name so shame on me for that. But this act of kindness on his behalf was going above and beyond what he had to do and I deeply appreciated it. Kudos to Fuji for staffing such a great person.

TLDR; Frozen Chirashi (with 10/18 pieces not fish)

Ordered a chirashi to go, but when I got home, of the 18 pieces of “sashimi” only 8 were actually fish (see photo attached) and the rest was egg/imitation crab/thin tofu. Not only that, but when I bit into the tuna, it was still frozen!

Pretty disappointed and wouldn’t recommend.

A wonderful neighborhood sushi spot. Delicious platters for 2 or 4 people, highly recommend the love boat. Maggie (the host and waitress) is so sweet and accommodating to every need. Reasonable prices and BYOB too!

The staff was very helpful and kind, they explained to me how it worked and once I decided the food got ready surprisingly fast. First time I went I chose raw tuna and salmon, I would order the raw salmon again but the tuna was delicious and fresh. The spicy aioli mixed with their bbq sauce, perfect combination. Second time I asked for the glass noodles, very good too but I still prefer the balance that the rice gives (and I made a mistake to choose the hot noodles).
I will definitely go back when I’m in nyc again and, if you are looking for a tasteful food with a lot of diferente flavors mixed turning it in a explosion of flavors I recommend this place 100%.

I would have given this place 5 stars however, the service was really bad. I'm not sure if they are understaffed or not but the white girl with blonde hair who checks people in at the front had a bad and smug attitude and didn't really care. Then the waitress was super busy and kept telling us to wait in the middle of us telling her our order, she would run off and not come back after a long time. She did apologize each time she came back though, maybe they are just understaffed and I felt like she was overwhelmed and busy.

The food was REALLY good!! Their General Tso's Cauliflower, Fluke Carppacio, Crispy Rice Tuna and the yellow tail was amazing! Their Sushi plate was amazing as well! With a little more improvement they can really become a NYC Michelin level sushi restaurant. The ambiance was nice but could use a little more work. All the guys working behind the sushi counter were very nice, friendly, quick, and did an amazing job!.

Every time I come here is a phenomenal experience. The food and atmosphere is amazing and the service is unmatched anywhere. The remodel is gorgeous and they keep adding new stuff and improving every week! I couldn’t recommend a better date night spot or place to go celebrate a special occasion. The staff really makes you feel like they’re celebrating with you and they really care. Great people, great food, great establishment and I couldn’t recommend it more highly to anyone.

Great place. Great date spot. Nicely updated and decorated.

Love the rotating cocktail menu and all the fun drinks and specials. I'm a fan of the ramen too. Flavorful.

The manager Misha was super attentive and really cares about every little detail.

I'm a regular now 😄

I’m eating here for the first time under new ownership and I’m super impressed! First of all, I have been looking for kosher ramen in this area for a long time, and their ramen is SOLID! The aesthetic is way different than what it used to be! Instead of running in to grab some awesome sushi, I sat down, had some good conversation, feel-good music and a delicious meal. The staff were well-mannered and efficient. Very impressed, I will definitely be back and I highly recommend!

Stopped in the area to charge an EV and grabbed poke while I waited. The food was amazing! I have a soy sensitivity, so I was glad to find an ahi option that wasn’t marinated in soy sauce. I would definitely go here again!
Very often go there for a quick sushi at a good price. Love the place

Very tasty yet very stingy on the fish. I got a tuna & salmon raw bowl and there is so much rice - just couple of fish pieces for 14$
This place is fairly new but I enjoy the dining and food. We ordered takeout one time and the way it packed is perfect, still warm when we brought it home. Definitely try their ramen and chef special when you get a chance. And highly recommend coming during lunch/early dinner for Happy Hour.
Decided to try them out. The food was very good and had plenty for lunch the next day. Good value for money and options for everyone on the menu! I hope to be back soon. I've recommended them to a foodie coworker to try out.
Love a lot of things from here. Very fair prices on the sushi when compared to other restaurants in the area.
Good food and portions for the price! Crispy crab is a must have!!

The best poke spot in NYC. everything is always fresh, good service and good price for the quality.
I've had the salmon burrito three different times. The first two times were SUPERB and perfect, but tonight, my salmon burrito had barely any sauce and wasabi, which left it pretty bland and tasteless. The tuna and crab burritos I got, however, had the opposite problem and were dripping sauce, which made it feel very heavy and soggy.

I've talked about this place to so many different people because it was quickly becoming my favorite, but now I'm afraid the quality and taste aren't consistent.

Edit: I ordered the salmon burrito again, and thankfully, it was of similar quality to my first orders, which I loved!

We have ordered from here many times and remains one of our favorite local places to get take out from. The maki sushi is fresh, fun and filling! They are so nice and will make any changes to your order you would like. The scallion pancake burritos and sushi burritos are so tasty as well.

The woman answering the phones and handling orders was super nice, and the place was fine inside, but I was pretty disappointed by the rolls (and I'm not a sushi snob!). I found the portions unusually small (especially of fish inside the rolls) and the salmon didn't seem very fresh. Also, even the soy sauce tasted watered down! I'm extra sensitive to salt and usually use just a drop or two, but this tasted like water. Oh well. I'll go somewhere else for my lower-priced sushi next time. I tried!
We had the best calamari of our life here. Highly recommend!

We also ordered the pork belly baos, a couple of rolls (Christmas roll was TASTY) and some take out food. Seriously, get the calamari age.

Will come back next time we’re in town. If you’re considering it- go!
Stopped in here for lunch and it was amazing! Food came fast, hot and plentiful! Pricing is fantastic. This will be in our rotation for when we eat out! Not much seating, 1 table.
Ordered twice and disregarded my allergy requests twice. The product descriptions also never mentioned certain ingredients (crunchy) or I never would have ordered them in the first place. Received credit for the delivery service but will not give them a third chance. They do not take allergies seriously.

My husband and I come to Tiga frequently and it is always A+++. Absolutely everything we’ve ever gotten there is amazing. From the specials, to the apps and the rolls it never disappoints. The Dynamo Hum roll has become my favorite sushi roll of all time, anywhere. The staff is always so nice and welcoming. Reservations are def needed as it is a cozy, small place with great ambiance. My husband and I always look forward to coming here :)

Don't let the small size and low prices fool you; this place is excellent. I have both dinned in and ordered out many times and have always been satisfied. The best deal is their three-roll special. You can not beat how cheap the sushi is and how good it is. If you want the new, most inventive rolls, there may be a better place than this, but if you wish your tried and true rolls, this is the place to go.
I came in tonight with a couple of friends, sat at the bar, which was full. I had never been to this place before I had a great experience with the bartender, Tayler And was able to talk with the people next to me about the menu. She made great recommendations for sushi and appetizers. My meal was great. The hibachi was out of this world and the sushi was amazing. I would definitely go back, especially if I got to sit at the bar and have the same experience again.

I don’t usually go out of my way to give a 1 star review, but there is nothing worse then terrible service. The place was half empty except the bar was almost fully seated. I grabbed a seat at the bar and the bartender did say she would get with me soon. I was there for 15 minutes without a menu. She did manage to get me the wifi password and a water.

At first I felt like it was slow, but at least she was checking up on me. Then two other guests showed up and another two and she continued to get drink orders from them and then continued to service them.

This left me wondering why I was the only Asian person at an Asian restaurant in the South not getting waited on when people that came in after me were getting drinks and their orders put in all after I arrived.

At this point I don’t know if it’s just “southern” hospitality, but it’s not a good look either way. Service was slow and terrible with a hint of potential racism.

I promptly got up and left after sitting at the bar for 15 minutes and only getting a glass of water and needing to ask to get a menu and watching people get served before me.
Pretty good rolls and very decent prices.
II had some pretty awful poke down the street, so I needed something to save the day and stumbled on this place. I did their three roll lunch special for 20 bucks, and it was worth the money.
The spicy tuna roll wasn't spicy, but it was good. The Hamachi roll was tasty. The salmon roll was also good.
No complaints, and the interior was cool. It was not the most spectacular service, but I didn't need anything fancy.

Loved my takeout - so incredibly flavorful and healthy. Appreciated the veg option. A sign of a balanced meal is the colors on the plate - this certainly checked all the boxes!
Had a great late lunch here. We shared the beef and broccoli, generals chicken and some sushi rolls. Service was quick and the food was very good. Great little place, will definitely be back

Super convenient and affordable. I order ahead and pickup. My go to is their lunch special, 3 rolls and soup or salad. The food is fresh and delicious. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Our family loves this restaurant and we tell everyone we know about it! Not only is the food fantastic, their team is so friendly, helpful, and provide excellent service. Atmosphere/ambiance are great & the restaurant it clean. My family can’t recommend this place enough. We are either here or order from here at least once per week! (Oh and the peach lemonade is made in-house & soooo good!!!)

Most of the reviews seem great, I got sushi and pan fried pork gyoza and nothing was that great. The gyoza were fine if rather bland. The sushi was very mushy, especially the spicy tuna roll. Once upon a time the spicy rolls were actual pieces of tuna with some spicy mayo on top and now it’s just mush inside some rice. The sushi was also very fishy tasting. The spicy shrimp tempura was ok but I got the one topped with spicy tuna. So again had to wipe it off. Altogether this was $40 with tax tip and “fee” for the takeout so absolutely not worth it.

I like the Red Poke and I think I tried all the menu since I order from here at least once or twice Every week. The staff are nice and kind and got me extra side when I revisited there since they forgot to add my added-on egg one day.

However, As a loyal customer who always adds tons of extra meat and sides, I found out that somehow their food quantity is getting smaller.

If you look at my photo uploaded that was a large-size poke(+2.75) of Gangnam (mixed with chicken and shrimp) with extra grilled spicy jeyuk meat (+4) and extra grilled bulgogi beef (+4). (The dark greenish On top of it is not meat it is avocado) The large poke doesn’t seem to be it’s a larger size. And there were literally like 2 pieces of jeyuk meat, and little bulgogi beef too. I thought that would be too little for the extra 8 dollars I added.

It wasn't like this when I ordered in previous months or so, I know it because I mentioned above, I’ve ordered here at least once or twice a week. I think there should be sort of a consistency in quantity as the quality of their ingredient has been good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Have to update my review.
Truly Impressed by the thoughtful response from the manager.

Sub-par sushi:
-very small rolls
-about half of rolls falling apart
-very little filling, especially for the fish

There are so many great sushi places in Philly, you're much better off going to another if you want sushi (I can't speak to any entrees here since I've never had any). Overall a sad sushi experience. Their miso soup is also kind of bland, which I don't think I ever experienced before. Their delivery driver was nice ,though!

I never write reviews but I felt this place deserved it. The Yellowtail Asian Pear was possibly the best thing I’ve ever tasted. I consider myself a foodie and would say that dish was absolutely incredible. I ordered 2 on Wednesday and went back on Friday and had 3 lol. It was an experience and the quality of the food was excellent.

Sophia was amazing as a server. Gave great suggestions and super polite and attentive. Sushi was tasty and fresh. Gyoza was yummy! Spicy Tuna Wontons were outstanding! We had the September Roll and the JoJo Roll. Couldn’t be happier with the choice. Distinctly different from each other but both were scrumptious. Highly recommend this place! Ask to be sat in Sophia’s section! Never heard any music from neighboring businesses and the service was extremely fast. We had two appetizers and two rolls and two glasses of wine each and were in and out the door in under an hour.

Reasonable pricing, and tasted fresh.

Great variety of choices.

Generous portions.

Friendly staff members.

Quick service — ideal for a quick fix when you’re around the area.

Easy ordering system on the paper form if you want to “build your own”.

Love how it opens till quite late — which’s not very typical for poke bowl places.

I had a great dinner at Sushi Tokyo! A lovely, creative, friendly, Kosher, Japanese restaurant in Brooklyn.

I loved the place, great vibe, great service. They serve a full gamut of Japanese cuisine, from sushi, to rolls, a great ramen, a whole grilled fish, steak, you name it.

I finished with cocktails and dessert. All 100% kosher, totally loved it. 👍
Our group went here on a spur of the moment Saturday night, and were able to get seated quickly. The food here is incredibly tasty and has a lot of variety and flavours. I was shocked at how affordable the food was, considering the very well prepared food. I would highly recommend this place for both sushi and ramen.

I order from here pretty often. For lunch or dinner while I’m at work and it does the job. The people who serve you are so decent and welcoming. I usually get shrimp tempura roll 🍱 and dumplings 🥟- or, either or. It’s also affordable and that’s my favorite part 😋. If you love sushi I would suggest this spot it’s fresh, clean and welcoming. Enjoy!
We gave this new place a try and we were not disappointed. It was on a Tuesday night so we pretty much had the place for ourselves, and the waiter was very attentive and really trying his best. Their menu is very extensive and affordable, we tried a couple of rolls and also Ramen, everything was delicious, will be definitely coming back.

It was a really lovely stop for lunch. The server was attentive and very friendly, and the portions were generous for a fair price. Between us we had several different rolls, takoyaki, miso soup (served piping hot, delicious!), and sushi pizzas. Everything was delicious and it was a great place to sit and chat over sushi after a busy Sunday morning.

My husband and I discovered this place because it is only a few blocks away from his work. We are absolutely, positively smitten with the sweet potato rolls!

We normally get takeout. But, we had a party in the area over the weekend and decided to eat in. I cannot say how nice and accommodating the server was. She went out of her way to make sure that our dining experience was pleasurable.

The service is very fast and the restaurant is super clean!

My favorite sushi restaurant in Philly!

I don't want to be too rough because I understand that they were probably short staffed, but I wasn't impressed.

The staff was really friendly, but it seemed like they were overwhelmed.

We didn't get much, but what we got was good.

The vibes were actually really nice.

Prices were decently high, but I do like that they don't automatically add on a tip like what has become the norm. Instead, it is strongly encouraged.
Great food, really good prices and great service. I got 2 of the five dollar sushi rolls and it was filling. my bf ordered a poke bowl and he liked it. we’ll be back! it’s a really great spot.
Visited this past weekend. Food was fresh and prepared to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only improvement they need to make is stop bothering people 6 times during the visit. I couldn't even have a private conversation with my wife due to being interrupted. There also wasn't many people so I doubt they trying to move us in and out. We had sushi treys and 2 noodle bowls. The broth was top quality(it really was). The beef and shrimp was cooked to perfection. The only complaint is the noodles. They were Maruchan Ramen Noodle quality from a .36 cent bag. Other then that, I will return next week for sushi as I live down the street from here.
I love that you can mark options on an erasable sheet to create your own food.
They offer great protein options both cold and hot to make the perfect poke bowl. Product quality and flavors were quite good. I would definitely like to go again and try a different combination.

Top notch place. Love their food and especially poke bowls. Posting this review because I am very impressed with their customer service. I placed an online order and must have accidentally clicked the wrong protein. I went in and they rectified it and gave me a whole new bowl even though I insisted I paid and it was my fault. Normally I would have eaten it but I really dislike salmon. Very impressed with the customer service as I was already a big fan of the food the couple times I had tried it.
The food was pretty good and inexpensive.

I bought the Alaska roll, Cali roll, and Samurai roll. My favorite was the samurai roll, it was so good. I also got some chicken and rice.

The only caveat is that there's not much in the place of seating so you should call your order ahead, for pickup.
We had a fantastic waiter but the food maybe been better. The best shrimp shumai I've ever had and the friends rice and sushi was amazing. Can't forget the nigori sake; we will be back!

Not worth the money.
I had to remind the cashier about the protein, that comes with the order, maybe after a long day she forgot how to prepare a bowl.

The salmon’s taste was off, like it wasn’t fresh at all.
The portions are pretty small for the price and even when they put 3 sauces on it, it still looks and taste like they put nothing in it.
When it was time to pay the lady even checked the screen as I was pressing the buttons to see how much I was going to tip.
Yikes!
Decided to check out a sushi spot while we were in town even though we’re from Florida and get fresh sushi all the time.

This place did not disappoint.

Super original menu with a lot of tempting options — huge portions and super fresh.

As for the location itself, I highly recommend reservations. We popped in late on a Sunday and they were slammed — take out was taking 2+ hours they said and the wait would be over an hour. We were encouraged to check upstairs and see if there was a spot available and we squeezed in at the bar. Ambiance probably would’ve been great normally but the bar/club next door was doing a happy hour party or something and it was super loud + the music at FUJI trying to compete was a train wreck. Wouldn’t recommend for a date spot necessarily but was worth it for the sushi!

Wish we were local so I could come back and try the ramen. Hard to find good ramen by us.
I'm kind of surprised this place has such high reviews. I'm assuming dine in is a lot better. I ordered sushi at the end of lunch time so I don't expect it to be fresh... but it was pretty bad. I still ate it, but it was the worst I've had in years. I would give them benefit of the doubt but their general tso's is not the same as other places. it wasn't great. Not sure who is eating here, but I've had actual Asian food from metro areas and California... this ain't it. I understand it's a Japanese place, but the sushi wasn't even good.

Got a large custom bowl and they let me have seaweed salad instead of rice because I'm diabetic. Super friendly. Fast and easy 5 star quality and quanity. I got 2 extras and my bowl was about 1.5 lbs and it was about $22 for a big man to get full on sushi which is dirt cheap! If I come back to Marina this will be my go to without question.
This is not a sit-down restaurant anymore. Food is still good. This table is for waiting, not table service. No restroom. I understand that things change. Just don’t plan to come from out of town to have a sit-down meal like you used to be able to. Looks like a lot of traffic from door dash and other delivery services. I’d order too if I were in the area.

We had not had sushi in Philly in awhile and we were not impressed, kinda average. The food was good, don't get me wrong. However the roll I had ordered used cucumber as the wrapping (nori). But it was good 👍I guess I missed that detail 😁

We were offered to sit anywhere and one of our guests picked by the door (which was open BTW). So many times vehicles and buses were nosey going by (along with the music inside was loud at times. I mean, next time I'll have to remind myself to sit further back. 😉

The only thing I might suggest might be bad was the service. It's not like it was bad bad, but it was maybe just too relaxed for us. We knew what we were going to order, and had to wait. Then waited for asking about getting the check. Then waited for the chance to get the check. I'm not going to say anything super bad but the waitress was definitely taking care of multiple other things not just us. So maybe short staffed?

I think the prices for the combo of 2 or 3 was rather silly (on both types). There is zero savings on getting two or three that way unless maybe you get the most expensive but even then no!

I kinda thought a combo or multiple order for a single person would get some kind of discount. But according to the prices there basically is none. Oh well...

We left here for Mr Wish but that was a mistake. Maybe we should have tried the desserts here. Maybe next time! Staff was friendly.

I love the interior. Plenty of space, comfortable lighting and nice decor. The sushi is great, and the service has been prompt and super courteous. The waitress/co-owner always makes sure to explain what's in each combo, checks in often, and makes pleasant conversation. I've seen several other customers and delivery people come in and also clearly have a connection with the staff.

Literally the best place i’ve ever eaten at. It’s so small, hardly could find it yet packed full of flavor. I got the fried haddock scallion pancake wrap and it was so good. i am full just eating half of it. My boyfriend got the salmon sushi burrito and he ate that right up. We got the Crab Rangoons as the share item but we ended up sharing it all!!! So good!!

First started ordering from here for the sushi burritos, but now our go-to is the bowls which are easier to eat. The online order ahead menu has very good software and it is easy to customize your order. I've always been impressed by the fresh ingredients in the sushi rolls and bowls, but it is also hard for me not to order the Scallion Pancakes every time.

Absolutely delicious. Brought my family here because I wanted to try a sushi burrito and everyone left happy and satisfied. The food and teas were delicious. They even have options if you don’t prefer seafood or meat. I had the (make your own) tofu sushi burrito, and it was probably one of the best things I’ve eaten.

Very no-frills, hole-in-the-wall place. The fish is so fresh and the prices are very reasonable. It is my go-to place for take out sushi.

Excellent sushi bar! Excellent fresh and reliable fish! We have had it over 3 times and boy it did not disappoint! We have tried multiple nigiris, rolls and sashimi! Reasonably priced and generous with his portions! Don’t let the looks of the place fool you! I’ve had sushi from so many places and I don’t know a place that can beat it for the quality, price and quantity!

It was a chill environment. What I expect on King Street. Earlier in the evening so wasn't a crazy Crowd. I thought it was a bit price. Especially when I can get the same thing 15 minutes away for $20.but the environment gave an upscale appeal.and hostess were nice.drinks were very tasty!.I had the Pom something. Food was done to our liking. No complaints there. I had the yakisoba noodles with chicken, it was nice that the chicken wasn't overdone. The misses had stay hibachi. Steak was pretty tasty. Done perfectly.def a spot to visit while in charleston.even if you go to the one in Summerville, there pretty good!oh and the Summerville,SC spot allows dogs on the outside I believe!

I just ate a salmon burrito here and it honestly was amazing. I am not sure about the last time I ate a quick bite at a place and felt totally satisfied. Great price, FRESH fish, taste was on point and packaging is pretty sleek!

I’ve been coming to Poke Bar since they opened. I’ve tried every other poke place in the surrounding areas and this one is my go to! They have a great variety of protein and mix ins. It always taste so fresh, which i love. And their sauces are amazing. The owner and the staff are super friendly and welcoming every time. In all the years I’ve been coming here, they’ve always been consistent with service and quality. This place is the best poke around here.

I truly love this place, I get excited every time I'm able to come and eat here!! This place is so inviting and the food is absolutely fabulous, they have the yummiest spicy Mayo and house ponzu sauce that they can add to every bowl! My favorite is this bowl with Scallops, shrimp, ahi , avocado, edamame, pineapple, kale, Brown rice and springmix!

Been here a couple of times and the sushi is always really fresh and delicious. The owner is very friendly and they even give you a complimentary miso soup on the side if you dine in. Highly recommend for a quick lunch spot!

One of the last grab and go sushi places I see anymore. So convenient, fair prices, and good sushi with lots of variety. It's not just california rolls, but a lot of the special rolls. They also have Inari whch is something that you don't see very often. The only thing they might not have is uni and ikura. You can also order if you don't see anything you like at the moment. They also do party platters.

My wife and I walked past this restaurant, did a double take and had a delicious meal. Both the salmon and eel sashimi were delightful. The veggie gyoza and dipping sauce were excellent. Their selection of rolls is not what you are used to. They have created some incredible flavor combinations. We enjoyed the Sexy City and Tropical rolls and there were others we cannot wait to try.

My partner and I stopped in here after going to the Mutter Museum. We orded takoyaki as our appetizer, it was alright but I have had better. The main stars though was the sushi! I ordered the White Jade roll which was amazing. It has a unique smokey flavor unlike any other sushi I have had before (the waitress explained the tuna on top is seared which gives it that flavor). My partner got the Beloved and Moonbeam which were also quite tasty! I also thought the prices were reasonable for their special rolls.

I came on a Friday at the insistance of a friend. I tried the edamame dumplings, soft shell crab salad, the sushi platter a toro roll and their Yuzu cocktail. Each dish had a very familiar yet surprising taste. It definitely is not your traditional sushi but a fresh and new innovative take on the cuisine. The pairings of sauces and flavors are on point. Each individual bite has so many levels of flavor that it is indescribable. There's also a very good attention to service. Our waitress, Jennifer, was attentive and took her time to explain each and every dish so that even a sushi novice would feel at ease. I can't wait to go back.

I ordered online and picked up the food curbside, but I went in to pick it up anyway once I arrived. The employee was very nice and helpful. She verified the order and told me I didn’t HAVE to come inside since I put in curbside. I told her I didn’t mind. I’m not sure why but I enjoyed this interaction, she really wanted to give good service, and she did!

The sushi was very good. We got 3 rolls for about $18 which is quite affordable! My date, who was hesitant for sushi, really enjoyed it.

Order here and you will not be disappointed!

We enjoyed a delicious spur-of-the-moment dinner at Machi Sushi recently. Taking advantage of their all-day 3 rolls for $33.95, we got a Sexy City Roll, Dragon Roll, and Yummy Roll. For an appetizer, we had the Spicy Crispy Tuna Wontons and were even surprised to have some complimentary Mango Mochi Ice Cream for dessert.

As you can see the presentation was top-notch. More importantly, everything tasted fresh and delicious! While we dined in there were pickup/delivery orders being grabbed seemingly nonstop. Being new to Philly but having tried a few other places in the area, this is now amongst my go-to places for sushi!

I almost chose another restaurant due to some negative reviews, but we were so glad we didn’t listen! So delicious and flavorful. Everything was perfect, the server and the chefs were all very nice. The serving is very generous and I think the price is fine for how much you get. I also had the gyoza and loved that as well.
Enjoyed my lunch here. Miso soup is really good. Googled Japanese restaurant near me when I happened to be in the area and was happy i came to Higashi! Would definitely come back.
Best Sushi in Long Island! Super cool vibe and friendly service. The warm mushroom salad is so tasty and I love the different textures. The sushi was super fresh and they even have Toro which is my favorite. Will be going back soon.

Higashi is open again for in-person dining! We missed eating here so much, and we enjoyed our recent meal immensely. The food is just as good as ever. We often like to order a selection of appetizers for variety. Our favorites are the sushi, California rolls, gyoza, edamame, tempura, shrimp shumai. Their sushi fish is always fresh. The miso soup is the best ever. Nice people too!

Passing by and gave this a try. Very friendly service! The ingredients tasted fresh. Had tried other Poke Bar locations a couple times, this one was the best.
Omg!! I just moved to Havelock from Newport and we ordered from here….I am so excited!! This hibachi is fantastic! Just as good as any expensive hibachi restaurant. Delivery was pretty fast too. We ordered it two nights in a row 😂 We ordered a shrimp and steak and mixed the dishes. The shrimp were big and plump and the steak was delicious. The veggies are fantastic too! Definitely our new favorite place!

Reasonable pricing and a nice owner. Family owned business, very much a hole in the wall sushi place where both value and quality is more important than decor. You can still eat upstairs. This place is reminiscent of how flushing used to be before it got gentrified. There’s also a duck place right next to it so for 20 bucks you can have a small family meal with a combo sushi and half duck to take home. If not up for duck there’s also a Sichuan mala place in the back.

I’m surprised it took several years for this place to be placed on the map. Guess that’s what happens when the consistently good quality and pricing is enough that regulars keep the place running and turning a profit without any marketing by the business whatsoever. This place very much is a sushi place you go to regularly when you just got that craving. I’m conflicted but, all good things comes to an end. It’s about time that this place finally gets the limelight it deserves. Even if that means this place may end up being swamped by people. And then I’ll have to start from scratch just to find another high quality good value sushi place.

So yeah this place has been a secret of the locals for a long time.

Sushi Tokyo has truly outdone itself! From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the stunning renovations that have transformed the place into a haven of elegance. It's evident that they've not only revamped their interiors but also their menu. The upscale and classy dishes are a testament to the culinary genius of the new chef they've brought on board. Every bite was a delightful journey of flavors, leaving us yearning for more. We hosted a private party here, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our group, presenting us with a menu that had our taste buds dancing in delight and our stomachs utterly content. Kudos to the entire team at Sushi Tokyo for elevating the dining experience to such lofty heights!
I don't know if they got a new owner or what, but this place has turned into one of my favorite Havelock joints. Their sushi is made well-great rice with just enough sourness, decent fish, and the right size. I have had a hard time finding noodles that taste like what you can find in California, but this place does it. The best noodles I've had in this area. Everything since they changed the menu has been fantastic.
I ordered the crab Rangoon and shrimp hibachi with no rice, extra veggies, and a salad with ginger dressing. Crab Rangoon was super fresh. The shrimp were nice and big. There was a nice variety of veggies, all cooked just right. Their yum-yum sauce is really good, too. Not too sweet, not too savory. The prices are very reasonable and there is definitely enough food to fill you up. I look forward to eating there again if I'm ever back in the area.
