The people here are really kind and accommodating. Absolutely will work with you if you want the horse ride to be part of a photo shoot or engagement. The vibes are fantastic at the stables. Cute cat, goat, pony, and mule! The horses are nice and easygoing.

Had a great time doing the trail ride - we loved our horses and felt very comfortable (even with little horseback riding experience). Our trail guides were knowledgeable and Summer at check-in was super helpful when it came to rescheduling after our first ride got canceled because of rain. It's important to note that the trail rides do NOT leave from the actual ranch - they leave from near the OUTPOST area (pictured here).

Very cute, I will definitely come back. The only issue we had was with a not so nice cast member (Morgan). I think she believed we were lying about my twins age. They just turned 2 but they were preemies so they are on the smaller side. She didn’t even let my husband finish the lap. She stopped him before getting to the exit and told him to take my little girl off the pony and she cried. Didn’t let us take pictures, she did to the family before us. Honestly it was very disappointing because we were nothing but nice and super excited for my girls. The other twin was scared so she said no to the ride and instead of offering a second lap to my little girl, we were asked IF we wanted a refund and not in a nice way.
very good service, how good it is to be well attended, congratulations to the team. 8 dollars one lap or 12 dollars two laps, I believe it's worth doing both laps because my daughter was a little scared on the first lap, but on the second she had lost her fear and enjoyed it much more. When we arrived they were washing some horses, impressive how my daughter enjoyed seeing them bathing.
I was so excited to ride a horse. Pay $150 for me and my husband. The lady was nice Emily. But I paid for ride a horse in the same two trails constantly in circles during an hour. That’s not fun at all. If you go ride a horse you are expecting exploring more trails as well. Loved the horses though.

An incredible opportunity to take riding lessons in New York City! They offer private lessons, group lessons, and boarding for your horse if you have your own. The horses are well taken care of, the staff is very friendly, and lessons are surprisingly affordable.

Edit: after reading some of the other reviews I feel like clarifying a few things.

First, no there are no public restrooms. This is an active barn full of highly sensitive, expensive, half-ton animals. Of course there is no public access, that would be incredibly irresponsible and dangerous.

Second, yes the office can be understaffed and can get overwhelmed, but everybody I’ve met is very friendly and working incredibly hard to provide the best experience possible.

Third, this barn is for people who want to learn how to properly ride a horse. There are no trail rides and it is obligatory to start with a 30min private lesson. This is how it should be for any professionally run place that cares about safety and the well-being of their horses.
Thank you Taylor for an unforgettable, breathtaking ride!

Had a really sweet time on the trail ride; the horses are very well trained/gentle and the staff are very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and check on you all throughout the ride. We also enjoyed our time at the pool and campground of Fort Wilderness as we had friends who were camping there during the weekend that we went horseback riding. (I didn't camp there so I can't speak for that but we enjoyed our time at the pool and grilling on the campgrounds as well). Wonderful experience.

I have been riding with Riverdale stables for three years and loved it! They have wonderful instructors for every skill level and ages, and want to help their riders be the best they possibly can be while also staying safe. It is a wonderful community and an amazing experience every day there!
I have been riding at riverdale stables for a very long time now. My riding has improved so much since I started riding there. The staff and grooms could not be nicer. The trainers are patient and understanding but encouraging when it comes to something you’re scared or uncomfortable with. The horses are so sweet and the horses experiences vary from beginner to advanced. For your first time at Riverdale they evaluate you to see what you can do, which is obviously for safety of the horse and the rider. Overall I would definitely recommend Riverdale Stables to anyone who is interested in continuing their riding experience or just starting.
Love the new barn. It is located near the back of the property. There are ablut 90 horses between the front and back barns. The front barn is utilized for trail rides. The ponies and draft horses reaide in the back barn. Draft will pull the carriages for carriage/hay rides among orher tasks. You can pnly tour the front part of the barn but they have several horses up there. Be sure to visit as it id FREE.
Was introduced during Mardi Gra Parade season. Was a wonderful way to meet everyone! They have trail rides on weekends and several programs for youth to adults give Barbie a call!

This was AMAZING! Handlers are great with animals and guests. The ride was a nice length. Trails were newly redone. Horses were fabulous. I would gladly return. This is one of the best kept secrets at WDW. We did not tour any other areas but we will next time.
Returning to riding as an adult has been a wonderful experience at Riverdale. The trainers I’ve had lessons with Caitlin H, Cheryl W and Rebecca M are all wonderfully gentle and encouraging to their beginner lessons (you can see in all of their show ribbons!); while being able to be encouraging yet firm with their older experienced riders who are looking to improve each ride. Every lesson has me wanting to return right away and all of the horses are well turned out.
So glad to be here! Such nice people and will do anything to help.

Great place to board, ride and train on and with your horses.
THE PLACE TO GO! I’m from Iowa, grew up riding and racing MX and ATV, this was a point of interest from the start. I thought it would be a course for beginners but it has an awesome difficulty/ease balance. The “view” as our guide called the spot was breathtaking. Wish I knew our guides name, had blonde hair and was very knowledgeable about the land. He made it a personal experience, told us about the history and his hand in making some of it. An experience I will never forget, and I will be back with more people next time!!! The drive to get there is almost as awesome as the tour itself!! YOU MUST GO TRY IT!

I boarded a few of my horses there for a while and they are WONDERFUL people! Lyndi and Gery make you feel like family, and bend over backwards to help you any way they can. They treat your horses as their own and ensure reliable, quality care. Lyndi always communicated if there were any issues and for any services coming up, like farrier, dental, and vet. I knew my horses were in great hands when I couldn't be around, which is peace of mind. The trails are beautiful and well kept, right on Eagle Creek. Not only were my horses well cared for while they were there, but I also gained wonderful friendships. There was ZERO drama while I was there; the other boarders were really nice and friendly. Great family atmosphere to bring your kid around, too! I will be boarding another horse with them soon when it's time to wean my colt. Always willing to return to their barn if and when needed! Bring a sense of humor, warmth, and a love of horses - you'll fit right in! 🥰
We did the 2hr ATV-Tour with our great guide Tim today and it was so much fun and what a great ranch!! 🤠🇺🇸 Definitely recommend it to anyone!! 🙂👍

I am so happy I reached out to see if we could schedule a trail ride while my granddaughter was visiting. She is already thinking of how to bring her family for a ride. From start to finish our wrangler Emily was fantastic and made the time all that it's suppose to be. I appericated the fast communication to make this activity happen for us.

This place was great, Wife and I had a trail ride with scooter, Horses were very well maintained and obedient. It was really cool walking around the stables. I would highly recommend doing A trail ride to get out of the city for a few hours. Saw some negative reviews Is pertaining to this location,,, Especially about condition of barn and horses. I can assure you that none of those negative reviews are accurate...

I send my love to all the horse's there. Animals are so beautiful, & absolutely amazing! I met two New York City Parks Enforcement Officer's on Father's Day on Johnson Ave. Those two Officer's were very nice, & we had a nice about 10 minute conversation. They were both on two horses. Told me they were doing Park Patrol for that area. I was obviously petting one of the horses a lot. It was wonderful. I feel bad I didn't pet the other one. Didn't think about it. They told me that those two Law Enforcement horses were from down there. Very cool! I got lessons when I was way younger at Riverdale Stables. I love how great they take care of the horses. About 5 months ago I saw one female NYC Parks Enforcement Officer going through the forest part of Van cortlandt Park on one of the horses. Cool. This photo is of the two very respectful Officer's, & the two beautiful horse's I saw on Johnson Ave that day.
I have to add the male Officer was very handsome.
A fantastic get away at Bair Ranch! Did the ATV ride and our guide, Josh, was very informative, knew about the history of the property, and made sure we were comfortable at every point of the ride. The views were immaculate and their space for group events and weddings was beautiful and secluded. I would suggest this for anyone looking for an evening adventure or for a beautiful location for a reunion, wedding, or even bachelor/bachelorette party!
Painted Sky is fantastic stable for horse lovers. I lease a horse here part time - and the people are fantastic. Lorrie the stable manager is extremely smart and cares about the safety of the horses and riders before all else. I so appreciate her focused approach to safety and making sure that owners, lessors, guests understand. The stable has so much to offer from indoor and outdoor arenas, miles of riding trails (trail pass required), many knowledgeable people to have horse conversations with. Plus - the Painted Sky people are a community all to their own - fun loving horse people who love their horses and the awesome outdoors.

Very inconvenient inner city (rock creek park) experience. Lots of residents unhappy over a yuppie takeover on a very transited road.
We loved Tri-circle-D Ranch!!! We had two guides, and they really went above and beyond. It was my son's first riding experience and they walked him through all the steps and made him feel at ease before our 45 minute ride. It was a beautiful day and we will always have fond memories of our 3 beautiful horses... Bart, Cooper and Sherman.
This place is fun for beginners and even experienced riders.

*They even took the time to take some family photos before our ride was over.

Who knew Disney had a horse stable? It was a first for us and we will be back again!! 🐎 ✨

The overall trail ride is great, beautiful views and is about 2 hours long. The guide did an excellent job helping the riders and super friendly. The horses are sweet and well trained. The only thing that was disappointing was that there was no restroom by the stable.
My children ages 13, and 10 loved it!! The staff was very friendly and informative. The horses and stable were lovely. They will be returning for more lessons.

The staff was very kind and patient. They helped to ease a 6 year's fears. I strongly encourage anyone to visit Cascade Stables if they are first time riders. We will definitely be back!
This was for the off-roading Jeep tour. First I want to say, the guide we had was amazing, he truly tried to make the best of the tour but it was just not enough. First off, after being told it would be $275 for 4 people, when it came time to pay, they decided to change the price to $300 for some reason that I still do not understand. In total we paid $330 with taxes for a tour of the ranch. This was not off-roading. We never exceeded 5 mph. It was a super slow and boring 2.5 hr ride. It was not at all what was advertised. We saw barely any wild flowers, the guide stated there were multiple animals on the ranch, thousands of sheep, we never saw ANY. Supposedly the day prior they were all ‘moved’ somewhere else and we couldn’t see them. They showed us an abandoned shack, a cabin they rent for weddings, and that was it. The rest was small talk with the guide for 2.5 HOURS. We were desperate to leave but did not want to be rude. Even the guide asked if we wanted to head back early because ‘most of the people who get the jeep tours are ready to go after an hour and a half’ I can definitely see why. But again, to avoid being rude AND to get our moneys worth of the trip, we stuck it out. Please do not do the jeep tours. It wasn’t even worth $5. The same views you see in the ranch you can see throughout Colorado, you can drive yourself, can go fast, and never spend $300. As for the ranch owners, shame on you for charging $300 for a jeep tour. And even bigger shame on you for labeling it ‘off-roading.’ I felt like an idiot with my seatbelt on going 5mph. Hopefully with this review we can save someone from having such a frustrating and annoyingly expensive day. There’s much better things to do in Colorado and less than $300.

Nice place to learn to ride a horse. They have a covered area where new riders can do laps and learn skills.
What a great community. I've boarded at some large facilities like this one that were CATTY. Everyone here tries to get along and there is a great familial spirit amongst the boarders. It is messy and chaotic at times, but everyone loves and tends for the place like it is their own. In the month I've been here I've seen the dry lots cleared of manure, and the indoor arena freshly dragged and coated for dust. Folks clean up after themselves and their horses--I've never seen boarders so reliably sweep up after grooming their horses. The floors are covered with thick rubber mats, everywhere! The stable manager is very direct, very kind, and fair. There aren't likely to be misunderstandings that lead to a sour feeling when seeing other riders. I wish I'd found this place 10 years ago. This is the closest thing I've ever had to a pony club! (We're all the same horse crazy folks, just older) 😉

EDIT: I just wanted to come back to this now that I've boarded at Skies for a much longer period--since December 2020. Everything I wrote above is still true. This is my favorite stable I've ever had my horses at and I hope to never leave.

Wild Wind provides an excellent experience for those in an equine field. The property offers both a welcoming and friendly staff and a great facility. I 100% recommend Wild Wind for anyone interested in horses.
TOTALLY GORGEOUS!
I was terrified of riding horses but the guide made us so comfortable and relaxed. He matched me with the sweetest horse, Dunnie. The trail was steep, uphill and downhill, but it was worth it for the amazing views. And, he took our picture at the end!!!
Thank you for making our vacation so special!

I loved this place. I will definitely be moving my horse there. :)
Myself and a friend went horseback riding and had the best time. It started out with Emma and Kenyon in the office being the best host and then we had Grace, Shannon and Eric be the most wonderful guides. Emma and Sam cooked a bomb dinner. Such a fun, kind, hardworking and hospitable group of workers. Would recommend to everybody.
It is a tranquil farm with spectacular scenery. All the horses are happy there, with large stalls, regular turnout, and plenty of space to ride. It now hosts the experienced, knowledgeable, ethical, and caring trainer Stacy Falco. I am very excited to see what such such a fabulous trainer and functionally beautiful property will do together!
We had our annual staff party here and it was a blast! We learned a lot about horses: how to groom, feed and ride. We had a demo as well. They are friendly, engaging and knowledgeable. We can't wait to go back!

This is the park that I grew up playing cricket. One of my favorite park in the city. I wish the park department never took away two of us pitches. It is unfortunate that they took it away from us. But thanks to the park department for giving us the space and giving us a place to enjoy our weekends. I wish there more bathrooms. Anyways I’m looking forward to next season. Enjoy all three sports in the park!
