Reason for my rating is cause there were four creepy Asian men who approached my 8yr old brother when I had my back turned while we were fishing. They were way too close to him and they were all smiling and touching him. Never had this issue with the last 2 years I’ve lived here. I spoke to my little brother and even he told me that he had bad feelings about them when they first got near us.
This is a very nice quiet place. However over the years the geese or ducks have made a mess. You can't even walk around the path without trying not to step in the geese or ducks poop. I suggest some one come wash the walkway down daily.
Beautiful place to hang out with your family. Spacious parking lot and nice bike trail. Much recommended 👍🏻
Good fishing lake that has a great trail system around it. Lake is stocked. Multiple benches and spots along the lake to cast even if it is crowded. Decend picnic area as well. High suggest for beginners to fishing and children.
It's really pretty, and peaceful. Although I didn't fo fishing, my hike was amazing
I've tried live bait, artificial and you name it. Can someone please stock the lake with largemouth bass. The keystone cops patrol asking everyone for a license. Do we really need a license if there's no fish in the damn Lake?
Place is clean. Can by bait and fishing license there. Didn't catch much. People that do catch stuff tend to keep it so nothing ever grows of size. Guy next to me was keeping small bluegills and hand size crappie. Brother gunna brother
Incredibly peaceful place!
Terrible place! I paid for a dock slip all season, I’m never coming back. The owner is a rude old lady, always mad. Seems like we were there as a favor, not as costumers paying her. My car is scratched all over because their dogs will be jumping around when you park. This place sucks!!!!
Beautiful park with a cool visitor center. You can rent motor boat, pedal boats, and kayaks to explore the lake with family or fish. Had a good time with the family.
Lots of baby catfish and finally caught a 6 inch perch, I think don't quote me after an hour.

My family hosts picnics here annually and it always turns out well. Lots of picnic tables and shade. There is a nearby lake that you can rent canoes, kayaks, and peddle boats from. Plenty of restrooms available. Family friendly. Just wish there were a playground of some sort for young children.
Was my favorite place to go growing up and now they are super lame. Raised their prices on everything and they are never open. Even before the pandemic the website would say open and then they wouldn't be. Do us a favor and sell the property to people who actually want to run the place.
I have been fishing here for over ten years. In my opinion the lake has become really grassy the shore line for bank fishing is tall with grass or plants . Early morning bites was good at one time now you can wait 2hrs and nothing. I wonder if they still stock the Lake
Lots of hiking, kayaking, fishing opportunities. Picnic areas with beautiful views. Swimming area, now with child life-jackets to use free. Run by Army Corps of Engineers.
My favorite place to run in Pboro. The wooded trail that starts near the dam is magical, especially towards the end just before reaching the road. If you run on the road a bit you can do a loop around the lake.
Very pretty place. I went here this summer to go on a walk and it was amazing. Amazing views lots of stuff to look at. Great for fishing and even if you just wanna sit back by the lake and chill. Seen some wildlife, pretty views, seen lots of cute animals.
This place was a beautiful, unexpected surprise! My mother had a wonderful time fishing. The park was clean and ease to access. They have almost everything you need there. Snacks, boats, fishing license, tackle and bait. The scenery was just beautiful and serene. It's a nice place to go to just to get away from the busy city.
Quiet . But fishing is a little on the slow side. Lots blue gills but no big fighters , says has pike and large cats but no luck for me .

You can walk to horsetail lake from swallow cliff. The lake is serene. The walk is even better.
I've been going to this place since 1990. The family who allows you to come onto to their own property is amazing!!! Minimal fee, rent a kayak, canoe, paddle boat, not sure if they still have row boats, swim, jump, slide, sun bath, bring n eat lunch, snack bar, n enjoy summer. Picnic tables & playground. Last time I checked they were open mon-fri till 5pm.

Full tree coverage surrounding the lake, no houses and fairly quiet. Not a lot of folks traffic here which is perfect for me 😅

My daughter and I had a wonderful time renting a kayak and exploring the lake. The staff working at this small local beach were lovely and helpful. The rates are reasonable and affordable for a family. And while out on the water we got to see the bald eagles that live on a center island. We will definitely return to this lovely beach.
It is a really nice and tranquil place to visit. You can fish here if you want to (permit required). No real complains about anything here. Plenty to see and do if you are an outdoors kind of person. The lake is gorgeous and lends it self for a great background for landscape photography.

My boyfriend and I come here often despite they're extremely rude demeanor, inconsistent hours ( there's no way of knowing until you get there if they're actually open during normal hours because they never answer the phone even when they are there) and just all around horrible to deal with. The only reason we continue to go is because they're moderately priced and 5 minutes from our house.
This place is so unique- it's authentic Americana. Visiting here is like stepping back in time and it's a wonderful place to spend a day. Also it's remarkably clean for having so many visitors.

went over to this place to get some fishing in. they told me that i had to go as i did not own a dock. rude maintenance person. would not give me his name so i could complain. since they might own the land they do not own the water. and if they do not want you there they should post it. i am starting an official complaint with the state and maybe the town of shrewsbury
Nice, family-run business with attractions for kids and adults alike. Does kayak/canoe/paddleboat rentals but also offers lifeguarded swimming, slides, games, etc. Friendly old dog creates a welcoming atmosphere. The staff was very nice. We accidentally broke an oar and they forgave us the cost instead of charging us the replacement fee. Would highly recommend and return again.
