I had made a purchase today at compare foods as I was in the neighborhood and I made a major mistake of not viewing the date of their meat package as soon as I open up the package of meat it had the most rotten garbage smell, and I checked the label and it says sale by December 3. It’s December 7th today which it’s been past 4 days of date. I went ahead and called the store to let them know that I just did a purchase and that I am 20 minutes away from their store and that I wish to speak to a manager to let them know of a rotten product that they sold me and wanted a refund for it as I was going to provide them photos video copy of my receipt so they can see my purchase as I did not wanna go and drive 20 minutes out there for a six dollar purchase as it would cost me that much of gas money to go out there and was hoping for them to give me a refund via phone and they refuse my request. They told me that owner manager was not in at the store today and that I could go into the store any day to get a refund. This store sells expired food which I strongly suggest everyone to check what they’re purchasing because this is how we spread food illnesses due to lack of management in these supermarkets. I contacted the health department, expressing my concern for them to do a visit at their location, and I’m hoping that whoever visits the supermarket to be very cautious on what they buy. yes, it was my mistake of not looking at the date, but as a responsible business owner, which I am regardless of the type of trade, I will not sell anything expired to someone.

Only gave one star because there was no option for 0/5…Loyal customer (been using this family owned store for 15 years) Bought a vape for $30 and it didn’t work at all drove off not knowing it wasn’t functional. Called the store 9 min later and asked if I could come back to swap it and the owner said no and that I should have tried it in the store (she forgot to mention this while I was purchasing it) and when I began to explain how long I’ve been using their store she hung up on me. I feel hustled, poorly treated, and undervalued as a customer… very disappointed in them and how they treat their customers. It saddens me but I will NOT be going back

I enjoy shopping at Compare Foods. Produce is always fresh and the variety is amazing. They have cuts of meat that I can’t find anywhere else. Always a butcher there to help, like removing the membrane from beef and pork ribs. The staff is always helpful and anxious to make sure I’m satisfied.

Compare Foods of Clayton is a nice place to buy groceries. The price is affordable. Even though it’s a small place for some, this place is full of stocks and varieties of goods. I happen to pass this area and found this place really good to buy something to eat.

Me? Personally speaking, on a personal level, I dig this place. Eugene is full to the brim of these Mom and Pop Shoppes. One of the best things the city has going for itself. I cannot lie. Pleasant atmosphere here. Pleasing people work here. Any convenience or inconvenience you could wish for is to be found here. Go for it.

Locally owned convenience store! Beer selection is great and cheaper than Sundance next store, and you can buy smoking products, kratom, etc. One of my favorite convenience stores in Eugene actually.

Been spending tons of money here monthly on meats for our deep freezer with no issues. Bought a few pork tenderloins and sliced up to store in the freezer like we always do and ended up with pork that smells and tastes like manure. Apparently its boar taint. Now I dont feel comfortable feeding the meat to my family and kids and have no idea how much is like that. In these times especially a family can't afford something like this to happen. Im so upset.

I have been coming here for quite awhile . Today I was treated with attitude from the cashier , I was simply just suggesting to leave the lemons as it is and then said “Im doing my job , like hello” and rolled her eyes . The time was 2:34pm and my receipt is labeled as Angeles for my cashier attendant , I even tried leaving off on a good note by saying “thank you have a great day” and no response was given back . Although the food and prices are amazing the customer service isn’t .

I visit this convenience market at least once a week. It is family run and staffed. Their prices are cheaper than 7/11 and their beer is often cheaper than Safeway. The more recently hired staff member who works nights is great. The family is also very friendly with excellent customer service. This business has a small town feel to it. They recognize customers, are generous people, and care about their community. They also have delicious samosas.
During the snow storm last year when much of the city was closed down they opened up shop when few others had. It was extremely helpful for folks in the neighborhood to get some much needed food items, drinks and other staples.

This is my neighborhood quick trip! The owners are awesome people, and it's a family run business. There is a huge beer cooler, and wide selection of snacks and drinks. My favorite part about the store, is if you need some random thing, you can probably find it here. There's a little bit of everything. Their glass section is pretty great too! ❤

Very good prices on fresh produce. You can find a lot of great prices on many unusual products that are in staple in my personal pantry. Boulghour comes to mind. Besides this the employees are very personable unlike Walmart (which I boycott) where they are abrubt and perfectly unpleasant.

Just left, the young lady at the register did not speak to me but hiccupped in my face the entire time while checking me out. Very unprofessional. I didn't get a "have a nice day either" as she still had hiccups, but the next customer was greeted! This is the first bad experience so I will definitely keeping shopping there for the great prices on meats.

Never knew about this place we found some really cool foods to try, cashier was pleasant. The employee in the produce felt, spoke no English, I tried to use ehat words I knew to say I understand the language she said in Spanish, "learn spanish white girl" I had to walk away.
