We are so pleased with the Katherine Thomas School. They are extremely strengths-focused and positive in their approach. Our daughter is making great progress there and feels comfortable and confident in the school environment. We are very grateful!
My daughter has a severe processing delay and dyslexia. She is doing great at the Katherine Thomas School. She started there at the beginning of sixth grade after transferring from a special ed classroom in MCPS (these MCPS programs only run through elementary school). The learning at KTS is paced so that my daughter can keep up and thrive academically. She feels confident in herself which is really important to me. The staff is great with the kids and very professional. They offer a lot of fun after school programs like Girls on the Run or Basketball.
The Katherine Thomas School (KTS) is a transformative community where students with learning differences thrive. Led by Executive Director Dr. Patricia Ritter and a dedicated leadership team—Chief Financial Officer Suellyn Sherwood, High School Director Rhona Schwartz, and Lower and Middle School Director Dr. Nicole Abera—KTS fosters confidence, resilience, and independence through inclusive, personalized programs.

Every member of the KTS team is awesome, from educators to therapists to support staff, all working tirelessly to empower students to excel academically and in life. As proud parents, we cannot thank you enough for your unwavering dedication and life-changing service.

THANK YOU!!
I came here for tennis elbow issues. Kelsey is my therapist and I absolutely love coming here. The front staff is very professional, helpful and efficient. I love that there’s no waiting time when I come to my appointments. I come in at my appointment time and they are already waiting for me. I love it
I had an excellent experience at the NRH Rehabilitation Network office at Wheaton. The location is very convenient for anyone who shops regularly at the Wheaton Mall --- for me, it was a 15 minute walk, which was a bonus opportunity for me practice my walking exercises. The therapists almost always start the scheduled session on time (the most I ever had to wait was about 2 minutes, and that was rare), and they were all encouraging, engaged in the job, and a pleasure to work with. I had four therapists at different times work with me, using a variety of exercises both relevant and challenging, while keeping track of my progress on laptops. I highly recommend this location.
Physical Therapist are kind and knowledgeable of exercises for their patients. I regained my left leg strength after the surgery on my knee replacement. Thank you to all the kind hearted Physical Therapists who helped me, specially to Miss Michelle Munguia for giving me a massage at the end after each session. Thank you all.
Occupational Therapist Kelsey Shoemaker helped me regain strength and flexibility in my hands due to osteoarthritis and carpal tunnel issues. She is patient, gentle, always on time, and answers questions thoroughly. During my last appointment with her she graciously helped me set up an at-home plan to continue with the exercises she taught me. I highly recommend her to future patients.
As a student who goes to this school I will give this a 10 out of 10
Queen Anne Healthcare has a very good professional and well skilled staff who are very committed to every patient living in their premises. Patients and residents are well fed and always good looking. They welcome visitors very well and give assistance if needed. I recommend you Queen Anne Healthcare in Seattle because they are indeed professionals. My mom is leaving there after her stroke since February 2023 and yet she feels at home. God bless you!
Kelsey has been amazing. She was my 4th OT in a short period of time and I am grateful that NRH Wheaton hired her. I have been fortunate to work with her to help get back the mobility in my wrist after I broke it. She has many skills, is incredibly knowledgeable in the area of physiology, and has a really great personality! She considers the whole person and works with them to gain success.
Chloe and her colleagues were wonderful! Professional and gentle, they really helped improve my mobility and made me look forward to my appointments. I learned a lot, especially about having the right footwear that has made my walks enjoyable. Thank you!!
The staff were excellent and spent a full hour with me. They were not rushed and were happy to see me. I came to PT mainly to increase strength which I had lost due to losing 30 pounds. Interestingly, they found that I had a balance problem which put me at risk of falling. After my series of visits, I was measurably stronger and was more adept at walking. I recommend the PT therapists without hesitation.
أتمنى لكم قضاء وقت ممتع ومفيد
The people there are so great. They are very friendly and caring. I would highly recommend.
My four year old LOVES attending school each day. He is happy and safe. He is very speech delayed and after just a few weeks is making improvements. We’re so glad he’s here!
Our child attended KTS starting in 4th grade. We are so impressed with his progress and confidence since attending. The staff care and are dedicated. Couldn't ask for a better educational experience.
Global gave me an opportunity to execute my passion for caring for others. The bond I was able to develop with the clients are invaluable and is something I’ll carry with me the rest of my life. Working at the clinic really gave me the perspective and experience I needed.
The staff exuded warmth and professionalism. The atmosphere was inviting, creating a comforting environment. The medical professionals demonstrated genuine care, taking the time to listen attentively to the concerns and providing thorough explanations. Their commitment to patient well-being was evident in every interaction. The clinic truly cared for anyone seeking a healthcare provider that goes above and beyond in delivering genuine care.
Loved working with the kids here! I learned a lot.
Global Center For Autism Services or GCAS is a wonderful company to work with a caring, flexible & compassionate staff and leadership. The center takes pride in serving children and families and the goal is to provide services that best meet the children’s need. The staff is considerate of each child’s individual needs and will make accommodations such as bilingual services and individualized treatment planning using clinical observation and parent input. As an ABA clinic they do a great job at making behavior interventions and management effective and equitable for the clients. As an employer they are flexible and hire a diverse staff. They also accommodate in scheduling allowing flexible hours. There’s even a tuition assistance program to further employees studies in ABA. Overall it’s a great place to work and if you’re a parent it’s a wonderful place to send your child the service, care and attention your child will receive is unique and second to none.
As a current employee, I am satisfied with my company. The system is fair, rewarding hard work.

If you lack enthusiasm, fail to interact with clients, deviate from the planned treatment, and simply sit there playing with your phone, you WILL be terminated. It is not only unfair to your colleagues, patients, and their families but also has a detrimental impact on the company's culture.

The company pays attention to your attitude, professionalism, punctuality, and leave, and your year-end bonus is closely tied to these factors. It is inappropriate to maliciously criticize the company or call the front desk and make our receptionist feel uncomfortable after your termination. Taking responsibility for oneself, identifying areas for improvement, and striving to become a better person is the right, positive attitude towards life.

And regarding your accuse, I have different perspectives.
"They let viruses spread by accepting sick children". We conduct body checks in the morning and afternoon. If we notice anything, we inform supervisors and ask parents to pick up the child if the condition is serious.
"The rooms are dirty; they don’t clean the toys". All rooms and toys are cleaned after each session.
"They hire inexperienced and don’t fingerprint employees, which is mandatory". The company hires inexperienced employees and provides training. Each therapist must pass an exam and obtain certification to conduct therapy sessions. It is common in all autism clinic. Fingerprinting is mandatory.
"The employees are only there for a paycheck". Yes, everyone is here for a paycheck.
"They have roaches". We do not have roaches; that's disgusting. However, we do have ants in the rooms close to the window. I hope the company can address this issue.
"They are always hiring because they are not a good company; this is supposed to be a clinic for special needs but is treated as a daycare". The turnover rate for RBTs is always high in the field; it's just the nature of the job. It is definitely not an easy job, and many people use the work experience to pursue graduate school. To avoid becoming a daycare, the company terminates individuals who do not interact with their clients, do not follow the treatment plan, and just play on their phones.
Do not take your kids to this facility, they let viruses spread by accepting sick children. The rooms are dirty. they don’t clean the toys. They hire inexperienced and don’t finger print employees which is mandatory. The employees are only there for a check. The owners are not involved and very unprofessional and disrespectful. They have roaches. They are always hiring because they are not a good company. this is supposed to be a clinic for special needs but treat it as a daycare.
If I could write this review without any stars I would!
For starters the director showed me he didn't want to work with my son or myself on our first virtual meeting, he should have been professional enough to tell me that very moment he didn't want to work with us, then one of the therapist who came out to my house to conduct my son's initial assessment, clearly stated she can approve my son for 30 plus hours of in facility treatment! Only for her to schedule a virtual to meeting to reschedule the meeting to tell me they refuse to work with my baby because he has allergies to nuts! If you can help it please don't place your baby in the care of these people, they clearly don't care at all and play games!
My grandad spent less than 48 hours at this location. He's almost 90 years old, battling dementia, and shockingly, he managed to slip away from the site without a single soul noticing. He had been transferred there from the hospital, and it's utterly enraging to think that this company accepted him, knowing full well they didn't have the proper security measures in place. They were fully aware that he was a flight risk. Not one person bothered to call his family, and the staff displayed a stunning level of nonchalance and carelessness throughout. The Director, despite numerous calls, never once reached out to us, and the excuse was that she was too "busy." This behavior is not just unacceptable; it's downright outrageous and heartbreaking. The complete lack of empathy and responsibility on the part of this company is beyond infuriating. They need to be shut down immediately.

My aunt was here for a broken hip and thee nurses would bring her cold food also when she pushed the call button no one would come for a hr! This is unbelievable and very unprofessional and neglect to a patient I am a CMA and this was beyond if I could give 0 star I would. What if a patient was too be having a medical emergency they wouldn't even know because they took a hr to attend my aunt... they also said that she was pushing the button to much that is NOT to be Said at all that is your JOB! I am very happy she is no longer there .

I found only 2 reviews that were from actual patients and/or their families, which is obviously fake and created by the employees of this facility. All of the other reviews are from employees that work there. My best friend was placed here after a major stroke just last week. So, far this place has been nothing but problems. The people that work here are disrespectful and totally inconsiderate. They speak to each other is some other language in front of their clients and visitors constantly. I believe that to be so incredibly rude. and now, last night when I stopped to see her, I was told by one of the orderlies that my friend "fell out of her wheelchair" and that is why she is covered in bruises. How does one "fall out of their wheelchair" in the first place? and isn't the insurance company paying these people to be my friends "care-givers?" NO care is involved with any of that! How is it that she was left alone and in a wheelchair by herself long enough for her to fall out of a sitting position unsupervised? How is any of that even possible? and how does one get all these bruises "falling" from a sitting position to the floor? That wouldn't be a very far drop at all!
When I asked questions to the staff here, I was disregarded and no one would give me any answers. Wow! Disgusting that people are allowed to treat others this way, especially when they are being paid good money to be "care-giving!"
This place is amazing, I came in with 1 working leg and left with 3. I was recovering from broken leg bones, torn ligaments and full quad Rupture and knee surgeries (fell off a waterfall) and over the course of just a few months, I'm almost at 80% muscular strength and can take part in cycling, lifting weights and hiking. I have nothing but good things to say about these guys. PS Chloe (DPT) knows her craft, finding new and ever changing ways to remind me that I have a lot to go before reaching and exceeding my previous performance level. ✊🏿✊🏼✊🏾 #respect
My 96 year old grandmother stayed here for 5 weeks following a broken hip last year. The nursing staff are amazing, she was very well taken care of and we were able to visit her often. She got 3 hot meals every day and was pretty happy with them. She had PT and OT multiple times per week - both services were great and so effective that she was back on her feet (with a walker) and back home very quickly! Social services and therapy did a great job coordinating her discharge home and making sure that all pharmacy, equipment, and home health needs would be met from the second she went home. I am very grateful to the whole staff for taking such good care of her and helping her recover so quickly. Nobody ever wants to have to stay in a nursing facility, but if you do, this is a great choice.
Amazing place to work where the focus of staff is teamwork to provide the safest and best care for patients. Co-workers feel like a family. The company is always doing something to show appreciation for employees. Queen Anne is always encouraging and supporting staff to continue education and rooting you on along the way.
I am proud to be part of the Queen Anne family. My sister's first job was at Queen Anne and had retired from Queen Anne. I followed suit, started at QA and will retire here. I enjoy my work, started as a receptionist and step up to the business office. Along the way, I have accumulated friends and lots memories. I have a very small family, my sister, my daughter and myself that is why Queen Anne is my family. I know they will always stand by me.
Queen Anne Healthcare is a great place to work! Their patient ratio to staff is GREAT! If you are looking to further your education...THEY ARE VERY SUPPORTIVE AND ENCOURAGING for you to do so. I have never worked at a place where your patients and staff become a big family! THIS AVAMERE LOCATION IS WHERE YOU WANT TO BE AND NOT FORCED TO BE!!!
Wonderful School! Kind, compassionate, and dedicated teachers. My son has made tremendous progress since attending KTS. Highly recommended.

Worse school ever. I wish I could give this school 0 stars. All they care about is money. They just want money and the teachers are rude to my sister. They don't care about special needs students, the staff yell at the children. Awful school in general.
Divine Academy has been life changing for my son and our family. I was so unhappy with the public school system. Im so glad I found Divine Academy. They have great teachers and staff that care so much for the children. My son feels safe and protected in this school. There is no fear of bullying or stereotyping because everyone there is seen as equal. The administration is amazing and so helpful. Their doors are always open. The staff is beyond exceptional. They are there to help your child succeed. And their new facility is beautiful. I would highly recommend Divine Academy to any parent with a child that has special needs. You won't regret it.

Divine Academy is a wonderful school! I was desperate to find the perfect setting for my son with Autism who is able to handle academics but his anxiety kept him from being a part of a mainstream setting. Divine Academy offers everything we have ever hoped for. The teachers and staff love the students and challenge them appropriately every day. Their new building offers all of the resources that every student needs as well as the opportunity to be outside, play sports, participate in extracurricular activities and life skills programs. We love Divine Academy!

Our son has been in this school for over a year and he is very happy to be part of it. The teachers are very kind, and treat the students with dignity. We are also very satisfied with the services provided by the school. Thank you for the incredible work you do!

I have 2 children with Autism on opposite ends of the spectrum. They have both been with Divine for 6 years and are thriving! Divine offers wonderful specials, amazing facilities, life skills, social skills, leadership skills, and after school clubs! Both of my children have advanced academically since they've been with Divine and they truly love going to school!

One of the best schools I have gone to! Made plenty of friends there and would always recommend this school to anyone.
I went through 7 of the 8 years (skipped year 6) there, and loved it. They have so many different strategies in place for each student. Looking forward to seeing the renovations once they’re complete!

Fantastic school that specializes in providing need based learning for children with disabilities. Small classrooms equal a higher quality education. Everyone deserves the same education. Divine Academy holds that ideal closely.

We love Oakwood! It was a game changer for our family when we transferred there after two tough years in public school. My son instantly felt at home and it has been incredible to see his confidence and learning grow each year. Every year we've had a great teacher team that has supported him in his social-emotional growth and in his academics - helping him learn strategies that work especially for him.

This year was no different - even with distance learning Oakwood continued to help my son engage on learning materials and with his peers. They quickly transitioned to online classes, gave my son a set schedule to provide predictability, and continued his coursework, including art, music and PE. He had OT online and tools were sent to our house so he was prepared for class. He learned new material, became a pro at google classroom, and had enough work to keep him engaged and learning. It wasn't the year any of us planned, but Oakwood certainly made the best of it and my son is sad to see the school year end. He loves school!

Oakwood changed our family's life. We were losing our joyful, curious child to a painful IEP process and unprepared school system. Her confidence dropped and anxiety increased in public school because they were not meeting her needs. We are so thankful we found Oakwood. It is full of empathetic, skilled educators that meet the children where they are and equip them with strategies so they can become independent, confident learners. Oakwood is unmatched when it comes to helping kids with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD. They also focus on the importance of life skills and building strong social relationships. Our child went from refusing school and feeling like she had no friends to loving Oakwood, all her teachers, and forming close friendships. Birthday party and playdate invites went up and our child no longer feels isolated. In turn, our family is less stressed and more connected. Oakwood has truly transformed our child's life and trajectory and we will be forever grateful. I cannot recommend the school enough.

It be lit. They have the best over night field trips, actually decent lunch, no uniforms, and you still learn stuff because they help you when you ask for it, and more than half of the teachers are pretty chill..sometimes lol
I got into a horrible car accident and Natalie the Physical Therapist was kind, caring, experienced and highly skilled. She educated me on what tools I need at home and now I feel wonderful. I do not think I would of ever regained mobility without this practice. Pam the Occupational Therapist is exceptional. I highly recommend Creative Therapy Solutions for all of your therapeutic healing needs.
I have mobility issues and my doctor recommended that I have physical and occupational therapy. My doctor sent orders to Creative Therapy Solutions and as soon as the orders were received I was very thoroughly evaluated. I was very impressed with not only their timeliness but their knowledge of what was needed. I was given written exercise programs that have increased over time. A slow start was provided because I was nervous about my balance. I was taught some occupational tips that made improvements to my everyday life. They discuss everything with me, always keeping me informed. They worked around my cataract surgery schedule and various doctors appointments. They have interacted with my primary. These two women are working very hard to keep me independent. They are very kind, checking on all aspects of my life yet at the same time they are not invasive. They make me feel like “I am driving this train” however they are the expects. I have never disagreed with they suggestions. Pam Sledge and Irene Conlon get very high marks from me. I am extremely grateful to have them in my life.

After 8 years at Oakwood, my son recently started 9th grade at an area college prep school. Although I already thought the world of Oakwood, I was thrilled and amazed to see how well prepared he was for high school. I am now able to "norm" his skill level against "typically developing" students, and am so grateful to realize his abilities are certainly on par with, and in many areas beyond, those of his peers. Oakwood is an excellent educational experience for any student. We initially went to Oakwood to protect my son's self-image and grow his confidence as he learned to cope with his learning differences, and we ended up with a strong learner well-equipped to handle the demands of a college prep curriculum.
I graduated in 2010. I have fond memories of this school. It’s one of the few schools that I truly enjoyed and made friends.
The Oakwood School is an outstanding K-8 coed day school for children with learning differences. As a child psychologist, I have been recommending Oakwood to Northern Virginia families living closer to DC for over a decade now. In addition to their strong reading, writing and math curriculum, their Team Model Concept and Social Affective Program allow for more focused individualized educational support for each of their students unique learning strengths and challenges. This is a family run school, not a corporately run one, and the warmth and care that goes along with that is invaluable for children and rare these days. I, myself, experienced that warmth and care as a professional when I presented this past Wednesday evening as a speaker by invitation of The Oakwood School Parent Association. Mr. Lane McIntyre, the Associate Director of Oakwood School, along with Ms. Lee Lynch and Ms. Muriel Jedlicka of the Oakwood Team, were on hand to assist me in my presentation. Their warm welcome was appreciated, but more importantly, their involvement during and after my presentation contributed to a rich and thought provoking discussion for those in attendance. Keep up the great work Oakwood, and I will continue to spread the word in support of your fine school.

Divine Academy is an outstanding school for those who need better structure, better learning skills and how to become better individuals. Divine Academy is the school for your children who have difficulty learning the basic reading and math to enhance their motor skills. I highly recommend this school to those that say you "cannot" get your child to learn to read and write. Divine Academy can prove them wrong.
As the director of a private mental health practice in Northern Virginia, parents frequently asked about programs and school placements for their children -- the Katherine Thomas School is always high on my list. I have especially been impressed with their early intervention preschool program and their high school program for teens with high functioning autism (formerly known as Asperger's). Keep up the great job KTS!

Our son thrived at Oakwood - He is a struggling reader with severe dyslexia. Thanks to the small class sizes and trained staff, he is on grade level in his classes (with the exception of reading) which never would have happened in our local school. He is a confident learner, ready for high school!!

My son Mark attended the Baltimore Lab School from 2001-2009. He loved the school, especially the Clubs! He uses the information he learned in the Renaissance Club every day.
