An outstanding company from the quality and diversity of their products to their sales person to the delivery team to the installers. The people we worked with were knowledgeable and most important shared information and offered guidance. The installers were conscientious about the overall appearance of the floor and took the time to point out features of the flooring material. It was a pleasure working with everyone at Atlantic Hardwoods.
Capitol Iron Works is truly an extraordinary place, especially in this day and age. Ivette, who was my point of contact, was responsive and knowledgeable throughout the process. The estimate was made via photos, received within 24 hours. The work itself was done the morning after I submitted my down payment. I needed the workmen to delay their start till 11:30, and they agreed. The foreman, Noel, showed up 10 minutes early, and explained everything. The workman ship was flawless. The crew was efficient and pleasant. The clean up was immaculate.
All in all, I could not be more happy, and because I do a lot of this stuff, I am very hard to please. Bravo!!!

I had my basement stairs done recently the guys at Step By Step were amazing. Cleaned up afterwards better than I would have thought. Very professional. And no question was too small for Rob the owner to address it and take care of it. Amazing. So glad companies like this with old-school values still exist. Amazing job. I loved everything about it.
Excellent service from Juan Vargas and his team. The railings we ordered are beautifully made, exactly as we wanted. We like the alternating straight and twisted spindles. The installation team came to our home on time and did a thorough job. Our front steps are now more attractive and safer than they were before. Pricing was very competitive with other proposals. I recommend Capitol.
Capitol Iron Works built a custom metal pergola according to our basic design. They visited the site several times to be sure the dimensions and details were exactly what we wanted and then fabricated and installed within the promised timeframe. The process of building a home can be quite complicated and stressful. I am extremely thankful I was able to meet Miguel to help me with the construction of my home. He guided me through the construction process and gave guidance on what needed to be changed so the outcome will always be better than expected. The cellar stair came out very nice and the entire process was easy.
We knew Miguel was the right fit for our project from our first meeting. From that point all the way through our final inspection and even coming back to touch up finishes, he brought great positive energy to the effort. That combined with solid quality workmanship and the best customer service I can remember led to a great overall experience. We stayed in our home the whole time and they built our addition around us. He and his crew took the time to make sure that we were safe and comfortable the whole time – accommodating me, my wife, our kids and our elderly dog. We’re looking forward to having MV Contractors back to help us with more of our projects and highly recommend that you talk to them about yours.
2020 had a fire in my house lost almost the complete house. It was just when we faced the horrible pandemic so my panic was at the highest level- contacted Miguel from MVCONTRACTORS and his response was how is everyone doing ,is everyone safe. And he said I’m my way now to see the damage. That showed me how much he care about his clients. After so many back in fort with my insurance company I hired him do the job because I new since they one he was the right for it. In less than a year he finished the construction from bottom to top. Like promised he game the keys the day he finished. Me and my family can’t be more grateful

I contacted Capital Iron Works to build four security grilles for my windows, and an error occurred with my work that was only discovered during the installation.
When plans go awry, a company shows its true character by its response. Capitol Iron Works rebuilt my project from scratch and kept me apprised of its progress. The new grilles were installed today by a knowledgeable and experienced team and were everything I had hoped. I’m looking forward to working with Capitol Iron Works on other projects in the upcoming months.

Absolute experts in all applications of wood. Don’t let the disorganization distract you. Their focus is on quality and their expertise is beyond question. My “go too” for dimensional and live edge lumber of all species. Mark is an amazing wood worker and Glenn is a master of hard wood flooring.
He didn’t just took a long time to finish the work he promised he was going to deliver on a certain day , he also didn’t have the wood we paid for. After redoing the stairs twice he left the work unfinished. Unprofessional and rude once he left the work unfinished never return the calls . He send the two kids that work with him To finish the work and they left it improperly done. Not a reliable company.
During the estimate walk through, I was promised they would work around my house’s waste pipe so the pipe would not have to be moved or changed. Basement stairs are then installed and my waste pipe now is back pitched, resting ON a tread significantly elevated. These stair installers elevated my waste pipe enough to potentially cause some serious and smelly damage. It was so back pitched, it showed up on a simple level. I had to hire a plumber to fix this problem caused by this company when they promised me it wouldn’t be a problem. They didn’t even communicate to me during the install that they had to abandon the original plans. I called and left a message with them explaining the situation but have not heard back either. So now I’m out the money to fix their mistake/shortcut. They took the job despite not being able to deliver on promises or do it properly causing me more time and money to fix it with a plumber. I was very disappointed they didn’t call me back either. I was going to recommend them to my parents who need a big stair project done but never in a million years now.

Capitol Iron just completed their 3rd project for me. It was handrails on a porch. They did an outstanding job. Jose and Paul were very professional and neat in their work. Highly recommend using Capitol Iron.

All three were powder coated. I am very impressed with their work and professionalism. They were quick to respond to my initial request and their follow up and installation were excellent. While they had to do the installation in freezing weather, they did not stint or ask for a delay.
I have another small project and am planning to have them do the work.

We live in Massachusetts, we were visiting Portland and happened across Atlantic Hardwoods. We had been shopping everywhere for the right floor for our Townhouse so we stopped in. They have the most beautiful ash we had ever seen. Other places were not even offering it or had very little. We went with Wickham Hardwood Flooring, 4 1/4 " wide. Jack was amazing to work with and helped the project go so smooth. They delivered the wood to us. We had our own installer. He was not familiar with the product but was very impressed! Every piece of wood was perfect, hardy used any of the extra we ordered. We are using it towards another room.

Whatever woman answers the phones, she is undoubtedly the rudest @$%#£ I have ever dealt with. My husband left a message on a Friday to set up an appointment for an estimate. My husband bit his tongue with how rude even setting up the appointment was with her. I then called to check the status on Wednesday. She said “I told everyone who called it would be a week!! If that doesn’t work for you, find someone else to do your work!!” Are you serious? Don’t you worry, we will you nasty obnoxious miserable woman! Go crawl in a hole! Do not use this company, regardless of the quality of whoever does the work, i started reading reviews and this is not the only one in regards to customer service. I’m seriously appalled and we will take our $6-10,000 job elsewhere!!

Rob did an excellent job on our stair railings. He just completed his second job for us - installing wooden newel posts, balusters and a wraparound banister on a half-open staircase for a new addition. He’d already built a solid basement stair-rail for us a few years ago. Rob does beautiful work, and each time, he did an awesome job cleaning up. We were particularly impressed this time around, with how quickly he worked and how well he protected our newly finished floors and stair treads. He’s efficient, neat, reliable and reasonable. We’d highly recommend Rob.
Jorge, Miguel, Camila and the team did a great job designing, fabricating, and installing our new architectural awning. It was surprisingly difficult to find a contractor to do this work at what seemed a reasonable rate, some quoting us nearly five times the cost we paid Capital. The team was professional and prompt. Easily recommend and will utilize again if some other opportunity presents.

Need it a bundle of hardwood last min to finish a project on a Saturday, called a few other places and no one had anything left so I called Atlantic 10min before they close for the day and they answered the phone, usually most places won’t answer when it’s close to closing time. The gentleman was very nice and said he thinks he has some left outback and he would dig it out for me, again he could have just said I’m sorry but we close in 5min. I flew over there even I was 5min past closing time they had it ready for pick up. Now that’s what I call customer service!!!

Scheduled an appointment to get an estimate for work to be done. Waited an hour but the contractor never showed. Texted and emailed afterwards to see the reason for no show, but never got a response. Was pretty disappointed because over the phone Miguel was super professional; but to not show up and even reach out left me immediately looking for another contractor.
We used Atlantic Hardwoods to have our pink pine and oak floors refinished. We knew nothing about the process and even considered doing it ourselves. We are so glad we didn’t try that. Our floors came out better than we could have ever imagined. The entire process from beginning to end was seamless and smooth. Tom was very professional and knowledgable with the estimate. Jim the floor guy was also so professional and skilled with the attention to detail and so helpful answering all of our questions. We would highly recommend Atlantic Hardwoods if your considering refinishing your floors.
Railings came out great! My walls were so off center, but they performed their professional magic and they look awesome! I asked if the upper section could be removable, and they figured a way to make it happen. Would definately recommend.

Not recommended. I paid as much as they asked, when they asked and I had the worst experience. They refused to come and finish their job and not even reply to my emails.

Made us wait weeks during the job to come measure, then weeks for delivery of staircase, then weeks to to estimate the handrail, then after agreeing to do the railing waited weeks for install day. When finally able to talk to the head honcho after multiple calls said they weren't even going to do the job because of the design which they felt was a liability even though they accepted the staircase job and agreed to and built the modified staircase. Best part, after waiting weeks and multiple call attempts they never even let us know they weren't going to install the handrail agreed upon. not even a courtesy call just left us hanging. All in all drew out a staircase job from January-March without closure. Nice. Real nice.
