It's so exciting to look through all the beautiful lumber and find the perfect piece, or stocking up on all the stair parts and cabinet grade plywood! I could spend every dime I have there.
We had an excellent experience with Atlantic Hardwoods. Everyone was really nice and helpful. Kathleen and Mark were great to work with during the process. And Donny and his partner did an amazing job laying the wood floors. They were great with attention to detail and care. Our floors our beautiful. We highly recommend them based on our experience. I am a general contractor in LaGrande Oregon and work solely with Sam at JC Woodworks because he produces the best cabinets I have ever had the pleasure to install. He not only designs and builds outstanding kitchens and all types of custom cabinets but his furniture line is also spectacular. I have requested bids from other cabinet suppliers and Sam is always competitive with pricing and delivers on time.
Our experience has been seamless from the start. Joey, the co-owner, took time to hear exactly what our vision was for our forever home. He allowed us to be involved with the sample process and took detailed notes to ensure that the project would be executed flawlessly. His creativity, knowledge and skill created handcrafted alder box beams that look like they are straight out of an architectural magazine.
The crew over at montana custom beams is great. I needed a product for an unexpected job and swung into the mill to grab a board. Even though it wasn’t a big order from a big time contractor i sure felt like I was the only customer they had. Gabriel runs a great business and I love the rustic lumber that mill puts out. Always stable and straight wood!
We had these guys make us a custom slab for a very large table in our home. I shopped around for a very long time and to find something the size I wanted was impossible. They made this awesome slab out of 5/4 walnut and edge glued it. It turned out, absolutely amazing. I put it on a set of table legs and it seats 10 people. Will definitely use this place again.
My truss is totally awesome! They did a great job! Communicated the entire time. Delivered on time and it came out perfect. We are still building but cannot wait to see it stained with the siding, deck and lighting. Everyone comments on how beautiful it is.
An outstanding company from the quality and diversity of their products to their sales person to the delivery team to the installers. The people we worked with were knowledgeable and most important shared information and offered guidance. The installers were conscientious about the overall appearance of the floor and took the time to point out features of the flooring material. It was a pleasure working with everyone at Atlantic Hardwoods.
While building a house near Sandpoint Steves Home Remodel was asked to add some special touches to a Home to introduce some raw timber design. Joey and his crew at Northern Timber Crafters in Sandpoint Idaho were there to help us create a wonderful setting on the Pend Oreille river with some finely crafted Timber, trusses and pent roofs over windows and doors. I found it very comforting that Joey was able and willing to work with us and share all the things we needed to attach and secure these items as I have never done anything like this before I highly recommend that you check out Northern Timber Crafters if you decide to do timber design in your build , it was a pleasure working with Joey to get the final touches. I will try to leave some pictures to show his great work.

Northern Timber Crafters and I shared a mutual client as Joey and his group at Northern Timber Crafters designed and fabricated the structural timber features on a custom home we built. Joey was transparent, thorough, and stuck to his word by delivering a beautiful douglas fir timber package for us to assemble on-site and delivered AHEAD OF SCHEDULE! We cannot express how much we appreciate their guidance throughout the design and assembly process! We will definitely be using Northern Timber Crafters again in the future on any of our custom projects with timber features!
Great family owned company with a ton of cool stuff in there showroom! I had them put some barn wood in there kiln for a project and they were super easy to deal with. Highly recommend!
Do yourself a favor and find ANYONE else to mill your logs. This guy's had my log going on two years, nothing but excuses. Had to give him one star just to leave this stupid review. What a waste of everyone's time!

Love this store! Great selection of both domestic and exotic woods, along with other necessary woodworking materials, like finishes, epoxy, etc. Prices are low and quality is superb 👌 This is my new favorite place.
My wife and have not been to City Hardwoods for awhile. I was very pleased with my visit! We met Caleb and his dad and an employee who was a great help. I am sorry I forgot his name.

Can't recommend them enough! I submitted a question through their website and Caleb got back to me within the day. I needed an uncommon size of board, and had looked everywhere for it. They had exactly what I needed — I was in and out in 10 minutes. The staff I talked to was friendly and knew what they were doing. WIsh I'd found them a while ago!

We found Northern Timber Crafters to do some beautiful custom beam work for our vaulted covered porches and corbels on our home. Joey was a pleasure to work with providing great details and imagery of the layout. They delivered an excellent product in a timely manner that we struggled to find elsewhere. Their attention to detail and artistry of true timber framing, not just beams held together by hardware is what made us choose them. They are true artisans and we enjoyed seeing even some of the other incredible projects they had in the works.
Great service and responsiveness! Northern Timber Crafters can perform high-level, large structural trusses and simple timber-framed patio-cover packages, to name a few. We will continue ordering our house packages with them.
Absolute experts in all applications of wood. Don’t let the disorganization distract you. Their focus is on quality and their expertise is beyond question. My “go too” for dimensional and live edge lumber of all species. Mark is an amazing wood worker and Glenn is a master of hard wood flooring.

Great service! Went and picked a truck load of bark chips. All I had to pay for was the gas to get there and back, which wasn't too far. I ended up being a little later than what I told them and they were very understanding. He loaded the bark chips for me, which I was not expecting. Definitely saved me time and a back ache not having to load it myself, but I was prepared to do it! Will be back again for more! Thank you!
I Purchased several shorter Beams from MT. Custom Beams and the MGR. Gabriel Personally showed me what he had in Stock. We then talked Price and What a Deal he gave me and all with a Smile. I'm on my way there to look for longer Beams because they are Friendly and know how to treat a Customer!
This place is amazing. We were remodeling our home and wanted to replace our stair rails.
Ensley Ornamental Iron fabricated the stair rails and John helped me pick out a wood called Sapele from Africa. He cut and sealed the wood for us and it is simply amazing.

I love City Hardwoods. The selection is nice, the wood is terrific, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The frequent sales help expose me to new species of wood, and I never have any problems finding nice pieces. I do miss the cutoff bin, which I frequented for my scrap wood challenges and little odds and ends, but with all the wood I'm buying I've got cutoffs of my own piling up. I love to support a local small business, and City Hardwoods makes it easy to do so. I hope this place is around for a long long time
Our company recently purchased a large package from Northern Timber Crafters. The order consisted of decorative trusses, hand hewn siding, and also structural beams & timbers. The owner Joey was great to work with from start to finish & the quality of workmanship was very evident! We’ll definitely work with him again on future projects.

We live in Massachusetts, we were visiting Portland and happened across Atlantic Hardwoods. We had been shopping everywhere for the right floor for our Townhouse so we stopped in. They have the most beautiful ash we had ever seen. Other places were not even offering it or had very little. We went with Wickham Hardwood Flooring, 4 1/4 " wide. Jack was amazing to work with and helped the project go so smooth. They delivered the wood to us. We had our own installer. He was not familiar with the product but was very impressed! Every piece of wood was perfect, hardy used any of the extra we ordered. We are using it towards another room.

I couldn’t be happier with my Order. I switched my new construction framing from 2x6, GL beams and TGI’s because they were too expensive and were too hard to find - to a complete Timber frame build. With Montana Custom Beams there was no wait and no pricing was great. The rough cut beams are incredibly amazing, and to be able to get all sizes of beams from 6x6 in all lengths to a 24x24x40 foot beam and everything in between still blows my mind. Thank you Montana Custom Beams for not only getting us a superior product and considerably increasing the value of our home but keeping us way ahead of schedule which ended up saving us both valuable time and money. You deserve 10 Stars!!! **********

Need it a bundle of hardwood last min to finish a project on a Saturday, called a few other places and no one had anything left so I called Atlantic 10min before they close for the day and they answered the phone, usually most places won’t answer when it’s close to closing time. The gentleman was very nice and said he thinks he has some left outback and he would dig it out for me, again he could have just said I’m sorry but we close in 5min. I flew over there even I was 5min past closing time they had it ready for pick up. Now that’s what I call customer service!!!

We used Atlantic Hardwoods to have our pink pine and oak floors refinished. We knew nothing about the process and even considered doing it ourselves. We are so glad we didn’t try that. Our floors came out better than we could have ever imagined. The entire process from beginning to end was seamless and smooth. Tom was very professional and knowledgable with the estimate. Jim the floor guy was also so professional and skilled with the attention to detail and so helpful answering all of our questions. We would highly recommend Atlantic Hardwoods if your considering refinishing your floors.

As others have already said, the staff here is friendly and outgoing; ready to help if you have any questions. They also have a pretty large selection of lumber, though I didn't see any of the plywood selection their website says they have.
I would not agree, however, with the reviews about "low prices." Their prices seem to reflect the norm in this area; which is fine as long as you know what you're getting into. I saw lumber I can get cheaper at Woodcraft (which is generally considered an expensive place to buy wood) and other species that were cheaper here.
If we could take this great staff and wood selection and add Woodcraft's hardware and tool selection, we'd have the perfect woodworking store...
