I walked into Wegenaar Co. after spending a grueling day at the Cemetary. I was greeted by a smiling Julie- instant calmness came over me. I was inquiring about a headstone, price, etc. Julie never once rushed me; she asked me about my husband- his likes, etc.
She was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL, KIND, SWEET and KNOWLEDGABLE!
She took her time with me and when I was at a crossroad, offered valuable suggestions; I never felt pressured! So grateful for Julie and her coworkers. I could never repay their kindness!

Brian Hall helped me through the most difficult of times. His professionalism and kind heart made it possible for me to make uncomfortable decisions.

Hollander Monuments was recommended to me by a friend who had experience with them. I had the pleasure of working with Susan and Marina for my father's monument. While it did take many phone calls of back and forth, the headstone was completed and installed in time and it could not be anymore perfect. It is important for customers to be informed of the process and to ask many questions about timelines and permits ahead of time to avoid nerves and disappointment at such an already difficult time. I just ordered a second monument for my grandmother and I feel confident that Hollander Monuments will deliver.

The worst experience dealing with such a sensitive issue. Very unprofessional!
Gave them a deposit for the portrait and the inscription in January was promised by March we are in a June and still not ready!
Again the monument is there all that was ordered was an inscription and a portrait!

Brian Hall and his staff Dominique were very helpful. Brian took his time explaining all the differences of headstones -colors, type of stone, etc., and was very clear of the requirements based on cemetery the plot is in. I learned so much in the time I was there. He was so easy going and kind, it was exactly what I needed while grieving the loss of my mother. I left there at ease knowing that part of the process would be taken care of exactly how our family wanted it. I highly recommend them.

The girl on the phone Dominique is extremely rude. She talks you down and is not empathetic. Her tone is very condescending and I don’t believe she should be dealing with costumers going through a loss of a loved one. Being in such a delicate field, the employees should be more understanding and compassionate. That’s a very unprofessional demeanor form the front desk lady. She needs better training

Do not go here. A year ago on 6/12/21 my mom passed away a day before her birthday. I paid in full for the monument. They kept giving me the run around. First they said the monument was coming from India and needed time then they said back in January that there was a mistake on the monument and it was being fixed. I have been speaking with a woman named Susan who was impatient and rude. I spoke to her on Sunday asking again to get updated. She said that she was waiting for rabbi and waiting on the cemetery. She had the nerve to say how there's many other monuments waiting. I have been waiting a whole year! So today I called the cemetery only to be told that the monument was installed yesterday and yet not one phone call! I spoke to Susan because of how disgusted I was when I've been asking for communication and wanting to see the monument installed. She referred to me as "lady" and how there was other people to take care of. They lie about every step of the process and caused my family pain knowing how.much I have been trying to be there for the installation. From what I read it seems this isn't the first time they have done this. Find a better place!

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY. If I could give them no stars, I would. We put a deposit down in July 2021, and were told the monument would be ready by December 2021. It is now nearing May 2022, and we were informed that the stone was JUST received. These people are liars. We called countless times over the span of this past year and all we heard was “It’s being worked on.. it’s almost ready.. it will be installed by the end of the week..” We finally got in touch with the main office today (Sprung Monuments) and hopefully we will get this resolved asap. DO NOT DEAL WITH KLEIN MONUMENTS!!

We were so very pleased with how the headstone turned out and everyone commented on how beautiful it was.

Service was terrible,it took me over 4 months to finally get my order and on top of that the stone that I ordered was not the one I wanted.I been having hard time to communicate with this people,and on top of all I been yeald and hung up on the phone.I do believe that this is no way to deal with people who lost love one.Let g-d be the judge of them

Hard to imagine when you look at the normal level of the river, but this spot has been underwater a number of times. Marker from 1972 was Hurricane Agnes, which washed out the footbridges on the MD side; the first bridge was sheared off its piers and carried by the floodwaters several hundred feet downstream and left there, upside down, the entire concrete span and its supporting H-beam together.

My mom wants to say a special thank you to Alla. She went way above and beyond her job description to help her and my aunt. . One of our relatives had passed away years ago. There was some confusion with her headstone. Her children have no interest in rectifying the situation. When they explained the situation to Alla she made all the phone calls and rectified the situation. They are deeply appreciative and could not be more thankful for all the time she spent helping them.

I don't know how many stars should I give to Hollander Monuments.On July 2020we ordered monument for my mom and quiet expensive.We were told by Susan that it takes 4 months for the stone to come from India. That was OK. We were waiting.In December 2020 we paid in full for the monument. The one that wasn't ready yet.This year Mother day passed with heavy heart.We went to cemetery,nothin.g. since December I went to the office at list twice a month Ever visit answer is You have to waitHow many months more? Today we went again.A.t list we got the phone number for the man who does installation.We contacted him were told that he will finish with installation by next week. OK we will wait and see what happens next week.

Great friendly staff at Hollander Monument, it's a hard decision making already. But Susan and the staff members. Make it their business easy your mind, with their friendly knowledge experience. The service wasn’t good it took long time a very long time to be installed and I never got notified

Losing a parent is difficult, it’s even more difficult to watch another parent search for a stone to honor their spouse and for places to respond with they can’t promise when the stone will arrive. When my mother walked in to Hollander monuments, Susan told her she’ll help her throughout this whole process and gave her actual time lines. She gave my mother hope! Communication with Susan was easy and pleasant. She’s compassionate, honest and follows up! I highly recommend this place for the service and prices you’ll receive.

We have ordered monument for HOLLANDER MONUMENTS For my grandmother few years ago and came back to order one for my dad who passed away last year. This has been the toughest year for me and my family and we are very thankful to Susan who guided us through and made sure the monument was done to perfection and on time. Susan has been very patient and accommodating and understanding with any of the requests we had and ensured my family had the most professional and the best customer experience even through pandemic where running and business with all restrictions is so much more difficult.
My grandma and my dads stones were both done to perfection and I highly recommend HOLLANDER MONUMENTS to everyone who wants great quality, outstanding customer service.

This review is for my mom who went to visit her mom’s grave today on her birthday.
“On July 27, 2020. I purchased a monument for my mother for 2k (paid in full at the time). Granted I was elated by the price, I write this review with a heavy heart as today is my mom's birthday and to my dismay her monument has not yet been placed. When I contacted Hollander I was informed that my order is in the top 300 and it will be sometime before it actually gets laid down. Hollander at no point reached out and gave a heads up they didn’t place the monument yet or they were behind schedule, they never told me that I would have to wait so long to have the structure placed. Having lost my mother during this pandemic was heartbreaking enough but to visit my mom’s grave and struggle to find it because there’s no monument almost a year later is unacceptable and only deepened the hurt. Had we been informed we could have taken our business elsewhere.”

This business was sold to a new owner.Klein and the prices Klein had is History.
The new sales person quoted me a price that was
Huge.I had to go on shopping in addition to my personal sorrow.I will never set foot in that place again.

They did an incredible job. It was such a pleasure to work with Susan, she was compassionate and patient. I called them specifically because my dad has used them for his parents stones. I arranged everything from out of state, with phone calls, emails, and they were very knowledgeable about what stone type needed to be used for the cemetery location- they did all of the leg work to find out what we are allowed to put up. (some cemeteries only allow footstones in a certain color, some allow headstones and footstones, etc).

My family is buried in Long Island and the cemetery confirmed for me that Hollander was still very reputable. (A lot of places were reaching out and cold-calling for our business so I just did a quick background check on everyone). I believe Hollander is family run, vs having “sales people” selling monuments as a job. Susan wanted to help make the monuments the best for what my family wanted.

The monument came out beautiful. They really did an excellent job. Susans compassion made this process less painful.

They were really excellent and I would recommend them to anyone needing a monument.

They gave me miss-information. They did not help me when they could have. There was no stone for my mother's unveiling. I spoke to the cemetery and they were more than willing to assist us and the monument company prior to the unveiling, but Kehila monument refused. Family came from California and Florida to an unveiling without a stone! I paid for everything in advance. They could have made it right, but refused. Not something I should have had to deal with during this difficult time.

We recently had a loss in our family and we were recommended to Wegrnaar Monuments by a neighbor. We were told that they have been in business for over 140 years and the feeling of "family" definately showes. Julie was caring and compassionate throughout this whole difficult process, and I dont know what we would have done without her. We were lost in our grief the whole time we were there, and she went out of her way to embrace us and be patient with us. She explained the monument procedure us and stayed in the office past closing time to show us the different design choices without rushing us. We couldn't have asked for a nicer person to have helped us with such a heartbreaking task. We would definitely recommend Julie and JL Wegenaar Monuments.

Please save yourself from what we experienced with ordering our mother's headstone and go ANYWHERE but here. The customer service was the worst my family has ever received in any industry. They are in the business of working with customers who are grieving a loved one and have no compassion for that. From beginning to end, the whole process was difficult and Julie was classless. I hope no one ever experiences what we had to with the final piece of memorializing our mother. It is with great regret, that I am writing this review but feel I must due to our experience.

I was told my that my headstone would be set in two weeks after final payment... this Thursday makes 2 weeks... I emailed Carbone and was told that the guy just "POPS UP" and they didn't know when it would be ready this is not an exceptable response...

So far so good I met w Vince he was very helpful and knowledgeable. I got a great feeling when I left there, I plan on purchasing my mom flat marker from here. To be continued.....

Carbone Memorials, Inc. has been around for 'several' years, and seems to have a wide variety of memorials to choose from (not sure about the price factor yet, but plan on checking it out). Would be nice if they had their own website by now, and perhaps fixing up the side of their building (the part that the public sees the most from the buses and trains) wouldn't be so bad either. Besides these minor glitches, I get the feeling they're thorough at what they do, or they would have been long gone by now.
