A place to praise God more

Lovely non-sectarian venue for a memorial service.

Very upbeat family + neighborhood oriented community center. Religion ok too. Beautiful folks.

Beautiful mid-century church designed by the architectural firm of Magoon and Salo and completed in 1948. Sadly, the church has relocated elsewhere. The entrance building has beautiful mid-century details such as a wraparound corner window and a circular window above the entrance. Hopefully, this structure can get some tender loving care.

It has been years since I have attended this church and I hope it has improved. When I went there I felt it had hypocrites attending. They had a greeter at the door that would greet some people warmly ɓut when a minority was next in line he would change an be very nasty Then they would have a sermon of how open minded they were! After the service there was a coffee and ño one would speak I would see new minority people standing alone never to return. They had a coffee hostess that was awful. I was new and wanted to connect and saw a break fast menu and asked when they got together for breakfast and the woman said in a very nasty manner this is for the homeless you don't expect us to invite you to breakfast do you? I thought they would get together and charge. So we could meet people. There was a book by Jack London of how A young author was rejected by the Oakland Unataran Church and a young lady and her family. The story took place on a boat and he wanted to comment suicide. I understand Jack London was on a boat when he wrote the book and he latter commented suicide.i suggested they included this book in there book sales.....I visited the church some years latter and they had a table greeting new people but when I went the next week I was on my own and alone.

Excellent venue for enjoying peaceful concerts!

U attended an event. SONGS OF THE SOUL CONCERT for Inner Peace. It was great

Andrew needs to be fired he doesn't know how to treat the public on sidewalks

The school is a good beginning for the young ones

Every time I go to the universal unitary church on Tuesday anymore , as crazy as already is something else crazy always happens. And I knew this crazy thing would happen before I got there but not all the crazy stuff. I was just looking on the tables before they start and see if anything there I could need. So I decided to skip the line because I have that stuff already in the apartment. As soon as she runs up screaming. I was like I am just looking to see if I should stay and I already have this stuff. And since I said that another woman walked up screaming. I said hey look there's not anything out of the ordinary even happening here. But I was enjoying the fresh food from some the volunteers that serve there always good homemade vegetable stuff. Don't get the way of their buck because they want my check 🕉️🙏💜

Not a congregation member, just a pumpkin-picker. But my wife and I had a great time finding just the right ones for Halloween/Fall and everyone working there was cheery and helpful.

It's always a wonderful visit, especially when we go for the Pumpkin patch festivities. We enjoyed a beautiful evening there!!

A Unitarian universalist is a greatest idea I research about it

It's been a wonderful Unitarian church all the decades I've known it.

Beautiful modern peaceful church. Such a supportive church staff!! I was performing in free & live streamed concert sponsored by " Humanity for Peace". The concert had a line up of singers doing art songs, opera arias & African America spirituals. The concert concluded with a performance of Mozart's Requiem with soloists, chorus & orchestra conducted by Maestro Gurer Aykal. The church had a full and the concert was well received. This was a very memorable evening for all.

Loving, caring. Staff is wonderful. What a blessing they are.

Fantastic church full of the stunningly beautiful architectural influence of Thomas Jefferson. He introduced to America the architectural style of Greek/Roman columns, balustrade railings, arches and other decorative features used extensively inside this church. I was so thrilled to see it.
The church is beautifully maintained. I listened to a beautiful concert of Sri Chinmoy's music at the church.
There was a very nice feeling inside the church.

Wonderful service with deeply meaningful messages for all. Stop and visit—the warm and friendly congregation will make you feel welcome.

The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.

A warm and welcoming place

The healthiest atmosphere in NYC. Focused on the real people OUTSIDE of the church, AND on the infinitudes WITHIN each and every one of us. I don’t understand why anyone in New York is NOT a member of this congregation.

This congregation has opened, not only their hearts and souls to any community that doesn't feel welcomed elsewhere, but they have also been gracious enough to host the mutual aid distribution event for 2.5 years! Each Tuesday, Mutual Aid Partners turns a parking lot into a resource center for community members from all different backgrounds-- political, socioeconomic & religious. The UU's provide space for mutual aid to store dry and refrigerated food as well as lend us their kitchen, tables, tents & chairs! Their partnership has been essential in helping community members get through the pandemic with a sense of love & connection. With the support of the UU's, Mutual Aid Partners and GJ Mutual Aid have fed, clothed & nurtured over 22,000 families since the beginning of the pandemic. Thank you :)

We finally attended Sunday service in person and it was beautiful. Social distancing and mask were still in affect which was amazing. The atmosphere was amazing and everyone was so helpful and happy. We will be coming back again soon. Anyone should check out this congregation, especially if you feel like you don’t belong to any other religion. They accept you as you are ❤️

Sincere folks, open minded, community and world oriented. Enbracing humanity seems to open doors to critique: I was taken back by the harsh reviews which I believe are unfounded.

Oh my God it's my favorite Church in Colorado these people are amazing

I'll be glad when they open back up.
Those meals were heaven sent.
As far as the handouts I'm not too
Keen on them.
But because of this here pandemic
All the church's have to deal with
Takeout.
As soon as it's over we'll be back to normal. Thank god

One of the most welcoming, supportive communities of which I have been a part. A wonderful place to bring my children and find positive, nurturing connection.

Warm, welcoming, thoughtful and insightful services.

Beautiful church, welcoming congregation, and FABULOUS music! LGBTQ friendly. Social Justice oriented. Definately worth a visit!

Monday night soup kitchen serving was a beautiful experience. Both the volunteers and the guests were wonderful - there was even LIVE MUSIC for the evening. Fantastic :-) Highly recommend - whether you need a nutritious free meal or to feed your soul - this is a special place.

We pumpkin pick here every year. Its nice.

This historic edifice is a visual feast. It helps to make CPW the visitor magnet it is. Little "God stuff" seems to take place. It adjoins The NY Historic Society museum that you miss at your own peril. A truly wonderful small museum that is a must visit. Great for kids. 6 stars.

I loved coming here last year for the pumpkin picking. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful.

Grew up in church school and Community is a multicultural marvel of spirituality and social justice advocates.

A warm and welcoming community! A wonderful senior minister and staff! So happy I found this church home.

Yes.

A friendly multi-generational congregation

This Church has the sweetest people that I’d ever met, they are absolutely friendly that makes you feel at home. The sermons have great messages, the choir is awesome, amazing music. After the service they have coffee hour to better know each other. I miss being there. They have a new minister now.

I have not stay there for that long. I don't understand the doctor in and or their theology. I guess this is a good place to bring your friends and family members. I believe it's like a mixture of religions in different traditions I'm not sure what they are as Church

this is not only a church, but also a community center and the pastor is really great. There are quite a few activities going on most days of the week. Including choir rehearsals and Community meetings and help for the homeless.

Very welcoming community. Stimulating ministers. Attractive historic building. Lewis Lattimore had been an early supporter.

Clean bueatiful space, gorgeous wood floors, and a spacious kitchen if you need a rental.

Great location at the corner of 76 St & Central Park West, gorgeous church, the service is awesome, great sermon, amazing inspirational music band & singers, nice choir. People are very friendly w/everybody, every nation, language, race, sexual orientation, social condition. This is a wonderful place to be.

Visited to see the show "Vagina Monologues", loved it! The venue was perfect. The acoustics were good and the overall energy uplifting and empowering! Easily accessible by public transportation and various food choices within walking distance.

Very welcoming congregation, beautiful music, inspiring space. Highly recommend! A place one can easily feel at home.

This is the most wonderful welcoming experience everyone is welcome, no matter your faith

I went to Fourth Universalist as a visitor. The congregation was very welcoming. The church is in a beautiful location along Central Park West, and the inside is impressive. I witnessed a ceremony to induct 17 new members, so it is clearly thriving. It was a pleasure to attend and I will happily go back when I'm nearby.

Paid to be in the space for a meeting, and I had to argue with the maintenance staff on how I had to set up the space a certain way so he wouldn’t have to set up the space for another group the morning after. I had to deconstruct their space to construct it in the way I needed it to be for my group while the guy who’s job it is to do that, stood in a corner and complained about how I add to set up the space back the way he wanted it so he wouldn’t have to come back tomorrow to do his actual job. All of the staff is insanely rude, their is no flexibility in space set up, and all in all not even that good of a space. I recommend to find a different venue because this place is the worst venue I have ever used/been to.

Inspiring thought provoking good group of people

This congregation is now closed

I enjoyed this church.
I visited one Sunday recently while on business in the city, guided there purely by Google and intuition - and I was not let down. The service proved to be satisfying in every way, from the majestic tabernacle to the highly talented choir, followed by a good, appropriate message. Indeed, it was a very polished affair, and the congregation was equally friendly and accommodating.
Though, what most pleased me was the service's substance - which is to say, there was passion and intent, and the undeniable presence of truth (or so I perceived, at least). That day, the speaker delivered a thoughtful message which contained genuine, practical spiritual truths, in line with my own personal experience. To encounter such is, for me, quite rare (and quite wonderful); I do not give this praise lightly.
So, thank you, everyone at this church, for nurturing the spirit of this lone traveler. Keep up the good job : )

Great stuff! I really liked the people I met. Going back. Thanks!

Called the church on business and the receptionist was very rude. She is suppose to be a representation of the church and bringing people in the congragation to worship and serve GOD. This is what pushes people away from going to church. I do hope the Head of this church will have a chance to see this view being posted and will look into who is on their staff. Not good at all! Very disappointed!

Church preferred to lecture congregation on it's own internal racist practices, with no facts or understanding of demographics. Horrible sermon, congregation wasn't very warm or friendly. Dirty looks from church members and staff. Will not be going back. Wasn't any spirituality there.

Great people who are involved in Oakland. No creed to follow. Just shared principles such as 'All are worthy.' (Also, since we are UU's: 'All are wordy.') We are a collection of humanists, atheists, Christians, Possibilianists (look it up), Buddhists. We've been in downtown Oakland since 1890. We plan to be around a lot longer. Come and grow your roots into this city.

I have been a member here for 20 years and I can honestly say that this community has changed my life! Drawn in by the beautiful building, I stayed because of the strong sense of belonging I felt here. And that led me to find my daughter and my husband. I want every one to be as fortunate as me. What are you looking for? Support during troubled times? A place to explore your spiritual beliefs? A sense of belonging? An opportunity to engage in social justice work? An accepting church? A forum to speak your truth? Others who want to help create an anti-racist, anti-oppressive world? I found all this and more. If you are searching, check us out!
