Kourosh took my digitals after I grew my hair out and needed updated shots. He is warm, welcoming, and gives helpful advice on posing and curating your final shots. He sent me six suggestions on what he thought would make the best comp card (see photo) but ultimately left it to me to decide. Very positive experience from start to finish!

Nechama was absolutely wonderful to work with. I don’t like to model and pose but they eased a lot of my anxiety around taking my shots. Super sweet and friendly…felt like I was just hanging out with a close friend. Professional and dedicated videographer/artists captured the life story and experiences of a retired nonagenarian State University of New York professor who conveyed the searing injustice of the 1940s segregated public school system in Philadelphia PA (not MS), his inspiring school and principal and how he and friends went on to great achievement. Combination of technical know how and sensitivity provided our community Historical Society with an enduring sound and sight document for both our current exhibit and our archives.

Nechama is an excellent photographer! I've had so many bad experiences with photographers not capturing my skin tone correctly but this wasn't even a discussion that was needed with Nechama. Not only that but she also made be feel comfortable during the shoot by playing music and cracking jokes to capture the perfect photo. Thank you so much Nechama, keep doing what you do.

Studios 15 was great to work with. Alex and Imari are professional, creative and timely. I highly recommend their services.

My first dealings with Studios 15 was at an event I attended. I noticed how professional and organized they were, along with being very friendly and approachable. I asked them about their business, and soon used them for my own event. They plan ahead of time, ask questions, and make sure that they state clear objectives so there is no confusion on what you will receive. Studios 15 is a class act organization, and I suggest you use them for all your special occasions.

I admit I've had limited experience with professional photos so my outreach to Frank Gutierrez Visual Artistry (based on a referral I got from a colleague who had had a phenomenal experience with him) was tentative but hopeful. Frank responded to my online request very quickly. He was extraordinarily kind, encouraging, and accommodating. This was especially welcome as I was in a career transition at the time and feeling truly vulnerable.

Between the time of our call and my appointment, Frank shared information that helped to clarify how best I could prepare for the shoot, when to arrive, and how to access the studio. I don't suspect this sort attentiveness is the norm at other studios- but, really, I think it's just who Frank and his wife, Christina, are because when they welcomed me to their comfortable, pretty, and well-organized studio space, I was immediately put at ease by their warmth and generosity, personable nature and professionalism.

I felt inspired.

Christina handled a light makeup job (a first for me!) with humor and grace before turning me over to Frank who talked me through how to pose in a way that I could both understand easily and respond/react to. There was no sense of a time rush. There was no worry about a thing other than bringing out the best in what I was bringing. The focus was clearly on me and I felt the true desire to find pics that would work. It was a creative and collaborative experience- occasionally joined by Christina who shared her insight and reflection.

But this isn't the best part...

I had a Zoom interview for a job right after the shoot. I mean, right after. (It was a last minute thing. I didn't have the flexibility to adjust the timing.) It was fully my intention to take the interview in the car ride home- and when I said that- literally, instantly, Frank and Christina just looked at each other and looked at me and said - "In a car? Take the interview right here!"

They offered to transform their space to create a handsome background for me. As much as I'd normally be embarrassed about someone going so far out of their way for me - the sort of confidence and support they offered made me feel like it was the right thing to do entirely. So, I took the interview - and I have never been in a Zoom with a more inviting background.

The photo shoot results were tremendous. Frank creates an easy pic review process - and then, he edits. When he sent me the final versions, I was stunned by the quality- and I rushed to upload them on my socials and bios. I have directed (ushered, pleaded with) every colleague thinking about headshots to work with Frank. #trust

I have stayed in touch with Frank and Christina ever since- gratefully so. I am blessed to be connected to them. And I will always be appreciative of and inspired by everything they did for me before, during, and following my photo shoot.

ps. I got the job. (Just sayin'.)

Nechama guided me before the shoot with advice about best clothing to wear, hair, makeup, and posing. She told me exactly what to do during the shoot - where to stand, move my head, facial expressions, etc. The photos came out great and the experience was easy and fun. I would definitely recommend Nechama if you’re looking for high quality headshots.

Frank photographed the cover art for my first album. It was an amazing experience. I explained the concept of the album to Frank and he picked the location of the photoshoot, followed by two zoom consultations/meetings to discuss the details of the photoshoot with everyone involved (hair, fashion designer, makeup artist, etc.) Frank is so professional and hospitable. JJ is an extremely talented, professional and fun person to work with.

I’ve known JJ since I was four years old—which is to say, longer than I’ve known myself. We grew up together, so this review is inescapably biased. On account of that alone, I will therefore embrace the bias.

In the 25 years that I’ve known him, JJ has never done anything halfway. Since I know all his secrets (yes, all of them), I can chalk this up to his incredible parents. His drive is unmatched by anyone I’ve ever met, and it has quite a lot to do with them. I suppose that the person reading this review would want to know about JJ as a businessman. In that regard, he is a man of integrity and decency. He would never provide less than what he’s paid for, but in fact will give quite a deal more. Questions about “getting your money’s worth” are unfounded when hiring JJ Sereday. He is a professional, not a weekender hobbyist pretending to know something. Disclaimer: I also operate in the world of photography, so I know what I’m talking about too. Thankfully, in addition to being a genuine professional, he also happens to be a good person (hence the lifelong friendship).

JJ has an inexhaustible well of optimism and positivity. Even now, I don’t understand it. After years of trying to inflict a steely-eyed realism on him, I’ve officially given up. All I know is that it’s not an act. He really is like this. After you hire him, you’ll know what I’m talking about. He gives a jaded cynic like me hope. Let’s say, for instance, that you have a miserable family. Through his sheer force of willpower, positivity and good energy, he WILL give you photographs to help you pretend otherwise. Now that’s a service worth paying for!

In all seriousness, I look at a lot of photographs. On a basic level, that’s my job. Like any job, it can sometimes grow wearisome. However, JJ photographed my wedding. The results are something that I cherish, and something that I revisit for reasons other than pure nostalgia. He knows, better than anyone, that I am a private person. He has the sensitivity to know how pictures of a small, intimate family affair should look. His pictures are true to the spirit of our wedding. I can think of no better endorsement than that.

In conclusion, I’ll say that JJ has a fascination with memory. Not memories per se, but memory itself—the way memories have visual traces attached to them. For a photographer, that’s a very good trait to possess. If you choose him to make photographs of your story, I have no doubt that he’ll produce something soulful and something worthy of future reflection.

Sure JJ's photography is incredible, but this day in age - who's isn't? What really sets him apart is the experience. Every session I've had has been such a chill, comfortable time but also a lot of fun.

See, he truly cares. Not just about capturing you at your best, but about you and your life, how you are doing - not just on the surface but deep down. Ive never seen someone so excited about me and my life - his excitement is contagious. And that really comes through in his images.
