We were introduced to LB General Construction, Inc. and the general contractor, Louie when he was doing work in our building. Our initial impressions were that the workmanship was well done. He and his team were following the plans drawn by the architect and were following them with attention to detail. The worksite was clean and organized. After seeing the work, we hired Louie to renovate the bathroom. We were extremely impressed at the skill of the individuals that worked for him and the craftmanship they showed. Louie was present on site to ensure that the job was moving along and that the work was being done to his standard. We were so happy with the final product that we hired Louie to renovate the entire apartment. As expected, the job was done to specification and done with excellent skill. Louie does not take shortcuts and does not make decisions without speaking to you. Louie remembers everything that you speak about and is excellent in following up to ensure that he delivers. When my general contractor couldn't deliver the kitchen cabinets they promised Guilin was there. We had been delayed and without a kitchen for months. The team at Guilin felt our pain and got to work. The cabinets are an absolute upgrade from what we were going to get, they are designed, have fantastic features, and look great. We asked for a custom hood that came out beautifully. When we had to make adjustments they came back and redid their work. They had a group text going that we could use to get status. When they said they'd show up, they did! When we needed something done urgently to get our appliances installed they came in on Saturday. I highly recommend this company for your remodel work - I certainly wish I'd considered them for my whole project.

Exceptional service from day one until our kitchen remodel ended. We looked at several companies but ultimately went with Guilin because they were honest. We love our kitchen and will definitely use them again for our next project.

I made a down payment on a carpet to be bound and cut. They were supposed to call me when it arrived. I thought it might have taken a long time because of the shipping delays in this country. When it got to 3 months, I called and they pretended not to know anything about it or have a record of it. I brought in my copy of the contract and they said they would get the carpet cut in a week or two. Again no one called me and I got in touch with the owner who said I could get my down payment back. When I went in someone I had never seen or talked to insisted that messages were left for me and I hung up when they called me. That was a complete lie. I said okay if you have the carpet I'll take delivery and all you have to do is remove the old rug and lay the new one. That was refused even though the initial salesman promised to lay the new carpet. I don't think they really had the carpet I ordered and that is why they refused to install it. They just wanted to keep the down payment which is pathetic as it is a relatively small amount . I think you must have to promise to lie to customers in order to work there.

My husband and I just bought our first house and the hardwood floors definitely needed some love. We called Hagerstown floors and spoke with Jamie who was very friendly and scheduled and consultation for the next day. He was right on time, very professional and wrote up a quote while he was at our house. They were able to start the job two days later and did an amazing job refinishing our hardwood floors. We live in Massachusetts, we were visiting Portland and happened across Atlantic Hardwoods. We had been shopping everywhere for the right floor for our Townhouse so we stopped in. They have the most beautiful ash we had ever seen. Other places were not even offering it or had very little. We went with Wickham Hardwood Flooring, 4 1/4 " wide. Jack was amazing to work with and helped the project go so smooth. They delivered the wood to us. We had our own installer. He was not familiar with the product but was very impressed! Every piece of wood was perfect, hardy used any of the extra we ordered. We are using it towards another room.

We recently remodeled our kitchen and we absolutely love the end result! Brian and his team were easy to work with - their communication, expertise and timeliness were top notch. The quality of their work speaks itself. Great experience, couldn't be happier with the outcome! Definitely recommend if you're looking for any kitchen remodeling contractors.

If you are going to have work performed by this company, I would STRONGLY recommend being present throughout the entirety of the job. In my recent experience with the company, the proposal formulated from the beginning was not adhered to at first. Long story short, had I not been present when the flooring installation guys arrived to replace rotted, saturated flooring, they would’ve simply covered it up and moved on. We are new homeowners, and we had a great experience working with Rich and his team on our remodeling projects. Not only did we remodel four bathrooms, but we also had projects like installing a kitchen hood, speaker system, and kitchen cabinet for trash. We were happy with the results--the tiling work was particularly excellent--but more importantly, we were happy with the process! They were professional and fair, and always easy to reach. They took feedback very easily and answered all our questions. In our case, we hired our own interior designer, and Rich's team was able to coordinate everything with her so that we only had to make decisions that mattered to us.

We had Hagerstown Floors do our kitchen. They were very helpful getting us samples of flooring that I couldn't find anywhere else and ordered in samples multiple times. The price was fair and the workers who installed the floor were very careful moving the appliances on and off our hardwood floors and showed me how the pattern would look laid in different ways. They did a great job installing the vinyl floor and cleaning up. Our kitchen is not large and very chopped up so this was not an easy install. So why only three stars? The new kitchen floor is a quarter inch higher than the floor it meets in the dining room. They provide a flat threshold. My husband wanted to install some wall molding and asked if they would just leave the threshold and we would install. That was a mistake, we should have let them install the threshold, reject the threshold once down and ask for a reducing threshold, but we didn't. So once we realized the threshold they provided was not going to work we called but they already had their money so I was told they would talk to the workers and the suppliers and they could have another made but there would be a charged and they would get back with us, which they never did. Now if this was a threshold you could buy at one of the home improvement stores it wouldn't be a big deal but our threshold was over eight feet long, it was custom. So we found a woodwork shop in Hagerstown and had one custom made that reduces the height so you don't catch your toe every time you walk from one room to the other. We could have went back and paid Hagerstown Floors again for a custom red oak threshold but we didn't want to give them any more money since they didn't get back with us or try to work the problem out. Hope this helps someone in the future. But once again let me state, they are nice people, the workers are good and careful so just make sure you have what you want before the final payment.

Extremely unprofessional. Had them come out to review our project. We are replacing our entire stair system and require the stair and risers to be refinished. We are ready to sign. The owners son came out and walked out and said he doesn’t want to take our work. I’m guessing it wasn’t large enough for them. This has been such a frustrating experience

Need it a bundle of hardwood last min to finish a project on a Saturday, called a few other places and no one had anything left so I called Atlantic 10min before they close for the day and they answered the phone, usually most places won’t answer when it’s close to closing time. The gentleman was very nice and said he thinks he has some left outback and he would dig it out for me, again he could have just said I’m sorry but we close in 5min. I flew over there even I was 5min past closing time they had it ready for pick up. Now that’s what I call customer service!!!

BARE Renovations is truly incredible. Richard and his team are absolute lifesavers. He's done a friend's apartment too, which was a pretty different style -- modern industrial condo versus classic pre-war -- true versatile experts! Plus my apt hadn't been touched since the 1950s - needed a whole new electrical system, through-wall heater/ac units, etc. They rescued me after the horrific contractor I initially hired disappeared.

Richard and his team were very communicative and responsive - which was so helpful and reassuring while working long hours myself. Made things a lot easier. They were thoughtful about suggesting small things that aesthetically made a big difference. Also, they were proactive about offering solutions to different problems or tough decisions that came up, working within my $ and footprint limitations, and kept on top of things that were needed. They were SO professional with my building's extremely difficult super. The team got going asap, were organized, worked hard every day to make progress, and really diligently made sure everything got done -- even during issues with my building, DOB permit stuff, and the corona virus starting up at the very end of the project!

Honestly, BARE Renovations went above and beyond in every way. They will make your renovation 1,000X easier and add true value to your home. I'm so happy with the results. I can't recommend them highly enough.

We used Atlantic Hardwoods to have our pink pine and oak floors refinished. We knew nothing about the process and even considered doing it ourselves. We are so glad we didn’t try that. Our floors came out better than we could have ever imagined. The entire process from beginning to end was seamless and smooth. Tom was very professional and knowledgable with the estimate. We selected Louis and his team from LB General Construction for a renovation of our NYC apartment that included a full kitchen and bath remodel, as well as new doors, tile work and custom closets. From the initial consultation and competitive quote to the last days of the project, Louis was incredibly engaged, helpful and responsive. In the early stages, Louis helped with the submission to our co-op’s managing agent and addressed their frequent questions (not an easy task). During the course of the project Louis worked hand-in-hand with our design team from Intelligent Kitchen (also great), kept the project on schedule and ensured the work was done properly. He reached out with suggestions along the way and helped us quickly navigate any unforeseen issues that popped up. Importantly, our building’s staff and our neighbors were very complementary of Louis and his crew throughout the 3 month project. What a nightmare. This outfit came in and ruined our floors, installed flooring 3 inches too high ruining our fireplace and dishwasher access, made the floor too high for our counter access, ruined 5 hardwood doors by cutting the bottoms off. Everything needed removed and repaired. Someone that knows nothing about flooring could have done a better job.
The last straw was when one of their employees attacked our son with a hammer and the sheriff department needed to be called and arrested the employee. I'd avoid them like a plague.

Paul has worked with us on 2 houses to find the perfect blinds and flooring for each. We have been very happy with both the products and the service we receive from Window Accents. I hope we don't have a 3rd house in our future, but if we do, we'll go back to Window Accents again!

Truly appreciate the great job that Paul did replacing my old window coverings with Hunter Douglas Duette shades. Window Accents and Flooring had previously replaced the coverings on my downstairs' windows and measured the windows upstairs at that time. My parents have used Dorsey Brothers over the years for certain projects on the house and they have always done a great job. When I was looking to have some work done, I knew I could trust them. Everyone I worked with from the guys that did the work to the girls in the office were wonderful.

8 years ago I hired another contracting company to do a huge bathroom remodel for me which cost me a lot of money. They did a terrible job, things were leaking and they never stood behind their work or fixed any of the problems I had because of the job they had done. Within the last year, I had Dorsey Brothers redo my bathroom and they have been a life saver. They've not only done a wonderful job, but when problems have happened, they have stood by their work 100%. I can't recommend them enough, they truly are honest and caring people.

It was very evident from the beginning that the installers from Dorsey Brothers really wanted to do a good job. They were very professional, personable, and didn't waste any time during the installation. They worked together very well and our floors came out wonderfully. I am very pleased and impressed with the quality of work that they did.

Very rare to find a contractor in NYC area that delivers work as promised. I've had Louis worked on our condo on several occasions. Every time his men did very good work and on time. His price is a little on the high side. But Definitely worth it. Work with him if you don't want any surprises.

Since my last experience working with Louis he has become too successful for his own good. Three months ago I hired him for more renovation work. This time he was too busy to devote full attention to my project. Material was not ordered early enough to meet the expected completion time. I have to admit that the quality of the work is still good (whatever part that was completed). But supervision and management of the work was sloppy. There are areas of work that did not get completed even till now two months later. I've been unsuccessful in trying to get him to come out to finish the work. I now hesitate to recommend Louis.
