Such an unfortunate experience. My husband and I loved this spot so much , but will never be returning. The service was so shockingly bad. After waiting an hour and a half for food, our food came out raw. When we sent it back, it just never came out again. The waitress kept telling us it was coming , and the manager did not seem to care one bit. Extremely disappointed that such a lovely location can be ruined by such careless service.
An amazing family owned restaurant. We didn't have an appointment booked, but they were able to accommodate our party of 5. The ostrich carpaccio was exquisite and the gnocchi (made fresh) was magnificent. Every meal we ordered was enjoyed to the fullest. I suggest trying the chicken livers as well.

Definitely recommend!
I recently gave a generous tip on a multi thousand rand bill; without realising that there was already a tip included - but nobody cared to mention that - they simply took the excess. Extremely disappointing and not sure I can happily return as a result. Yes, I should have checked more thoroughly but rely on people's honesty sometimes.

This is a good venue; but the staff don't seem to be entirely honest.
Called in on our way home. Mid Winter. Heater on and cushions on available for a comfortable visit. The service was excellent and our choice of food could not be better. Their chicken pot pie with fries and chips for R150.00 was outstanding. Jean had North Indian Chicken curry for R135.00. We both could play manage half so tomorrow's lunch is in the fridge. The portions are very generous and the food quality is outstanding. Presentation is also well thought out. You won't be disappointed. Staff appreciated the gratuity and thanked us accordingly.
Food was excellent, service on another level and atmosphere friendly and inviting.

I can say the most friendliest and welcoming Italian restaurant in Joburg!!
Lala and her team put a smile on my face the moment I walked in to their restaurant.
Their food is amazing and delicious, be sure to visit if you’re around but make sure you make a booking unless you’ll be dissapointed if they have to turn you around .
A gem in the middle of the Joburg chaos. The hospitality is always more than amazing and the food is always exceptional. Every single time we come is a treat with special menus, changing daily, based on what is freshly available.
We have found our new favourite restaurant!

Everything was delicious and all the people were very friendly. The chef is very passionate about the food. Dining here is an experience.

We were lucky to find a table. Make sure to make a reservation before you go.

We had the following:
Myself and my husband went to Hillcrest for our anniversary, without making a booking. I would suggest making a booking before going, it gets quite packed on a weekend. The service was excellent, our waiter was Boysen and he was very friendly. My husband did a beer tasting and I did a cocktail tasting. I didn't particularly enjoy the Mozambique R&R but the rest was great. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was lively. When we wanted to leave, my husband mentioned to Boysen that it was our anniversary and Boysen asked if we were in a rush to leave because the musicians were still there for another 30 mins. We stayed and enjoyed the music when we were surprised with a free brownie with ice cream for our anniversary from the chef. Thank you Hillcrest for being so welcoming.
It is a good place for a night out. The shows become a little boring after some time as the cast remains the same people for the contracted period. Would be great if they used more props and if it was more theatrical and acting it would be much better.
I loved the show here
The atmosphere and seating are great
You can pre-order drinks and food when you book online
There's also a bar downstairs to go to when there's a break in between the show
Pathetic experience.
4 of our party of 8 ordered the carvery.
We were told we can wait for others meals to come before fetching our carvery, after an hour when the meals of the other 4 of our party was brought to the table, we went to go get our carvery as instructed, but none of the 3 meats offered were left, some sides not left. We were just told sorry none left we can order something else from the kitchen, but other 4 in party had their food already and this had already taken an hour to come, so there was no point In putting in a new order at that time. They offered to not charge our tables drinks, but then we were charged anyway for the drinks except for three drinks.
Don't waste your time on this meal.
Pathetic execution & management of food & kitchen.
Arriived hungry and excited, left starving and irritated.
Not sure if I will go there again.

Stumbled across Hillcrest Restaurant as all other more well know wine farm restaurants in the area closed at 3pm.
We were pleasantly surprised with the friendly and efficient service. Our waiter was Lawrence. The food was really good, even for me bring vegetarian the options were varied. The hake, veg stir fry, the pizza all were well prepared and didn't break the bank.
Will definitely be back and spread the word! Hidden treasure in Durbanville.
From the time I made a booking, I received the most welcoming and warm response.
The pastas and affogatos were amazing!
All the staff were friendly and very helpful with recommendations.
I understand why they are highly rated on TripAdvisor and would definitely recommend.

A lovely experience for a Piano bar , they had a live jazz singer with her guitarist....lovely sounds.
Food was Tapis, orders alot of things to share.
Quaint house like setting with a front room, and different rooms and tuck away seating.
Definitely worth trying in Cape Town

Absolutely the best place to be and the events that's being held every weekend.
Nice set up. I've been there for the 1st time since it moved from Gateway. Plenty parking, entrance, and security well manned. Food and drinks are easily accessible. Atmosphere conducive to a family having good fun @ a reasonable cost. Try it, you won't make a mistake!
Great venue, easy access, ample parking. Friendly staff, nice bar area.
Show and music enjoyable- just the chairs were a pain to sit on.
I had a great time at the Barnyard Theatre Suncoast, Durban. The show we watched, "50 Carot Gold", was a real treat. It featured some of the best songs from the past five decades, performed by talented singers and musicians. The show was lively, entertaining, and nostalgic. It created a wonderful atmosphere in the theatre, where everyone was singing along and having fun.

The food was good and delivered swiftly. We ordered some pizzas and drinks, and they arrived in no time. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they made sure we had everything we needed. Suncoast went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and taken care of.

Parking was nice and close to the theatre, which was convenient. The bar wasn't too pricey, and they had a good selection of drinks. We enjoyed some cocktails before and after the show, and we had a chance to chat with some of the performers.

We had a blast at the Barnyard Theatre Suncoast, Durban. It was a memorable night, and we would definitely return. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing evening.

Mixed feelings.
Great drink prices, cool atmosphere, and decent music.
The night I went it seemed like it was mostly college/ high school kids, lots of repetitive 2000s/2010s hip hop/rap popular American music - like over and over again without stop. From the teach me how to dougie to wobble and just ugh no.

The vibe is cool though. There is a rooftop that overlooks Long Street and a small den with an arcade machine and seats like a clubhouse. Then you also have the main dance floor and a deck with more seats and another view of Long St.

The place wasn't as crowded when I went on a Saturday, but other bars nearby like Tau were. 50 rand entry ($3) and they accept card.
The 50 Carat Gold show was lovely. Always enjoy the Suncoast Barnyard. The special Barnyard Pizza was tasty. Worth the money for the evening.
Awesome talented band, definitely worth watching! Thoroughly enjoyed the evening! Thanks for a wonderful experience! Great food and drinks. Wheelchair friendly!

Phili Dube sings like a Super Star. I
will be so proud one day when she achieves a spot in Hollywood. Brilliant performances from the ladies! especially the girl with the saxophone (forgot her name)

Pretty mid spot. Mid drinks. A lot of underage kids. Gets really overcrowded at times. Deco hasn't been updated in like 10+ years and it shows. As far as clubs in Cape Town go, this one is pretty standard if not a bit behind the times.
However, probably one of the best places for mainstream hip-hop in Cape Town. DJs are usually pretty solid and the sound isn't half bad.

Attended a 2000s party for my daughter’s 21st birthday. It was a lekker vibe, but the DJ did not play my song request for her. The toilets are extremely small. The security was was good.
Came here for a themed night (Taylor Swift), and I had so much fun! I felt safe, and I love that they have so many theme nights, however the drinks were rather expensive. When coming to themed nights, I recommend knowing the words to all the songs, otherwise you will probably feel a bit out of place. Also, try to dress up according to theme!
La Trinita is one of my favourite restaurants in South Africa, it's a genuine hidden gem :) Exceptional food, great Service and a wonderful atmosphere prevail.

The owner will typically sit with guests and discuss the special dishes of the day. Tip: be guided by her, it's NOT just a sales pitch, you will not be disappointed.

My personal favourites are the Springbok Carpaccio as a starter and the wonderful home-made gnocchi as part of my main course (see photos). All the food is wonderful and I always come away feeling special.

Parties can be catered for, in a side-room if available. We've used this facility with a group of 8 friends and wives for celebratory luncheons, always a great experience.
Went with friends to their themed evening last night. We noticed the doormen letting people in for cash despite door tickets being sold out - a few times. Club was over capacity to the point that it was pretty much impossible to move or dance. The top floor was closed so everyone was packed onto one level. There was only one exit and not a shred of floor space for anyone to move. It was uncomfortable and if there had been any kind of emergency it would have been a disaster. I'm sure they violated their capacity. The Waiting Room got greedy and showed zero consideration for customers. Don't recommend.
We were keen to enjoy a dinner and live musical performance and booked at The Piano Bar one Friday evening. Reservations are required as there wasn't a table free.

We ordered several tapas plates to share between the 3 of us throughout the evening, sipped on wine, and listened to the band and their incredibly talented singer. The music wasn't overbearing, and so we were still able to enjoy a conversation. And the indoor fireplace set the tone for a cozy, somewhat romantic winter evening.

Our waiter was superb, and each tapas was tasty and beautifully presented. We will definitely be back as I have too many favorite dishes to try again.
Worth a try because staff is surprisingly aware when it comes to gluten-free options in the detail of their menu and the music is simply awesome. Dishes have really nice crossings of flavored nuances, high standards in a chill ambiance - keep the groove guys! Oh and they have a popcorn machine :)

We booked a table and the one they give us was nearby the bar. We were basically spending the night with the bartenders. we went here, especially for the live music in to see a live band. if you are lucky, you might see them, but there’s not a lot of tables that offers a view on the stage. The stage is ill positioned, only a few tables can see it. We ordered food and was way too salty. The waiters were very kind, however. If you like live music, maybe better go for the drink but not for dinner I do not recommend.

Great venue if you are looking to host around 150-200 guests. Situated within a mall-type setting, so on site security comes as an added benefit. Houses 2 different bar areas, a nicely sized foyer to set up a welcome drinks station or cheese and wine area or garland for pictures. Spotless ablution facilities with several cubicles to avoid queueing, and modern finishing all round. Not too shabby! 👌

Another brilliant night out at Piano Bar, celebrating a dear friend's birthday. We were once again impressed with the great service from professional staff, their absolutely delicious, well presented, exotic tapas menu, and the excellent live music performance which adds to a fun and sophisticated night out. We love you, Piano Bar, the true gem of de Waterkant!

Very scenic setting, with areas set up to cater for everyones need ie Beer Tent, Inside Dining Area and a delightful deck with a scenic view. Food is good, and is served in a jiffy. Our waiter Morne ensured we never ran dry ito beverages. COVID protocol was visibly displayed and maintained.
As a GO (Gentle Operator) / waitress in La Trinita... Our food & service are limited edition with love & magic.
New creation of our desert from my Queen La-la! 💕💖
