Although it is seen of a place of pain and misery, the number of learning centers are good for students finding a place to learn. The equipment in the building is very modern.
Nice environment, needs a renovation though.

A brand new extension is now added to this world class university. The university is beautifully set against a mountainous backdrop in a lush part of our leafy South.
Lovely place to study, with a private law library and an economics building with numerous computer labs. Downside is that there are currently no cafeterias at this campus.
Stellenbosch University is great and has plenty of good buildings and lecture venues. But this building is not one of its best. It is decently clean and still probably has better facilities than most high schools. This building contains a café called the Chalkboard and it’s a great place to get food and is decently priced. While General Engineering’s exterior appears more modern than other buildings on campus the interior of the building is not at all modern compared to other campus buildings. The WiFi is slow and frequently cuts out especially when the building is full or class is in session - exactly when internet is needed most for streaming lectures or classes that use internet software. Most venues here don’t have working air conditioning and start feeling like a mosh pit in the summer. When you have tens or hundreds of people packed together in a small space all generating heat then proper climate control becomes really important. Other buildings on campus do have decent climate control. The computers in this building are slower and less modern than the ones in NARGA (Science Faculty) or FHARGA (EMS Faculty). This review just covers General Engineering and not other linked buildings in the Engineering complex.
Great art here. David Brown installation which is next level. Really cool architecture with interesting spots to wander around and explore.

Beautiful campus.. halfway up a mountain! The morning walk to campus is amazing especially when the sun hits the mountain and reveals its bueaty.....

This building has brought me to tears far too many times. But I have also made friends for life here and hopefully get an education soon. Unfortunately it doesn't pass with a 40% rating.

This is where my other part of me lives! It's the physics building and gosh I looove Physics, astrophysics ❤️🔥. On this night, 23 May 2019, we were watching the moon as it occulted the planet Saturn from around 22:30 till around 23:20. It was magical looking through the telescopes that were set up on the roof of this building! We also observed Jupiter, the biggest planet(gas giant) in our solar system. Observed many other stars and celestial bodies. Truly magnificent!!!

Lots of nice rooms and small lecture theatres to work and hide in. The physicists are socially awkward so they won't bother you. 5/5

If you have ever been on crutches and had a class in the building you would know that the lifts are not accessible unless you are studying engineering. This makes it extremely difficult to attend any of your classes in the building.

Great building, very nice to look at, makes the degree look fun and doesn't it. Its a trap believe me. Engineering may at times be fun but the cost is your life. :(

Middle Campus is where one can find most admin buildings. For example, Masingene building has the Admissions, Student Housing and Student Records offices, whilst the Wilfred and Jules Kramer Law building has the Fees Office and Financial Aid office. This campus is a lot quieter than the main, Upper Campus and has beautiful gardens and walkways. It's also the home to the Economics building and Woolsack co-ed residence. It also has the shops with the healthier food options. Just like other campuses it has computer labs, a library and lecture venues but is thought to be a mainly law student campus. However in the evenings, it's a popular study spot as it is in walking distance from Lower Campus where all the first tier residences are.
I was a grad student between 2011 and 2017. Skilled lecturers, modern infrastructure and wonderful environment.
Great lecture halls, amazing lecturers. Awesome tech to help learning. Good lighting with good deals and seats make an excellent learning environment. Eating area with the Chalkboard selling meals and refreshments make a good place to go for lunch or breaks. Amazing study area with access to everything you need. Library is also well equipped for engineering students
My home department. Amazing place, with some of the most incredible equipment in the university. Brilliant lecturers and staff with real world knowledge and industry refined skills. Really a place to see if you can and in my slightly biased opinion, best place to study Process Engineering.

RW james building houses 3 departments , it includes the department of physics, department of astronomy and department of oceanography. Its a vibrant place to be at and buzzing with activity.

Really nice walk around the garden, there is a lot of different plants, nice and relax, the food at the restaurant was okey, is free at the moment but a entry fee is coming soon.

The Stellenbosch Faculty of Engineering is the best faculty on the campus.
To start with, it is the faculty that cares the most about its students. Offering extended degree programs, to aid those who have a disadvantage to still get their degree. Tutoring sessions that take place in the afternoon where students get individual attention, free of charge. Also knowing that the life of any person can be stressfull, the faculty has its own psychologist that all students have access to, for free.
In terms of schedules and tests, the engineering students have life the easiest. Well planned schedules and assignments to help students achieve their best.
It is also accredited by the same international board as MIT and Oxford. Enough said.
