the main thing i do here is play pickleball, but my kiddos have also played on the jungle gym next to the courts, and they liked it.

this is the premiere place to play (free) pickleball in the harrisburg area -- there is a paddle rack for open play (16 paddles) that operates basically year round, mornings starting at 9am and evenings starting at 4:30pm -- there is an FB group that is currently public -- so if no one is there to play, just go post and someone will probably come out. restrooms are closed during the winter months, and not in great condition. there are basketball courts and tennis courts -- 4 pickleball courts live on the end of the tennis courts (see the video) -- they were recently resurfaced, but unfortunately there are already a bunch of dead spots, one bubble that will likely turn into a hole at some point.

the play here for open play is on the intermediate-advanced to advanced side (3.7+) -- pickleball is a funny beast because on one hand, it is very social/community oriented -- but on the other, everyone likes to be challenged and play good games. So it is a mixed bag, if you are just starting out, you will find some people here that will be willing to play with you joyfully and teach you (just tell people you are starting and want to learn), but you will also find people hear who had come for a good game, and they might come off a little frustrated that you are playing -- so just read the room -- there was a really good video i saw about etiquette when i started playing earlier this year, and one of the things it said was, "if you realize you are playing with 3 other people that are significantly more advanced than you, don't overstay your welcome -- play a game, thank them, and then try to put you paddle in the rack with some other people who are closer to your level" -- this is easier said than done at Creekview because almost everyone who plays here regularly is pretty skilled. So yeah just have fun and be kind.

there are other places to find games in the area -- smashpoint pickleball is a paid-indoor spot (that offers beginners lessons), Adam's Ricci and Wass park (both within 15 minute's drive) have paddle racks and you will likely be able to find people to play at each, similar times. ACE pickleball (paid/indoor) is coming in spring of 2024 and will be very nearby the CV courts.

there are court lights (you buy time with quarters) -- they are not amazing lights, they are LED, but there should be more -- some dark spots on the courts.

Park closes at 11pm.

If it's autumn, bring a leaf blower to clear the courts off -- everyone will appreciate that.

One downside is a sewage treatment plant nearby -- occasionally you get some pretty crazy smells while you're playing.

It was nice until about 7:40 pm when it smelled like sewage. It was so strong. Plenty of areas to eat.

Monkey bars are a bit short. My feet drag. Clean and nice facilities, great place for pickleball. Has a bathroom, never used it. Sometimes people play soccer here. Don't bother looking through the gap in the woods, it's just a field with old hay bails.

Beautiful park in Hampden Township, with playground and swings, several picnic tables and eating pavilions, and a short walking trail. Be sure to visit during the fall— the orange and red leaves are a sight to behold!

It is a nice and beautiful park. Variety of sports activities are available in this park. They have nice playgrounds and very clean restrooms. It is great for communities. Their pickleball courts next to the tennis courts are getting more popular  these days.
When I visited last evening, the lights on the parking lot next to the restroom in the south were all turned off. It was around 7pm and getting darker.  There were still people in the playground and the pavilion next to the parking lot, and also several cars were leaving from the parking lot. It looked kind of dangerous to walk to our car in the dark at that time.
By the way it is a great time to observe all the beautiful trees changing their colors and there were a lot of them in the middle of the most beautiful season a year.
