The John P Sousa Bridge is one of the better Bridges on the Anacostoa River. The pedestrian walkways are pretty safe from traffic. The northern side of the span with the west facing traffic is the safer of the two sides with sidewalks and trail connections. The southern side of the bridge is more dangerous with iffy crosswalks across on and off ramps to major freeways.

Good overlook into Navy Yard. Incredibly loud due to fast moving cars.

The moon appeared for its lunar encore over the John Philip Sousa bridge.

Much better than the shaky old two Lane bridge. Better than waiting for the river to freeze to cross.

Be sure to blow your horn on the Sousa Bridge.

Great foot path and bike path crossing the Anacostia

You would not believe this bridge. It crosses the Anacostia river.
