Dr. Kaplan is probably the best doctor I been to for my medical needs. Someone who cares and listens and goes in depth on my visits. 100% recommend this place.The staff is friendly aswell
I used to love this place and would recommend it to everyone. I would no longer recommend anyone coming here, especially if you are overweight and looking for help. I had just been seen literally a couple of weeks before, requested a medication and was told I'd have to come in all over again, presumably to be able to charge me more money to send a new prescription in. Then sent me a rude message about the message being expensive and that I needed to check on it, as if coming in would be a waste of their time because I obviously couldn't afford it. Well, they just decided to kick me out of the practice all together rather than deal with a fat person who desperately wanted help. No compassion, rude staff. STAY CLEAR.
Dr. Kaplan is the best doctor I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his patients and takes the time necessary to address their concerns.

I have seen Dr. Akins and Angela for years. The doctors themselves, I adore and honestly why I have kept coming back for so long.
However, today is a a great example of why I will not be returning unfortunately. I called to reschedule an appointment I have this upcoming Monday (today is Friday). As I was rescheduling, the lady on the phone informed me I would be receiving a late cancellation fee for calling less than 24 hours of my appt. My appt on Monday is at 11:15 and it is currently 12:00. They are going to charge me $25-75 for 45 minutes into the 24 hours. When I asked if she could remove that since it was 45 minutes off the 24 hours, she was very apologetic but shared her office manager is very strict and would be unable to. This is not the first time I have received responses like this.
I get running a business and needing patients to keep appointments but when it something as close as 45 minutes from your cut off, I find that ridiculous.

I have been seeing Dr. Kaplan over the past few years. He is extremely kind, patient, and thorough. He never rushes through the personal consultation sessions, takes the time necessary to understand my health history and background, review my health condition and test results with a great attention to detail, and provides me with sound health advice to help me maintain and improve my overall health condition. My wife is also a patient of Dr. Akins, who shares the same office as Dr. Kaplan. I highly recommend the North Texas Family Medicine to anyone who is looking for reliable, dependable, honest, and caring family doctor and staff with a high level of medical expertise, professionalism, and knowledge, as we live and thrive in the growing North Texas communities. Dr. Kaplan is my favorite family doctor ever. Extremely patient in listening to all of my concerns. Spends quality time with you. Doesn't just "check you off the list". Never pushes you into a decision, let's you decide on how you want to proceed. And doesn't suggest/percribe anything he wouldn't use or do himself. Staff and manager great too!
30+ minute wait every single time I come here. My last appointment, I waited 50 minutes and the ONLY reason I finally saw the PA is because I threatened to leave. Had to do that again today. I do NOT recommend this doctor's office. Dr. Akins can't keep her appointments and I think for every late appointment, she should pay my co-pay. I am changing doctor's because I have finally had enough of staring at the filthy floors waiting forever to see her.
Dr Kaplan is by far the best doctor I have ever had. He and the entire staff are not only extremely competent, but remarkably caring, empathetic and attentive. Beyond the medical care itself, they do a great job of communicating both the basic information and the details of diagnosis and treatment. Their online portal is a little clunky, but it's quite functional and provides meaningful access to labs and history of appointments, referrals and prescriptions. I would definitely recommend Dr. Kaplan and the entire practice (my wife sees Dr. Akins and has been very happy with her; that's why we scheduled my first appointment with Dr. Kaplan).
