I've now been to a couple of events here - once in the fall for the Village Voice Choice Eats, and most recently for the Yelp Snow Ball. It's a very big open space, pretty conveniently located (just a bit north from Union Square and just a tad east from Madison Square Park). It's nice for a large crowd because it has such high and open ceilings, making it not feel too clausterphobic. Always a plus.
The building itself is beautiful from the exterior, though pretty sparse on the interior. While nice for an event, the event coordinator will have to make a bit of an effort to spruce it up and give it a little something extra to take on a festive air. And warning, the downstairs (where the restroom is) is a bit chilly when cold temps arrive. Brrrrrrr!
