Good koshari but not WAW. I still didn't get the real taste of Egyptian koshari of Cairo.

Have been a regular customer since I first tasted KAT (Koshari Abu Tarek) in Cairo itself back in Dec 2017.
I was just blown away by the simplicity and busting flavors of the dish.
I wish they'd open another branch on the other end of SZR or Deira where there is a sizable Egyptian community.
By the way I have seen more non Egyptian people enjoying at the KAT restaurant than THE Egyptian.
Still I hate driving 50kms back n forth just to go to Barsha and have my favorite food.

Koshary was made well, and the staff was quite welcoming. As the name suggests, this is the only main dish available here. Can be a quick grab n go meal option. Sitting and ambience were quite average.
Nothing special about this place their koshari taste just like the koshari of any random Egyptian restaurant if not worst ,but with some differences
1 portions are smaller we ordered medium but it was smaller than other restaurant’s small koshari
2 the material they have used are lower in quality and quantity as you see in the picture chickpeas are very small and less
3 their prices for koshari are higher than other places medium was 15 dirham while you can get a better and bigger portion of koshari for just 9 dirham in other places
4 they don’t have cold water

This place is a hidden gem koshari joint which is quite well known in the community, and their koshari tast is amazing, well proved and generous portions. Packaging is good and dilvery is on time. Regularly ordering from this place. Their koshari comes with a couple of sauces. Recommending this place.
CRAZZZZYYYYY restaurant but pretty cool local experience. Super cheap everything is like $1USD and you have so many ppl there ordering right on top of each other. Cool experience to witness first hand, but do keep in mind that it’s always super busy and best to do takeaway vs sit in and dine. Good food all around and it’s known as the best place in Egypt for Koshari!
Food is awesome and the atmosphere is good you can taste an authentic Egyptian food at a reasonable price but the service not upto the mark... they charge you for every extra thing you ask for which other restaurants offer you for free.. like an extra bit of fried onions or chick peas or cup of soup costs 3aed to 4aed... and staff wont inform it to you... it vl be a surprise wen you look at bill 🤪
