It was a fantastic hike with spectacular views! You have options for an easy hike or a shorter more challenging hike.

This is the summit of Mt. Hollywood and the vista point is officially called Tom LaBonge Panorama. The views are nothing short of spectacular, especially at sunrise. I can't get enought of it!

On a clear day, you get to see the LA Skyline and the city from Silver Lake to Hollywood as well as Griffith Observatory just down the hill. This is literally the pinnacle of Griffith Park and a must visit if you are able to make the hike. The trail straight up the peak is too steep so I do not recommend it. Take the zigzag Mt. Hollywood trail from the observatory, it also allows you to really appreciate the great views along the way.

Christmas Day 2022 I hiked the Griffith Park Observatory trails with my closest friend. At a wonderful 81° we were looking for something to do outside the house, so we trotted over to the park. Parking was easy and it wasn't crowded at all on the trails which we hiked all the way to the top, ending at the Observatory before heading back downhill. There were views for days; and we took great pics, panoramas and selfies which I sent to family out in the freezing regions of the country. They were jealous. This was an unexpectedly great choice for something to do on Christmas Day in LA.

Stunning hike with your dogs!! Scenery for days and 360 degree view of LA from the top. They do have water troughs along the trail (I'm shaded areas) for people and dogs. And a standing section for dogs to dip their paws into the water to cool them down on hot days. My mini aussies absolutely love the trail. And there are some off shoots of the trail for a little more advanced hiker and advanced dog which we take all the time to mix it up in the way up and down.
Really fun for the whole family and a must do hike in LA!!

Started from the parking by the Bryson Caves. Worked myself up to the Hollywood Sign then made myself up to the peak. I'm glad i came out on a sunny day. You can see all the other mountains clear like Melveny park, Rocky Peak, La Tuna Canyon, and Angeles Los Forest. All of LA is very clear to see from here even the beach too. Highly recommend this hike from a amazing scenery.

Just Amazing place to go hiking! Really nice area for fantastic views. I love this park, it contains different trails from beginners to challenging. This is a good opportunity to strength your lungs and take fresh air especially in the morning. If you park by the Griffith Observatory you don't have to pay for parking until noon Monday through Friday and Saturday and Sunday you pay parking after 10am.

Si quieres empezar el dia haciendo ejercicio, nada mejor que el parque Griffith para ir a caminar, correr, montar bicicleta o simplemente ir a pasear al tu mascota.

Fantastic hiking grounds. Free parking at the observatory up until 12 noon during the weekdays. (10 am weekends)The hike up to Hollywood peak is definitely worth it, not too strenuous. On my trips I’ve seen plenty of 🦌 , a few coyote lots of Jack Rabbits and a crazy amount of different species of 🐦. The view is a fantastic from the top definitely worth the hike.
