Not much hiking (maybe 1/10mi or so) but what there is, is stunningly beautiful. Huge amounts of big and shady trees, wide paths, clean, quaint, and mostly quiet with the exception of trains passing nearby (no loud obnoxious horns, though!). Also it’s nestled in a very safe neighborhood: So that’s a plus.

Pretty hidden gem. Train tracks close but you'll forget you're in town when walking the trails.

Good little park along the west branch of the DuPage river and railroad tracks. Big open field areas and nice loop to hike including along the river. They add a port-a-potty in the none winter months. There is a small shelter that comes in handy in the rain. Nice big old growth trees.

This is a hidden, little neighborhood park. I find it a peaceful place to have lunch and a quick walk in the woods. There is no playground equipment. The park backs up to railroad tracks. I’m guessing that’s how it got it’s name from the nearby Burlington Railroad. You’ll find the DuPage River by heading SW down hill from the parking lot. It’s a nice view across the water.

A quiet place, that's way out of the residential areas. It's a good place to go for a picnic. They have a shelter with four benches that may have to be booked early, if it was a normal time. It's a bit hard to locate the entrance to the park: the sign was so small !
The road is not paved, so you might feel like you've took a wrong turn, but it's only half a mile inside.
You might get disturbed by the train, as there is a working railway track close to the park.
There's a pretty large space where you could play a game of ball, so the kids won't get bored.
I saw a trail that into the woods but didn't try that.

Beautiful setting. But very small parking lot, and the shelter can only accommodate 25.
