Visiting tours are available, always someone at the info center desk, the main floor has a great display of the history of locomotives in the city, and during the holiday season, the local train enthusiasts club sets up their mostly Lionel train display, which is funded by an entry fee.

Wonderful free museum covering the founding of this city by Alexander Hamilton and it’s manufacturing history of fabrics, silk, Colt firearms, locomotives and airplane engines. The original submarines developed by Holland are also displayed.

There are displays of old fire fighting equipment, pharmaceuticals and sports legends such as Larry Doby. And of course Lou Costello.

Don’t miss the Great Falls National monument a block away. It was here that Alexander Hamilton proposed building a manufacturing city with the spectacular waterfalls as the power source.

I will return here again as I have on numerous occasions. I highly recommend this museum and the Great falls

Quaint little museum located in Paterson two blocks from The Great Falls. There are very interesting facts that pertains to the city of Paterson. There is no entrance fee but a donation of $2 is asked for. If you want to know a little bit more about Hamilton and Burr, the museum has information about them and a lot more interesting facts. It is well worth the trip.

Great free museum. The volunteers do a great job keeping everything clean and explaining things. Loved the old medication display!!

We always drove passing Paterson Museum locally, and finally last month we got a chance to lead kids visiting this museum due to their homework assignment. We didn't realize that Paterson had such rich history in U.S industry development history. The museum had well documented history, and kids read and learned a lot beyond their homework. kids were free.
