We were only able to spend about 2 hours there. SO much history, plus information about the California Gold Rush, plus methods of mining, local Native American history, and more. Didn't get a chance to read them all, but the "Letters From Charlie" about a Gold Rush miner's life were very entertaining and fascinating.

I'll be very happy to go back and spend a lot more time looking at every little thing, reading every little hand-lettered inscription. Meanwhile my husband will be looking at large chunks of mining equipment and enjoying the brisk operation of working scale-models.

This place is a treasure!

It’s well worth a visit if you have school-age children, and it’s a great way to help them understand the history of mining, gold mining, and immigration in California.

This place was pretty cool, it’s only $5 a person on a weekend. There were a lot of cool exhibits and the history was amazing. It presents it more like a school project which makes it more interesting and fun to read. Check out the outside part too, there are several areas outside to view machinery that was used. As well as a forge and several houses-they were not currently open to the public but they were still amazing to see.

Awesome museum! This museum has so much history of the area and gold mining. I was very impressed by the amount of items they have on display. The stamp mill outside was also very unique - would be awsome to see it run! Everyone is very friendly and so knowledgeable. I want to visit again when I have more time!

The Mariposa Museum & History Center is a great place to learn about the history of the Mariposa County area. The museum is located in the historic county courthouse, and it is home to a variety of exhibits on the Gold Rush, Native American culture, and the development of Yosemite National Park.

The museum's Gold Rush exhibit is particularly well-done. It features a variety of artifacts, including mining equipment, clothing, and personal belongings from the era. The exhibit also tells the stories of the miners who came to Mariposa County in search of gold.

The museum also has a good exhibit on Native American culture. This exhibit features artifacts from the Miwok, Mono, and Paiute tribes, who were the original inhabitants of the Mariposa County area. The exhibit also tells the story of the Native Americans' interactions with the miners and settlers.

The museum's Yosemite National Park exhibit is also worth seeing. This exhibit tells the story of the park's creation and development, and it features a variety of artifacts, including photographs, maps, and paintings.

The Mariposa Museum & History Center is a great place to learn about the history of the Mariposa County area. It is a well-organized and informative museum, and it is a must-visit for anyone interested in the history of the Gold Rush, Native American culture, or Yosemite National Park

This is the coolest museum I've been to in a while. I homeschool my son, and this served as a very educational experience for him - as we had been learning about the emigrants who traveled the Oregon Trail to the west coast.

A great museum. Staff was informative and great with our kid. There was a scavenger hunt which we completed. Lots of local history to learn. I was glad to see the section on Joaquin Murrietta and surprised to see a 6ft long 2 person chainsaw (I have my grandfather's from when he was a lumberjack). Would recommend.
