Is the Statue of Liberty in New York the original?

No, the Statue of Liberty in New York is not the original statue. The original Statue of Liberty, known as the "Liberty Enlightening the World," was a gift from the people of France to the United States and was dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and had its internal structure designed by Gustave Eiffel, the engineer behind the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The statue was originally erected on Liberty Island in New York Harbor and has since become a symbol of freedom and democracy.

In the years that followed, a number of replicas and smaller versions of the Statue of Liberty were created. One notable replica, often referred to as the "Little Sister of Liberty," stands on Île aux Cygnes in Paris, France. Additionally, there are other smaller replicas and variations of the statue in various locations around the world, but the original Statue of Liberty is located in New York City.
