They where their for me when I needed them, and continued to be their for me after the murder of my pet Dog by the hand of my neighbours.

Pathetic excuse for social Services.. supposed to be helping a vulnerable adult who is isolated on her own with health issues and all other services Have failed her as well.. I’m trying desperately to help her from the USA the best I can .. I can’t believe this is how services in England help the vulnerable adults , especially during Covid lockdown .. are there any other resources or options for help there ?

Assessment done on a family member in July. Were told she was entitled to floating support, and a full care package, after being means tested and agreeing on a cost.
After dozens of attempts to make contact and chase up the referral she was finally referred to the floating support in January (6 months later) but staff refused to even consider the care package we were promised and no explanation was given at all, with staff being condescending and nasty, implying that i was doing something wrong in even asking, and telling me i was lying regarding the promises made by Heather Williams, the social worker who carried out the initial assessment. It was clear that the staff all cover for each other as a united front, and have no sense of compassion for the service users.
Today I was contacted by Heather who explained that she forgot to do the referrals because she has been bogged down with work, for 7 months!
She refused to apologize and kept reiterating that she does not make promises she cant keep, ignoring the fact that non of the promises she made were kept. She also kept reiterating how busy she has been, as though that is a reasonable excuse. At some points she was laughing at me down the phone.
I am left feeling heart broken at the lack of consideration, compassion, and the down right nasty attitude of some of these social workers.
These are the people who are supposed to help some of the most vulnerable in society, and my heart goes out to any body who relies on these services.
