Amazing place for a Santa Experience. We took our family to the Christmas City Express and it was a great activity for all. There was a short children's interactive story reading by the author, a Santa experience with photo op, a walk around the depot museum, and a 30 min train ride with cocoa and cookies. Highly recommend and recommend spending the extra $ for the dome car!
My sister's and I took the train where we got to pick out a wreath. I've also been on the train a couple other times for a murder mystery show and then just a random one for fun. Every time I've been on the trains it's been a blast. It's definitely a great family experience! I like how they decorate the trains too, it was super cute.
Great museum and working train in downtown Duluth. Several different train rides available, check out the website. The museum has a lot of fun attractions. I have been on the Pumpkin Patch train and recently took a ride to Two Harbors and back for a private Halloween event.

Wow! I actually give it 6 stars! An extra star for excellent service on the train ride. We got the VIP top glass canopy shorter day 75 minutes ride. We had such a great time and I wish it was a longer ride.
We went on a rainy day and this train tour magically made it romantic. The VIP top glass canopy is well worth the extra money. On the website it says “beverage and snacks provided.” My goodness that’s an understatement. I was thinking airline coach seats snacks… soda and peanuts. We were provided two drinks which included beer and wine. The snack was a meat and cheese box which was excellent. On the way back we also got amazing brownies.
We’re definitely going again!!! Next time we want to go on the longer ride. Highly recommended.
PS. The people who go on these tours are exceptional and gracious. We met two amazing older couples which were a hoot to talk with. One of the older couples bought my fiancé a gift. Such a beautiful time.

Beautiful casual ride to Two Harbors. Gave as a birthday gift and this did not dissapoint. Left us plenty of time to check out the museum before and Duluth night life after. Run by all volunteers, they were magnificent! Our ride was in the dome car and worth it! They do allow pasengers to roam through the cars and check them out - highly recommended!!
We rode to Two Harbors and enjoyed the experience so much! The snacks out and back as well as a beverage provided at no charge was a nice surprise. Don't be in a hurry if you choose this trip. Relax and enjoy the ride.
