SummerTech

This place is PERFECT. Great instructors, they understand how to handle reclusive/awkward children and get them to show their coding and artistic talents. Animation, 3D and other fun stuff. 10/10 am doing it for my kids next year. Probably for longer.

We loved this camp for our 15yo! Excellent communication from staff for all my questions and concerns. Personalized support for a kid that had very little experience in animation . Loved the hours and the food! Highly recommend.

To put this review in context, I have a PhD from MIT. SummerTech was an absolutely fabulous experience for my kids. All 3 went in with some programming knowledge, and no Python experience, and by the time the summer was over one of my kids was writing his own network-based chat program with a user database. The instruction was top notch, and so was the curriculum. We have tried many STEM camps over the years, but SummerTech is the only one that actually delivers real, lasting, relevant skills. If you are looking for a STEM experience for your children, particularly for programming, look no further.

My son was scheduled to attend a camp sponsored by Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. A day before the camp was to start (a Friday afternoon), they cancelled several camps, affecting over 1,000 students. After all the Covid years, my son was really looking forward to this for a very long time and we really wanted him to have a great summer before he started high school. We were crushed.

We scrambled to find an overnight camp with great learning opportunities. On Saturday morning my wife found the website for SummerTech and called their number. Moments later, Steven, the owner of SummerTech called us right back. We explained the situation to him and he said he would find a spot for our son somehow, and not to worry about a thing. SummerTech was scheduled to start the next day. He sent us a packing list and answered all our questions.

Our son loved it so much, he enrolled for two weeks for overnight camp. The absolute best part of this camp is the teaching. My son will tell you he learned more coding during two weeks than any camp or any school course he's taken. He came home and has been coding games ever since. We are very satisfied with SummerTech.

The best part of this camp is that the owner is available to parents for questions, concerns, issues or whatever. There is no bureaucracy and there is no passing the buck, like some other camps. He's genuinely interested in kids having a fantastic time over the summer. I would recommend SummerTech without any hesitation.

We cannot say enough amazing things about SummerTech. There is not a program that even remotely compares to it. Not only is our son learning coding at an advanced level, but throughout his years at SummerTech he has made long lasting friendships and connections. He will be extremely well prepared for a future in computer science.

SummerTech is a premier Computer Science Camp for kids and teens like non other! Not only the classes and labs are state-of-art, but my son also had great fun in all other activities such as gaming and creative team-building contests. I will recommend anyone who take learning CS seriously to sign up!

I've never seen my son so enthusiastic about a camp experience before in his life! We were beyond thrilled to have him participate in Summertech! We even signed up for an additional session! It’s no wonder the camp is filled every session because it’s clear that the kids are equal parts challenged and nurtured. My son came home each night (after opting to stay until 9 each night to enjoy all the activities provided!) having learned new things, being active outdoors, making new friends and being inspired to do more coding on his own. The Summertech director, Steven Fink, and all of the counselors have developed such a phenomenal program that brings back campers and counselors every year. My son will no doubt return next year and for years to come! Thank you Summertech!
