I second what Brenda said about Mrs Civil. When she initially contacted me when i filed my claim last year everything seemed fine. I was due to get back pay on my case and she manipulated my paperwork and changed the date in which I filed which resulted in me not getting a dime. I contacted her in regards to my issues and was met with push back and rudeness. I went through months of contacting a supervisor. Only for them to tell me to file and appeal. I have heard nothing about my appeal and it’s still processing after 90 days!!! She ruined my experience and messed my money up that was needed.. and get this She is also the investigator assigned to my appeals case. smh Pray for me!

The only bad thing about this office is the adults who don't know how to control themselves in public. Everything else is fine.

I had the most horrific experience with someone that calls her self a manager her name is Miss. Civil, this lady is rude disrespectful and very condescending and has failed to do her job or many levels as it pertains to my case. My most recent experience with her is that she took the liberty to withhold my back pay from January- June and disregarded my overpayment waiver filed 10/2020 without an agreement to even repay. She also said that I would not receive benefits for October and forward going. This lady need to be investigated thoroughly. I really feel sorry for the residents served in ward 8 in Washington, D.C. She also told me that I should go and apply for social services/welfare until my benefits came. She refused to clarify anything for me. It was clear to me that I wasn’t going to get any resolution working with her. The following day I left her a detailed voicemail elaborating on all of the unprofessional things that was stated to me and asked her to transfer jurisdiction over my case to another service center where I could be serviced fairly, that was the only time I ever received a return call from this woman and my most professional experience with her, you definitely need a tracking tool when dealing with a person like her she needs to go we don’t need someone like her in our community serving our people. Please interview others that she has serviced.This review is to advocate for a community already underserved on many levels.

I’m having a hard time believing some of these reviews that are deliberately counter to the negative reviews. I have dealt with this office for several years and I can count on one hand how many times I’ve had something done correctly through them. As I type this, I am waiting for a response to my appeal to the decision to reduce my son’s payments because despite me giving them the correct information, they have incorrect numbers for my income. Also, they had incorrect amounts of what my son receives. I’ve been told I missed phone appointments when in reality, I was never contacted. I was told directly by an employee that the last person to be made supervisor, was making things worse than they already were. It wasn’t exactly a picnic before. I literally have an issue with this office every year. I once had a case worker input several pieces of misinformation to my case, which stopped my payments, and then retired. So to see people saying the negative reviews are incorrect is…interesting. But hey, maybe it just depends who your case is assigned to.

Leaving a review simply because the past reviews are not accurate. I had a great experience here and the staff were so kind and efficient. I legit came In at 11:50 AM and I am walking out of the building at 12:31 PM. Super pleased with my experience, I think Thursdays are the best days to go.

I've read bad reviews for this location but I actually had a great experience. I went on a Thursday around 2pm and there were about 15 people ahead of me in line. There were only a couple of booths open but the ladies processed my applications in about an hour. All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful and someone mailed my replacement cards immediately. I received them super fast. Thanks a lot!

I wanted to take the opportunity to say that the experience I had with this office was amazing. Ms. King was outstanding with the service she provided related to finalizing my application. She was very professional, friendly and was able to process everything on one phone call. Couldn't ask for better service.
Sometimes we don't realize that these people are overworked and understaffed, doing the best they can do with what they have. Giving them their accolades goes a long way!
