Worst think tank ever. They’re completely opposed to helping the American economy.

Cato has a lovely building and is a host to numerous events whether it be policy or scholarly. Their research is interesting as well since it targets topics often overlooked by the left or right, although they too have their biased.

Cato is a shameful organization. Their illusory superiority and cognitive bias is astounding.

The CATO institute is a bunch of clowns who clearly have no idea how humans should live. They are essentially an ignorant arm of the GOP and sadly believe themselves to be more.

Cato consistently publishes some of the best policy research which includes grounded critique of current policies and recommended actions too improve outcomes.

Total scammers and propagandists! They sent a pamphlet to my house asking for a donation - to support their mission of spreading partisan disinformation to "folks like me" - those of us who are THE most vulnerable to COVID. Their letter explicitly demeaned the efforts that our frontline workers are doing despite the risk of transmission being high in our country, regardless of where you are! They're not doing anything to support American citizens; they give their money to huge tobacco corporations and not to local food banks, charities, or local non-profits who need the support the most. I am even more horrified that an organization like this exists and is targeting senior citizens for their money. If they really cared about us, they would be lobbying for Medicare and Medicaid expansion, fighting big pharma, but instead they're fighting for LESS regulation so our air, water, and the policies that support OUR interests are dissolved. No thank-you!

The facility and staff are fantastic. Everything was well planned out. They have some of the best audio equipment. The acoustics in the main room are perfect for a speaker. Parking can be challenging. I suggest taking an Uber. I look forward to returning.

CATO offers a wide variety of topics and book discussions that are free to the public. The topics are primarily political in nature although this is not always the case. Regardless, here are my thoughts.
Pros:
-They have very good catering considering how many events they run in a week.
-Their facilities are very clean
-All of the staff members are very professional and courteous at all times.
Cons:
-You occasionally get extremists on all sides of the spectrum who show up to events
-Sometimes the topics are blatantly agenda based
