We spent 4h in there and only managed to see one floor in real depth (1/4 of it was closed for a changing exhibit too). Definitely recommend to start on the 1st floor, where all the paintings are, if you only have time for the highlights. The building itself is a treat all on its own. Couches in every big room were allowed for frequent breaks, I loved that.

We'll have to come back for the sculptures, the gold collection and the Roman and Egyptian exhibits.

Wow. So much gold and precious gemstones, Is very rich in history objects, very big. It is a must see in Vienna. From my opinion is the Best art history museum in Europe / world.

Great museum as a tourist. Definitely buy the audio tour when you get inside. Very convenient and easy to use for only 6 EUR. I will say it could easily take you 5 hours+ to really get the most out of your admission. Plan to be on your feet and see some incredible things and probably be overwhelmed.. bring water and a snack probably. We gave up after about 2 hours just because we were sort of done, but definitely wanted to continue. Just incredible masterpiece after masterpiece and literally legendary artifacts abound. Awesome..

This place is mind blowing, it is a MUST in your visit. I recommend paying for the audio guide, they have amazing pieces.
I am the kind of person that doesn’t really appreciate museums or art but this museum is another level, I loved it.

Very well maintained museum with terrific self tour. The museums treasures are gorgeous and beyond plentiful, but after a while , it begins to get a bit mundane. The portrait gallery is interesting but not exquisite. If you have the time do visit but if limited time frame you can miss it.

This museum is the first reason I visited Vienna.
Spare at least half day to enjoy this great venue especially if you love Bruegel. You have to leave your backpacks in the lockers so you need 1 or 2 Euro coins. You’ll get it back when you open the locker. Museum’s gift shop offers a variety of souvenirs. Under 19 is free admission.

It was a breathtaking experience. I loved everything in that museum, from its architecture, to its beautiful artworks. Definitely do recommend you go there! (Note: make sure to get your tickets online since you’ll have no wait time because of that.)
