Abshar Restaurant Afghan Cuisine

I've always been a fan since the opening. The cooks have changed over the years but the food still taste very good. The lady in the kitchen is really nice. The portion is quite big and the food really tasty. Do not expect a fancy restaurant but it's clean. They could do a bit more for the interior design though.

Rich, savory delicious food prepared by a very kind lady, what's not to love? Fresh, generous portions, lovely presentation and yes -re. What others have posted re. atmosphere/ location- its a no-frills establishment but very clean and tidy.

DELICIOUS authentic Afghan cuisine. The staff/owners were very kind and explained the different types of foods.

Food was delicious,very affordable,place is simple but super clean!!owner was extremely welcoming , friendly and generous,you could tell he likes what he is doing!
Me and my husband were looking for an afghan restaurant in the south shore so we decided to try for the first time,important to note that we are very picky on food (he is seychellois and I am Lebanese)
But we were really impressed by this small place,please try and believe me you won’t regret !!

This review isn’t to bash the place, but the outrageous price to experience ratio. We walk into a dingy low effort spot. This would be fine, except to a two person special is 51$ after tax?! you would at least expect them to bring the food to the table, but we had to setup the table and bring the food from the counter ourselves. Oh, and the meat was tough and chewy.

The Shami and Chicken Kebab (or any Kebab really) are exquisite and always cooked to perfection. The rice is also full of flavour. Just a perfect meal everytime.

The meal was good, although the picture showed 3 different kinds of meat, we got two kinds.

I would say it wasn’t as flavourful, compared with some other Afghan cuisine. I was expecting the dumplings to burst with flavour but it was a mild fizzle of taste. Meh.

The interior is not restaurant like...looks more like some community center.

Only one person behind the counter who disappeared when it was time to pay.

I will not return. Strange place.
