This place is an authentic Shanghainese restaurant. It has the best xiolungbao (soup dumpling) I have had outside of China. I was in Melbourne for 3 days and I ate dinner there twice. There was a line outside the restaurant both times but we waited less than 15 minutes each time. Several other dishes that we tried including a stir fried eel dish were all very good. If you like XLB and happened to be in Melbourne, don’t miss this place.

Tried the BBQ pork buns for a light lunch and they were fantastic. All the dishes I saw others getting looked so good that I'll have to come back for more some time!

Noodle crave and stop by for early dinner. Soup dumplings aka Xiao long bao was pretty good. If the skin is thinner it would perfect. Prawn and chicken dumplings with sesame peanut sauce was also very good. Spicy minced pork noodle very good. Would come back to try the other dishes.

Ordered the Seafood Signature Congee dish. Prawns about half the size of normal prawns. Muscles and Scallops both tiny in size and likely out of a frozen bag. No fish, quite disappointed.

This restaurant is definitely worth the wait, and personally, I love their noodle soup the most. The food is served in generous portions at very reasonable prices. Highly recommend this place and plan to return in the future to explore more dishes.

Great dumplings, delicious noodles, very quick service, minimal elbow room. The custard buns are also very yummy. Shanghai Street is very popular during the lunchtime hour so arrive early if you want to beat the crowd.

Always busy with a queue, but it is fast moving. Service is friendly and efficient.
Food comes out quick and piping hot.

We ordered the pan fried dumplings, fried rice, xiao long Pau (steamed pork dumplings with hot liquid inside), kung pao chicken noodles and wonton soup. We enjoyed 4 of the dishes very much. Found the wonton skin too be thicker than what we’re used too.

Definitely a good place for a quick lunch.
Do try the chilli oil on the table. It’s full of flavour without the spicy heat. Compliments everything very well.

Negatives - a small place with tables placed closely together. Tables are small so it feels a bit cramped.
Highly recommend.
