Beautiful place with historic significance. Worth seeing. Because people are living there all tourists are asked to be silent. Old houses (renovated obviously) and old chapel are stunning. An oasis of quietness and peace in the city centre is priceless.

Nice and quiet place in crowdy Amsterdam.
Some paths are only for locals.
The Begijnhof is one of the oldest hofjes in Amsterdam, Netherlands. A group of historic buildings, mostly private dwellings, centre on it. As the name suggests, it was originally a béguinage. Today it is also the site of two churches, the Catholic Houten Huys and the English Reformed Church

One of my favorite places in Amsterdam, a little gem right in the center but protected from the hustle of the city ! Peaceful and a bit out of time…

The 2 guys that work here were also so nice, they let me in even though they were about to obviously close the gates and were so funny !
One of them even took the time to come up explain the history of the begijnof.

Let’s hope this place will remain preserved!

Definitely worth visiting, very cosy and quiet place hiden in the city Centre. English style buildings and green perfectly trimmed lawn. Old church and the oldest Amsterdam's house also impressive.

The line is really quick and while waiting a very nice guide is introducing you the story of this wonderful place. The entrance is free, this quiet and relaxing visit is not taking so long. Loved the chapel, it’s paintings and the beautiful garden atmosphere !
