Early morning walks/runs are great.

Beautiful

A nice paved path around the outside of the reservoir and a dirt path through middle. Good for biking or relaxing to escape the city even though surrounded by highways and cemeteries. There is a small parking spot across the street that fills up on the weekends with ball games and barbecues. Highland Park during the week is very quiet spot to enjoy being outdoors and away from traffic. An oasis hidden the bustling city blocked by trees and cemeteries. Not too many amenities or services short of going down out to the urban setting of Jamaica avenue down the hill. Bring some food and beverages and have a picnic. I enjoy biking out and getting some quiet time enjoying a shady rest

Glad to see something like this in Queens , in NYC. But it definitely doesn’t seem to be safe enough to be walking/running alone esp during early morning or late evenings. Always go in a pair or group since it’s pretty secluded and quiet. But worth the visit as we don’t have spaces like this in the city.

I love coming here on beautiful days for a walk or bike ride around the reservoir. It's generally always pretty quiet and a nice place to get away from the bustle of the city right in my neighborhood!

This is a good running/walking loop to do, approximately 1.5miles around. It is paved surface, so it is much easier on joints than regular concrete. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that during the week one is VERY isolated, especially during the fall and winter months--there is practically no one there. Stick to the weekends to do this loop, after sunrise and before sundown.

When in need of a nature walk, the reservoir provides the perfect escape! Bike, walk, roller blade around the I believe 3 mile walkway provided. Different animals the forest houses. I found a turtle on one of my walk, another time saw a rabbit and the tumultuous Different species of birds with their spectacular colors and singing. Across from the reservoir is a large picnic area with humongous trees (lots of shade) and enjoy.
