What a day to remember! From the correspondence throughout the year to the day of the climb hillgoers were there with us. Met up with Edd (top guy) in the morning at Ballater car park then set off for the start of our climb. Lochnagar summit was the target for our first ever guided hike. All the way up(and down) Edd was great. Supportive in his quest to get us to the top we gained knowledge of the climb with lots of banter, topical conversation and encouragement. The weather was terrible but that didn't deter the 3 of us. After reaching the summit a drink and sandwich was needed. Then the decent back down again, again with lots of encouragement and laughs. One of the best days of our lives . Thankyou Hillgoers and a special thanks to Edd.

Hillgoers offered the best guides I could have ever imagined. In the Fort William area Iain was diligent, inspiring and well informed. In the Lochnager region Garry was amazing- adaptable to the area, experienced and knowledgeable. Most heartfelt was the effort Garry and Iain put into helping me experience some of the adventure the early mountaineers would have had in these mountains. I will remember this trip!

We did the Lairig Ghru on Sat 12thAug 2023. Our Guide was George and he was great, very informative had a few stories to tell us pointed out a few landmarks along the way and walked us at a good pace not to fast but not to slow . Gary picked us up at the otherside and drove us back to the carpark . Nice friendly people even in the van they were pointing things out to us. Most certainly will use them again

Hillgoers Dark Skies event
Tuesday 7th November.
A 10 š plus trip.
Firstly if you are keen, interested, and your EVENT fully booked, do add your name to the WAITING LIST. I did , and what a night I had.
Location, above Loch Muick.
This trip is suitable for all, those that just wish to experience a walk after sunset, or have an interest in the night sky
The walk was on good tracks. Gary is passionate about the outdoors, so any wildlife thatās out there you will learn about, we had lots of deer both on the walk in and back. Next a chance to have a warming drink and snack as Garys presentation sets the scene, fact and figures, stunning images. No questions too stupid. A quiz for a bit of fun,
Without light pollution I was amazed. I could see the constellations and stars that most of us are familiar with, The Plough, Sirius, Aquila, Cassiopeia Ursila major , the planet Saturn ,and on top of that shooting stars and a satellite. Gary is prepare with Binnoculars and laser pointer for closer inspection. We witnessed the Milky Way, a faint aurora, though nothing is guaranteed.
I would definitely do another night walk with Hillgoers, OK I might not see as much, but would still keep learning and be well looked after.

Iām just back from the trip of a lifetime with Hillgoers on Skye in the Cuillins and one that I will never forget!! I booked this back at the start of the year and given that I have a fear of heights and exposure itās a miracle that I managed to do this! I obviously very much wanted to but wasnāt sure if I would manage the more technical stuff but I did (thanks to Iain the guide) and Iām still buzzing!!!
Iain was absolutely brilliant, couldnāt recommend him highly enough! I was quite nervous about the trip but after a call with Iain the night before to discuss everything I felt much more reassured. He seemed to have this era about him that relaxed me and took a lot of the fear out of it. He knew every foot and hand hold and talked me through the whole thing.
He was very professional, knowledgeable and passionate about the mountains and I felt in very safe hands at all times! We also had alot of laughs along the way!
The weather was fantastic too! Such an amazing experience with breathtaking views!
Thanks Hillgoers for the best trip ever!!!

Just an amazing 3 days in Fort William with Hillgoers. The weather was fab, the group were lovely and Bill the guide was so supportive especially when it came to the CMD ridge! Came home and booked straight onto another weekend with Hillgoers!! 5 āļø

This was my first time taking part in an organised hillwalking trip with Hillgoers. We did the Glenshee East 6 munros and it was absolutely brilliant. I had a really good time and everyone in the group was welcoming and friendly. Our guide Edd was super - very knowledgeable, made sure everyone felt included and ensured everyone was able to keep a steady pace. I would thoroughly recommend a walk with Hillgoers especially for someone like myself who is relatively new to hillwalking and wants to build up some confidence!
