Just an incredible place. The art on the walls from an amazing array of illustrators and painters could keep you busy for a while. Their exhibits are always fascinating, and the people who curate them and run the place are so dedicated and knowledgeable.

For 15 bucks well worth they only had 3 floors open and not 4 but still was worth the price. Got busier as we went on but it was really cool. They also rotate the exhibits!
Edit: as others mention heads up that they have to buzz you in!

Very cool space, small and quiet, four stories of spectacular illustrations. Happened to pass by while they had Niel Gaiman pieces by Colleen Doran. There’s a restaurant/bar in there, was open but not running while I was there (around 3pm). Overall inspiring yet relaxing experience. As a NYPL holding New Yorker you can get in for free using Culture Pass, $15 otherwise.

Went to the costume live model sketch night for a date. Was a fun activity to try. I’m definitely an amateur doodler so it was fun to peek at what some of the more experienced artists were working on. The atmosphere was not too intimidating to jump in.

A wonderful niche museum. The temp exhibitions were great and the bartender was so awesome and many of the staff are illustrators and designers themselves so they are so informed and passionate about the work! I'll be back :) oh! And there is an outside patio that is lovely in the late summer

It’s absolutely amazing here and I just love the vibe. The employees are very nice and there’s just so much beautiful and interesting art. The third floor is definitely the best one but I love the basement too! It’s such a quiet and chill place and I definitely recommend visiting.

Really kind staff, fair warning the door is locked they have to buzz you in.

Took me and others by surprise.

Went to see the exhibit on mad and batman and saw some fantastic work. Nice to see original sketches and up close work.

Also surprised to find a bar in there!
