This place is truly amazing!!!!! Everything you ever wanted to see or read about concerning DEATH!!!! Like the band no pun intended! They had a whole room just for Manson well deserved and an exhibit for GG Allin at the end that caught my attention. Plus one room had a huge pig weighed at least 500 to 600 lbs i would say named Chaos that used to be the owners pet! I only knew this because the girl Vic who worked here told me she was amazing and so so friendly! Told me many stories about how they started in San Diego my home town where i live now and i had no clue etc a must visit for any person into serial killers etc also the last killer who died on Oct 11th, 2023 Clark last name who was part of the Sunset Strip Slayers was the same day and year my dad just passed RIP pop you will be missed! God Bless!

I just visited this museum today and it was cool! Of course, this picture was taken in the gift shop as once you pass the admission desk, no photography was allowed just as the person said, "We want to keep this place special" and as the website once said "Respect for the dead!"

Across the street from Trejos Cantina. You can't take pictures inside but is worth the price of admission. Bigger location. The have James Dean death mask, shrunken heads are real. The souveniers are awesome. I purchased Tshirts, posters, stickers, tote bag and an ashtray.

This place is not for everyone. It's a lot to take in. Pictures are graphic, and the live videos are, well gory. If this is your scene, you will love it! I saw a man leave because he couldn't take it. I would recommend visiting this place if you are into this kind of history.

Very unique experience. I would not consider taking a child. This is much better here than the Museum at the old location. Don't go on a Sunday morning to mid afternoon as the Hollywood Farmers Market dominates the area. Parking is deadly (sorry) with few street spaces and Traffic Enforcement is very active. Park at the garage behind the Cinerama Dome and walk the 2 blocks.

New location, initially stopped at the previous thanks to Apple Maps.
I had an incredibly thought-provoking and unique experience at the Museum of Death in Los Angeles. The exhibits were meticulously curated, providing a comprehensive insight into the history and cultural perceptions of death. While some may find the content intense, it offers a rare opportunity to reflect on the various aspects of mortality and its impact on society. The staff was knowledgeable and respectful, creating a comfortable atmosphere to explore these sensitive topics. If you're interested in the macabre, history, or simply looking for a one-of-a-kind museum experience, the Museum of Death is an unforgettable journey that will leave you with a deeper understanding of life.

We had been wanting to visit since it opened and thanks to "Heavy" rain Hilary, we finally got that opportunity. No pictures allowed once you start going through the museum so no cool pics 🤷♀️ I'm not sure what I expected but it was a mix of a lot of things including real mummified heads. I could probably spend my ENTIRE day there reading serial killer correspondence. The coroner's files hallway was ....... gruesome. The pictures are not sensored and I love that because it doesn't leave it up to the imagination. It really shows how messed up people are to be capable of doing these things to another human being. In the Black Dahlia hall, you can see her distorted face pretty close up and her guts spilled on the grass where she lay in 2 completely separate halves. But not everything is human, there's a collection of albino and regular taxidermy animals and an array of animals skulls. There's also a room that has a lot of info on the heartless funeral industry, which I think can expand upon but that's probably because I have strong beliefs in the matter. There was a bit about babies and how families dealt with them but I didn't really see anything about how humans see/relate to/deal with death. It's the only thing we're guaranteed in life yet this society pushes it away. Out of sight, out of mind. Regardless, it was a cool experience. Staff was very nice, friendly and offered additional information which I loved. Everyone gave a sense of the type of people I could be friends with, love that. That's including the owner! Dude was super cool.
