Mt Alvernia Retreat Center

Great retreat center. Lots of rooms, beautiful dining room, spacious snack room, and each room has its own bathroom. Only problems, 1. Building is way too crusty and is definitively starting to show its age. 2. Kinda big, hard for kids to navigate. Overall, great retreat center. 7/10 recommend

Beautiful grounds, really nice place to walk around -- plus they have BINGO every Monday. Plenty of parking too.

We live close by and go once a week to walk the grounds and pray. Definitely recommend anyone to check it out.

We have been here for activities of our children through high school. We’ve also walked the grounds and been to the gift shop. It certainly is a beautiful and peaceful place.

It is a wonderful place of the Franciscan Order. I had been here three times. It is really spectacular and expert for retreat, relax with beautiful scenery and excellent foods. Everyday will begin with the Mass. I like here not only that, but also the atmosphere here is perfect. I did enjoyed here very much. Last week, I went to that place, every trees don't have their leaves, but not because that make the place less interesting for me. I have special view and atmosphere in the winter.

This is one of my favorite places on Earth. I come here once a year with my young adult group from St. Francis of Assisi in NYC. It's an occasion to which I always look forward. The facility is tranquil, surrounded by fields, forests, and a sweeping view of the Hudson Valley. It includes plenty of space for prayer. And group meetings, both large and small. Meals are served several times a day, and the Franciscan friars who operate the place are very hospitable.
